Viking conquest is terrible in its current state now aswell. It's a lot better than it was at its release, but its still shit.
Isnt' that the one where they tried to put like 5 sentences into a single reply option?
Is L'Aigle worth downloading?
Yes. It doesn't have as many features yet as something like Calradia: Imperial Age and the AI is pretty dumb, but it's still pretty good.

Sweet, now I can literally give my kingdom for a horse.

Also TW said they're planning to eventually do consoles but only after finishing dev of PC, so we're fine.

One of the coolest things I think you can ever see in this game is watching a charging company of cavalry be annihilate by an organized line of infantry in the Imperial Age mod. It's just so satisfying to sit worrying for a minute and then suddenly hearing a huge bang and seeing two dozen men fall from their saddles.
Is there any way to change either the font or the placement of the constant popups?
Also, is there a reason why Warband put me in babby-mode as I started the game? I recently checked out the difficulty options and it seems like I'm playing on easy with auto-blocking and shit, but I didn't see a difficulty prompt when I created the character.

because anything above normal has the ai cheating.
because anything above normal has the ai cheating.
The way they gang up on you during melee and tournaments already feels like cheating. Then there's jousting, where they either can't catch up while you're going in circles, are easy as hell to poke to death, or just one-hit-KO you out of the blue.
This game is bullshit, I love it.
I really hope they re-do how on foot combat works in Bannerlord. As it is now you just get swarmed and unless you're really stronger than the enemy you get overwhelmed instantly. The game is called *Mount* and Blade, but it'd be nice if infantry playthroughs were a bit more viable.

Easy fix for this: Have armor too heavy for you to ride on horses efficiently.
Stuff that's bulky and basically wouldn't allow to to attack on horse with ease, yet with ground combat let you take a lot of hits so that you don't have to worry too much about blocking and instead going for the offensive.
You'd probably have to mess with body collision too. Enemies tend to jam so close packed that you can't even swing your weapon, even though they're swinging through one another to hit you.
Something I'd want to see is some variation in shields. As it is right now, all shields have the exact same animation and even though the hitbox varies depending on the area, it still feels the same. Perhaps split the shields into Light, Heavy and Normal. Normal could be the one we currently have, Heavy could be slower but impenetrable(for making shieldwalls and similar) and Light could perhaps have some kind of Shield Bash you could do(because of it being lighter and more slim than the others), but instead suffer from a smaller hitbox.
I'd like plate armour to actually work as a defense unless the opponents have maces and hammers.
Plate armour was virtually invulnerable to all sorts of attacks, unless the helmet was open and you stabbed the dude in the face. I'd like to be able to take on about 4-5 low tier troops at once with the plate armour because thats just how much damage they could absorb. People with shortswords and shields ain't got shit on that unless they trip you.
L'Aigle already has the quality of a finished product in alpha stage. I am having an absolute fucking blast from it. Thanks for recommending it.

Or, you know. Bash your shit to hell and back with the shield/buckler/whatever.

This is what I want. If my Great Axe shaft goes hits your face, no, it shouldn't cut your face off but I still just swung a heavy-ass stick at your face.... And if I swing my claymore with 3 people in front of me, I want to be able to hit all 3 people if they don't block correctly :<
I played some Mount and Blade Fire and Sword, save & exit forced
I did an hour of trading, made a load of gold, then looted one village and went back to trading. I was getting tired of training so I built up an army of 50 European Musketmen that cost me a few thousand gold, and I trained a whole bunch of them.
I went to Kiev, hadn't paid off my loan, got attacked and lost 3k plus about 6k worth of uncommon weapons (Sovyna, metal hatchet and my prized musket) and just to rub in the shittyness I bought some goods, travelled to Pskov and waited to assess prices.

Remember that village I looted? Well, there's a bug. If you wait in a town being laid siege to, and the besiegers are hostile, you automatically get forced into a battle.
Naturally, my whole 50 man party gets slaughtered. I didn't even have any weapons except for a shitty spare saber and I die the first time a chainmail douchebag comes over the ladder and absorbs solid hits like nothing.
Sigh. I'm now down to 1k and I've no real desire at all to go back to trading for an hour
first time i started a playthrough of wfas
i was asked to take down some neighboring lord, i had a band of about 70 or so men at that point. being the derp that i was i said fuck yeah i'll kick his face in, went scouring the map for this candy-ass.
get to him finally, fucker has like 300 units all on horseback, but i figure i can take them since i have myself and a few other riders with some 1337 battle skillz.
the battle begins and i'm the first one to get knocked out. my whole crew is killed and i'm robbed of everything that isn't my pistol and like 2 things of food. so i finally escape, go find the fucker again and try to take him on 1v300. i get my shit wrecked even faster than i did last time, taken prisoner again, this time losing everything, and after i escaped, deleted the profile and uninstalled.

the problem with WFAS is that all the units could insta- aimbot kill you as a simple looter/ low tier bandit and basically made the game a bit unbalanced in my opinion. feel free to disagree with me.

You're not wrong. All the guns are too accurate and NPCs can account for movement speed and bullet trajectories like robots.
bullshit
Aww fuck I got caught by the loan sharks again, the problem is that in the event you spawn in front of a town, about 10 men come out armed with muskets and then you're either one shotted straight away, or you try melee them and end up backing into an invisible wall because you've got no space to fight at all
They took 6.7k which was basically every last penny and every single weapon, I'm utterly broke and my only real wealth is some canisters of beer
I'd like to imagine my character came to his end getting piss drunk because I'm not touching that save file again lol

in all fairness, things would get ridiculous fast. Even chainmail was nigh impenetrable by blade. It'd get to the point where it's practically impossible to kill high tier troops.

They could introduce a fatigue system or just make use of blunt damage. Doesn't matter if you can't get a hit that penetrates, striking someone's chainmail-covered chest is eventually going to tire them or damage something internally.

Then they'd have to set it up so that you can rest during battle and have more than sword-shield-lance to make things fun. I'm all for realism, but it'd just end up being a boring slog unless you decide to turn the game into a Medieval times sim, which M&B just isn't.

This isn't a bug at all, if you're hostile to the besiegers of course they're not going to just let you walk out of there once the siege starts

Has anyone played this yet? The images look really darn good but I can't find anything about the actual gameplay and how much is done other than the world map.
