I threw 1000 hours in to warband, time to throw another 1000 into this.

Like holy shit, I really didn't expect that kind of progress and features from a company like Taleworlds.
I'm fucking amazed.
[editline]5th August 2015[/editline]
Seriously IDK what to say, holy shit
this is beyond my expectations

bannerlord confirmed for britbong simulator
It's a shame there is no indication at all of when it will be released. At the current rate i expect it will be another 2 years.
all aboard the hype train
give me a release date so i can truly feel the emptiness inside until that time arrives

I'd be worried if it said 2016, it doesn't seem all that ready for release yet TBH
Although shit, they're clearly making proper use of their time, so fuck it, I'll wait

It's been almost 3 years, It was announced far too early, especially if it's still nowhere near done.
It'd be funny by the end of Gamescom and tales world is like "it's out now btw"
Unfortunately with those placeholder VO, I doubt it.
I dunno if thise are placeholder voices; they have to show their indie roots somehow :v:
[editline]5th August 2015[/editline]
I'm kidding btw I really do hope they are placeholders.
dear god yes this just made my day
cant wait
gonna make so many maps i might have to consider making a mod to contain them all
from the looks of the editor, it seems like it'd be fun to just make maps, brb only buying bannerlord for the modding tools
It seems like the map assets on the overworld are less singular and centralized like they were in Warband. Each village had a separately modeled fort, horse-farm, and economic building it seemed- I wonder if you can build stuff in the overworld like founding villages or establishing bandit lairs n stuff.
Arghhhhh full PBR
I was sort of temporarily on the fence about resuming my Elder scrolls mod but after getting PBR confirmation and seeing how gorgeous and awesome this game engine is, I'm going to go full steam ahead on that shit the second the game comes out. This is a proper fully modernized game engine now
Totally gonna make some kickass battlefield maps.
I want to make a castle/city where it's been besieged for months. Barricades, shattered walls, burnt out houses that were afire weeks before, moats filled with bloated bodies, crows everywhere.
Idunno, I like the idea of a bleakness during a siege while glory and righteousness during a field battle.
I'm going full on comfy. I'll make a roman-style villa by the coastline with low walls for protection against bandits a grand banquet hall, and some vineyards nestled among some rolling hills with mountains in the background.
I've been following this thread for a while and thinking "it could be a nice improvement if it actually comes out".
But after seeing all the new stuff, I'm hyped. Maybe even more than for Fallout 4.
[QUOTE=Medevila;48381444]I hope we get another Game of Thrones mod for Bannerlord, too[/QUOTE]
That right there is about half of what makes me really excited for Bannerlord: the mods.
Another Game of Thrones mod would be cool, but I am even more excited to see the stuff that steps out of that "fantasy middle-ages"-ish theme. I can only imagine another WWII China Battlefield (please come back Williamberne), or Civil War in Russia, only new and improved on Bannerlord. It just always excites me to see what crazy shit people are going to do as far as modding goes.
To be honest, mods are what keep me interested in games after already having "beat" them, they really keep the heart of a game pumping for years after it would normally be relevant. For example, the previously mentioned WWII China Battlefield is the only reason I still play the classic Mount and Blade at all, although, granted I wish that it was ported over to Warband.

I play classic M&B for the 1866 mod. Unlike a lot of out of period M&B mods it feels just right and the gunplay is absolutely spot on. Gun sounds are good, recoil and handling are good, balance is good. Even the dynamite works such that each time you throw it you lose that bundle permanently, meaning you have to buy new blocks of it for your inventory.
The assets made for it are also absolutely superb and the wealth of extra features, like robbing banks just makes it scream the "new game" feel

Would be nice to see an early access alpha on steam or something, I'm used to M&B being buggy as fuck anyways. It would be nice for taleworlds to give people a headstart on the modding, and get focused feedback for stability/gameplay improvement.
Butterlord AD1257 pls
This looks like the best shit ever. I just wish they overhauled the movement a bit, I never liked how floaty and without impact the interactions with NPCs were in Warband
They have hit reaction animations. Did that exist in Warband, or did it just interrupt their swing / unready their weapon?
Hit reactions exist in warband
One new thing I did notice is that people seem to die in the direction you hit them. During the gameplay footage one guy just got waylaid with a sword and tend to recoil and fall in the direction you hit them from
Overall I'd say the combat hasn't changed a lot from what we saw, it's pretty much everything but the combat that has changed

There are hit reactions yeah, but it doesn't really feel like it has much impact imo.
But what I was referring to was more how the player character walks into dudes and they just float away, or how all the animations are still the same (no windup animations for running, walking, attacking) and shit like that

They separated thrust speed from swing speed so no more 360 thrust hit foot and die.

Crossing my fingers that "Nude except for helmet+greatsword" builds in Native MP don't exist in bannerlord, that was the most annoying shit
One man's dumb gimmick is another man's emergent gameplay.

To be honest a lot of the 2 handed weapons felt way too fast with whichever armour/clothing you wore.
I wonder if they're going to change kicking. It could really only be landed if someone was stuck or running into you.
