Crossing my fingers that "Nude except for helmet+greatsword" builds in Native MP don't exist in bannerlord, that was the most annoying shit
That's less a problem with the option and more a fact that armor wasn't significantly a part of warband gameplay, which is a problem. Armor in warband MP was prohibitively expensive and not particularly useful given the money you had to pay for it. I guess one needs to make a distinction between gameplay and realism, but (IRL) even a well made padded gambeson offered substantial protection against spears and arrows, and chainmail + gambeson would make you nigh invulnerable to anything that didn't chop your unprotected legs, or just hit you hard enough with blunt trauma to kill you anyways. Warband didn't really represent that, armor just weighed you down and shaved off a pathetic amount of damage from some attacks Weapons need to do more base damage and armor needs to provide more protection, then silly playstyles in MP would just be less viable, but still a fun/challenging thing to do.
Armor is so usless in MP that you preform better just going in naked with a big sword/axe.
It would also just be cool to have armor be an actual tactical factor in combat rather than just be (you need to hit this guy x-more times) Like having to actually use the thrust attack on your sword to be able to penetrate somebody's chainmail hauberk, or take slashes at their legs/forearms if those areas are unarmored. [editline]7th August 2015[/editline] Technically this stuff was in warband, but since so few people actually wore armor in warband MP it rarely came up as an actual feature. If armor did more protection-wise and was more affordable then I think the combat would just be a lot more in-depth than just being a bunch of naked guys running around with warhammers doing 360 spin attacks
In MP armour basically saves you from ranged fire and nothing else With the best helmet as infantry you can generally survive a solid headshot from anything that isn't a javelin and being naked and getting body-hit by an expensive ranged set up generally puts you in "sliver of health" territory My memory could be fuzzy but I think you can survive 3 hits to the body from archer fire in heavy armour compared to 2 while naked but a crossbow will kill anything in 2 body shots, but won't kill a naked person in one
What I find interesting is how the date for Bannerlord is 1060.
What I find interesting is how the date for Bannerlord is 1060.
Since they've announced the game it's been intended as a prequel to warband. About how the calradian empire is falling apart into three factions.
Apparently there's also clan structures now, which is a pretty cool feature. So the empire might be comprised of three different noble houses, and I assume the tribal societies like the sturgians, battanians and khuzaits will hopefully have a whole shitload of clans. Really excited for the batannian faction, that whole pict/briton/gael cultural style is an all-together new concept for M&B. Can't wait to live in godamn hillfort and huck darts at my lowly enemies
I want those sweet late rome legionnaire outfits, if we can customize our armies in Bannerlord I'll make sure to outfit those guys with this:
The dark ages is a shitty period for armour aesthetic IMO but late Roman legionnaires look pretty awesome so I guess it isn't a total loss I liked the flexibility of M&B Warband in that everything from plate to heavy mail to loads of different lamellar and plate coats could be found

They might still have some of these later period inspired helmets for example. [THumb]https://www.taleworlds.com/Images/Gallery/BannerlordArtwork_18.jpg[/thumb]
So no Bascinets? What a shame.
So no Bascinets? What a shame.
Don't write them off entirely, just because they don't appear in that concept art, doesn't mean they're definitely not appearing.
I hope they appear in the game. They're my favourite helmets. Guess we'll see. Also I really like that we can make our own swords in Bannerlord.
Immediate mod that I hope for in Butterlord is a good 1257 AD mod. This time without Latinus Nameus Fuckingus Confusicus and "ERROR_THING_BROKE_AGAIN" every 5 seconds.
i hope we see a young king harlaus in bannerlord and he's just a fat little kid who cant stop eating
I downloaded a bunch of Warband nods last night, I'll give first impressions of them later.
him and his fucking feasts jesus
i hope we see a young king harlaus in bannerlord and he's just a fat little kid who cant stop eating
Harlaus is throwing children parties every 3rd week cause its his birthday, and post-birthday party, and post-post birthday party, and post-post-post birthday party.
Anyone know how to change the font in a mod? Some of these that I downloaded have shit tier unreadable fonts.
Mod impressions 1429 la Guerre de Cent Ans - French made mod about the 100 Years War; requires a translation pack. Font is ehhh, didn't play much because of it. Seems REALLY well put together though. 1794: Kosciuszku Uprising - Polish made mod about the Kosciuszku Uprising in 1794, translation is not really done yet. Some lines are half in English, half in Polish. I'd wait until it's fully translated to check out, otherwise a really interesting mod with a lot of good looking content. Fires of War 1.04 - It's a mod about the Greco-Persian wars I REALLY wanted to like but out of all the mods I downloaded the fucking font is probably the worst. Like I really, REALLY wanted to like this. But look at this god awful font. I took Ancient Greek in High School so it probably is bugging me more than it should but its still a shitty font. Can recommend if you're looking to fuck around. Battle maps are nice. Also probably the best font ever used in a Warband mod (ITS CLEAR AND YOU CAN READ IT) Nova Aetas v 2.01 - Calradia but in the early, early Renaissance (like 1423 iirc). Wanted to play more of this BUT GOD DAMN THAT FUCKING ASS FONT. As bad, or nearly as bad as the font in Fires of War. [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/438325988317454342/FA97492E7CEF52B53E550EC4B970B98D81F863F7/[/t] Sands of Faith - Crusades, set in the holy land. Great concept, questionable font choice once again. I'd like to read what I'm playing. So any Mount and Blade mod developers out there - STOP TRYING TO USE "IMMERSIVE" FONTS. JUST USE SOMETHING PEOPLE CAN READ AND I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT PEOPLE WILL BE FAR MORE IMMERSED IN YOUR MOD THAT WAY.
does anyone know if the viking dlc ever got updated or patched or anything? last i remember it seemed to crash a lot for people and glitches were aplenty.
It just got a big patch like a week and a half ago. Now it's called "Viking Conquest - Reforged Edition"
Am I the only one who feels its odd to put earthly religions in Calradia?
Yeah that's strange, I don't have an issue with some nondescript monotheistic religion being in the game, but references to specific deities and prophets in a madeup gameworld is a really weird mashup
Am I the only one who feels its odd to put earthly religions in Calradia?
That mod is insane, it has an Aztec kingdom in this weird Island place. It's balls to the wall weird.

Okay! Word of warning for people planning on playing 1257 AD as an English lord Welsh bowmen are literally all a bunch of Simo Hayhas. Got in a 3v2 lord-to-lord fight, England-v-Wales. I decided to try and flank their archers, since they still suffer from the M&B Archer AI that doesn't understand what to do when charged and I thought I'd be able to massacre them. I charge up over the hill, draw sword rather than bow aaand *fwwth**fwwrth**fweeth**fweet* Horse is dead. *fwwt**fweweth**fwwwwth**fwettth* I'm incapp'd. Took literally 3 seconds.
the top tier Saethydds have like 9 Power Draw and 400 archery skill In all seriousness though the welsh archers basically deserve that reputation if the contemporary accounts are not embellishing
In the war against the Welsh, one of the men of arms was struck by an arrow shot at him by a Welshman. It went right through his thigh, high up, where it was protected inside and outside the leg by his iron cuirasses, and then through the skirt of his leather tunic; next it penetrated that part of the saddle which is called the alva or seat; and finally it lodged in his horse, driving so deep that it killed the animal.
:wow:
well fuck fighting against the welsh then
Does anybody remember the Timeless Kingdom mod for the original Mount & Blade? I'm still wishing for that to be ported to Warband.
