I was supposed to create new reload animations for The Red Wars.
But lo and behold: The official script for creating animations for M&B with Blender is obsolete because it was written in Python 2.0 while Blender uses Python 3.0 these days :frown:

This right here, as I've stated many times before, that specific time period is ripe for some attention.

Did I miss the release date? I wonder if we get another year of silence or if they will show more and more until the game releases hopefully early next year.

the coolest thing ever for bannerlord would be a multiplayer campaign.

That would be very interesting, the only thing I think about is what would happen when the players engaged in a menu. Since in Warband, the World map pauses whenever you enter a city, look at your inventory, talk to a lord etc. That would simply not work in a co-op campaign, and will have to be replaced with something else (most likely a removal of the pause system).
However, the idea of a combined battle taking place between two player-managed army would be nuts. If you've played the Commander Battle mode in NW you know what I am talking about.
n players control a single war party, which follows all of their clicks.
Menus are shared too.

I'd suppose one thing that'd be difficult would be the map of the world, and how a long a battle goes on. What if a player decides to join a battle, and how long would a battle have to be?

I need some help in Viking Conquest. I [sp] want to defend Doccinga from Sven's assault. I have a few Norse Freeholders, 5 veteran mercenaries, a priest, reginhard and 4 young warriors. How should I go about fighting the battle, winning and with the fewest losses possible?[/sp]

I seem to remember that you got a lot of free villagers to help you in the defense, and all shields are good. Since swarming is what the A.I. does best, positioning your troops in a solid shieldwall formation (like a block, not a line - multiple rows) will make [sp]Sven and his men[/sp] overwhelmed once they start attacking your "testudo" of peasants. It doesn't matter that they're farmers with shields and sticks - their attacks stagger your enemies just as much as a Huscarl's. This will make the enemy unable to attack or defend and be slaughtered. Then the next attacker charges forward towards his death and so on until all foes have been killed. That's how I solved it.
Gonna start up my first game of Mount & Blade Warband. Anyone have a good guide to get started? What's the best starting area?

With the way the game is set up, each of the first options in char creation are for the best(and probably the easiest) first time. It was for me at least.

swadia is the best starting area, because you only have to deal with looters and forest bandits
in the nordic woodlands you have to deal with the spawn of satan himself, sea raiders. You have to deal with taiga bandits in vaegir territory, which have good gear and can wreck your shit with javelins. the khergits have steppe bandits which have horses. horses are NOT good in the early game if they're fighting you. sarranids also have horse bandits. rhodoks have mountain bandits, who perform well in mountains, which is where they fight most of the time.
Generally speaking, the bandit power levels go: looter -> forest robber (need shields for these guys) -> mountain bandits -> taiga bandits -> Steppe and desert bandits (their horses make them very dangerous) -> sea raiders (I VILL DRINK FROM YOUR SKULL).
Also, check out the arena early on. It helps for practice and lets you get decent money if you manage to down a lot of dudes. It's about 2000 denars for beating all the enemies. If you need money don't hesitate to be a merchant for a bit. I don't remember what the most lucrative trade routes are, but buying date fruit in khergit lands and selling them in Praven or Sargoth gets you a pretty penny (watch out for the khergit bandits tho).
Most importantly, have fun!
You can command your troops, with the back space key. If you're fighting cavalry, have your troops bunch up by clicking "Stand closer" several times.
Find tournaments, bet all your money on yourself and begin building your empire.
