A shame there's not a single good western mod for warband
1866 was pretty good imo there's another one but i can't remember the name off the top of my head
1866 was pretty good imo there's another one but i can't remember the name off the top of my head
I've never played that one, the only "Western" faction I've played as is the Cowboys in FI2, which to be fair was quite one-sided and not really the best faction out there. You said that 1866 was good, so I assume that you've played a bit. How did it play? Was the shootouts like proper western fire fights or was it more like the Line Warfare of, say L'Aigle? Because I recently ended a L'Aigle campaign because I - like a lot of people - ran into an eternal stalemate and I didn't really want to provoke wars by creating a new faction yet again (I end up doing that quite a lot). But I'm thinking of trying this mod out but I am not sure if it's worth time from my Perisno and ACOK playthroughs.
1866 is for regular m&b, not warband. id say 1866 is one of the best mods ever made for m&b, definitely worth a play.
Gabrilduro is an asshole.
Gabrilduro is an asshole.
1866 wasn't made by Gabrilduro, it was an old team from the original M&B days that has since disbanded. You're probably thinking of 1860s old america or any of the other mods he made with a garbage empty map of north america.
Gabrilduro is an asshole.
TBH I wouldn't mind him being an asshole if his work wasn't utter shit, but well, it's utter shit.
i'm sure it's been answered already, but does anyone know of any frontier mods for either mb or warband? i know there's persistent frontier but it's mp only and i'd rather have a sp mod.

I am so goddamn excited for bannerlord, I wish they would give us a date already.
I am so goddamn excited for bannerlord, I wish they would give us a date already.
best not give an exact date, lets them relax, you know? Don't want the Butterlord to rush his feasts.
I really hope Bannerlord has implemented a decent physics engine, siege equipment will feel so lackluster if the projectiles just follow a predetermined path.
predetermined path.
It's not like a parabolic trajectory is anything but. [editline]9th February 2016[/editline] Oh right you mean you aim the damn things
[t]http://i.imgur.com/0fby1d6.jpg[/t] ohshitohshit
TWENTY MOTHERFUCKING SIXTEEN?
anus preparations beginning.
I am so goddamn excited for bannerlord, I wish they would give us a date already.
NEVER EVER
So apparently 40 minutes of Bannerlord gameplay footage is going to be released in the next few weeks, https://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/News/146
[t]http://i.imgur.com/0fby1d6.jpg[/t] ohshitohshit
Normally when I see words like "accessibility" I get worried, but over the years I feel like taleworlds is pretty much the only game development company that I have complete confidence in, even when they use dumb-down rhetoric; I'm still sure they do it tastefully without damaging any of the stuff that made warband such a nuanced game. They don't set their sights too high, they don't hype or bluster, and they are just thoroughly competent within almost every single element of the game, from gameplay to graphics. Like when big RPG games like Fallout, ES, Dragon Age, Mass Effect release there's always a variably large spoonful of bitter disappointment included with the game in pretty much every sense (graphics, modding, pricepoints, story, etc) but I'm earnestly confident that Bannerlord is going to be a tremendously solid title all around with few to no disappointments hiding under it's surface. [editline]21st February 2016[/editline] hopefully I don't eat those words :worried:
I'm sure that when they say accesibility, they mean that various features aren't squirreled away or have shitty tutorials
obscure features or unintuitive menus aren't really a virtue even if it's possible to get past them
Finally we will get to see some real gameplay. Cant wait.
It's not good that it's taken almost 4 years to get any really. The game looks great but i don't think they've been open enough with the development. A fairly short blog post about a single feature every few months isn't a good way of doing things. It still doesn't feel like they've really shown anything significant, other than the last trailer.
Back in my day, games took 4 years to make and publishers were completely silent about it until 6 months from release.
Back in my day, games took 4 years to make and publishers were completely silent about it until 6 months from release.
It seems like a long time because they announced the game way sooner than they wanted to. One of those other shitty medieval fighting games like War of the Roses or something was coming out and they said people were confusing it with Mount and Blade so they announced their own game and gave it a title just so people understood that it was on the way.
Bannerlord is being streamed on youtube tomorrow at 16:00 GMT 0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qe6g0_HRexw
there are some video recordings out but they are so shitty its not worth watching. if anyone had directfeed recordings of the presentation give em here

stream starting in a minute: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qe6g0_HRexw [editline]6th March 2016[/editline] That was a really nice stream, definitely feels like familiar Mount and Blade, but with update graphics, UI, and new features (such as replacing bandits in town with your own men). i can't wait.
I really like the look and feel of the castle places you can walk around in and the taverns they feel more alive than previous M&B games. Helps that they look nicer too with better graphics. I can already see myself going on personal wars to fuck with lords that have personally gotten in my way. Will target their towns for crime among other things weaken them so they become less of a problem later on as I proceed with my world domination.
