Oh boy. I sure did forget just how ridiculously strong the khergit are.

Nah. One good Swad Knight charge and you can have like 3 casualties to their 200.

Swadian knights don't help much when I'm a freelancer in a Vaegir war party.
I've been playing Warsword Conquest recently, been pretty great. I've started my own faction in the south and have taken almost half of the Lizardmen's land.
My only complaint is that the 'good' factions are a little too strong, the dwarves are beating the orcs, the kislev are beating chaos, the empire has almost killed off the vampires, bretonia is beating beastmen, and skaven have been killed off by wood elves.
I have M&B, warband and with fire and sword but I have no idea which is the best out of them all to play?
You play them all, in release order. Also, wfas has the least amount of mods, but has guns built into it, so it depends on whether you want early medieval or late medieval.

fair enough, I wasn't sure if it was one of those games where one was pretty much just better than the rest of them, I shall do that then
Warband is just an improvement of M&B.
I think warband would be the best of them because of the sheer quantity and quality of the mods. I also prefer it as the base game but that could be just me

I still haven't finished my warband campaign [sp](somebody give me political advice most of my towns are poor and I'm winning entirely on virtue of military)[/sp] so I haven't dicked around with mods too much, but are there any good fantasy mods? I haven't given any of them a try because they look pretty amateur but I'm mostly just interested in if they're fun or not

[sp]get noticed by royalty and invited to a feast. when at said feast, try to seduce as many of the ladies as you can. continue to raise your speech related skills and eventually one should fall head over heels for you iirc. also, definitely look into forming alliances with other towns.[/sp]
i always here prophesy of pendor and phantasy calradia are good.

i conquered half the world for swadia and they constantly refused giving me land in return so i started my own kingdom with no idea how to manage it and i have a giant blob of land from all the people who have declared war on me then later requested peace after i ruined them. i don't know if seducing ladies would help at this point but it sounds worth a shot i suppose. I try to do quests for my people whenever i'm not constantly getting declarations of war but it's hard to keep their financial status up and lords just fuckin hate my guts v:v:v
i always here prophesy of pendor and phantasy calradia are good.
maybe i'll give 'em a go then
Pendor has a lot of added audio that I found weird and annoying.
If your like warhammer, warsword conquest is good. Also the last days of the third age was a good lotr mod, but it crashed for me a lot so I never played it much
I've always found Prophesy of Pendor to be the most enjoyable mod as it has insane late game challenge by making the standard troops very strong and having some armies that have hundreds of super elite troops and occasionally insanely strong characters like nearly invincible demons. It also has a massive amount of custom items.
Why is it easier to win 1 v 200 Dena pirates in Brytenwalda than it is to win the tournament? If I get forced to use a spear I always seem to lose.
I'm admin of a new server (not mine, though) on NW, ConquerTheCastle, it's effectively fast paced siege on battle mode. Rounds are expected to be very fast and you only have 1 life per round. I've made 7 maps for it so far :v:
It's still in 'beta' right now, but it's public. Feel free to have a look but it won't be that active yet.
Nah. One good Swad Knight charge and you can have like 3 casualties to their 200.
A swadian knight charge wrecks pretty much everything outside sieges in vanilla warband. That's my personal experience with them at least.
30-40 swadian knights are enough to beat 400+ armies provided that your tactics skill is high enough imo. I thought a rhodok spear wall would stop them but since formations are shite in the base game and there's no spear bracing it doesn't really work. Rhodok sharpshooters are fearsome though, when well protected.
Vaegirs go down like paper in any battle. They have weak infantry, weak cavalry, and mediocre archers(supposedly the best in the game but doesn't appear like it)
Sarranids are like a better version of vaegirs.
Khergits are pretty good in whittling down enemy numbers in long, drawn out battles, but their light armor and unarmored horses(random) make their melee units pretty easy to down.
Nords are scary af to fight when you're dismounted. Pretty much a joke when you're mounted though, if you disregard their nasty throwing weapons.
Charging at rhodoks requires more caution because of their long pointy spears but it gets pretty easy once you go around them and start murdering their archer units first.
Swadians have mediocre infantry but their nice cavalry is easily obtainable by players. Pretty easy to fight unless the AI uses more than a handful of knights. Those things are ridiculous tanks.
Nord huscarls are best for sieges iirc?
there's a lot of great archers from about every faction that can just oblitherate castle defenders but nords are bar none some of the best infantrymen you can get
imo the best of the best are mercenary knights and sword maidens. they have some of the heaviest armor in the game and can just take on entire armies without even getting scratched
Nord huscarls are best for sieges iirc?
my strategy for sieges is rushing my tanky as fuck character up the siege gear with my shield out blocking all the archers and then running along the castle walls stabbing all the archers until my hoard of retards can make it up and start stabbin with me v:v:v
mlg siege strat: try and jump over your men charging and just kinda float over their heads until you get to the top of the ladder, then cut down all the defending units while the AI is still focused on your men still climbing up

Can confirm this is the most effective siege tactic.

Also, use your floating powers to get behind the conglomeration of enemy units blocking the ladder from your units and just start swinging until your men burst through like a retarded sink.
I had a few cheese siege strats I used. One is where you get a very small army of super elite heavy infantry troops. Mods that let you get absurdly powerful elite troops like PoP work better here. Siege a castle with your small force and they'll sally out to meet you. Out in the open, you can wipe out their sally force with your much smaller force. They won't respawn during a sally fight so it's an easy way to remove 100 or so defenders from a siege.
Also, easy thing is to just get a huge army of all archers and chill and pick off defenders.

New blog post up. Mostly just wraps up the E3 siege info. One extra thing they mentioned though is that lords can have companions in their party now just like the player.
good, more VIPs to capture or 'pressure' to change mind and come with me ;)
Jesus, tournament chaining can get pretty crazy. Had five tournaments in a row with the same city in two days. Left 70k richer.
having archer armies is so much fun, especially early game when large looter groups still pose a threat
had about 50 archers sitting on-top a hill while i ran around on my horse behind the enemy
it NEVER stops being funny going 1v1 with some dude when an arrow explodes into his face right in front of you
This game is pretty fun I just got it on the summer sale. My characters mission is to crush puss all over the world.
I think my least favorite part of Warband is sieges, it gets very boring very quickly. Constant sieging is what makes me abandon saves. I'm glad they're changing it up with Bannerlords.

Indeed, ever since that Bannerlord e3 video I just can't play Warband anymore.
