Alright, so I just installed Anno 1257 and it's patch (I'm pretty sure I installed both correctly) and I'm running into some problems with running it.
Specifically, I hit play and I just get a "get_object failed for texture: arabian_armor_a_specular." Has anyone else got this error? More importantly, how would I go about fixing it?
What makes it weirder is I have the texture in the pertinent file.
anyone got an upload for imperium romanum mod, i can't find a link
Warband player here, 206 hours currently playing blood and steel
i like blood and steel but everyone has so many fucking units, it makes battles too long

Wait I was thinking of Blood and Iron, carry on.
What are the best units in the vanilla game? I'm thinking it's something like Swadian Knights for Calvary, Vaegir Marksman/Khergit for Archers, Nord Huscarls for infantry? If someone else has the right list, that'd be awesome.

For me it is Swadian Knights for cavalry (although I like to throw in a few Khergit Lancers and Mamelukes for variety's sake), Nord Huscarls for infantry, and Rhodok Veteran Crossbowmen or whatever they are called for archers. Khergit Horse Archers are useless since the AI has no clue how to use them.

I'm 95% sure this is correct. Don't take the Rhodok Crossbow on regular battles unless you can get them a good vantage point to snipe from.
Anyone got the Imperium Romanum mod? There are no links, even on the official forum

Seems like an awesome mod in concept, but the combat is totally fucked. Javelins are insane. Javelins in brytenwalda were nuts enough, but imperium romanum took it to whole new heights of absurdity. You can basically throw a flightless skirmishing javelin 150 meters.
Also doesn't seem like they changed the nobleman names. The 620 AD pictish king is still ruling like 500 years earlier.. long lived man
I've never gotten this far in a Native campaign, and I was only captured once. ONCE.
-snip automerge broken-
That Imperium Romanum mod looks pretty slick, been needing Roman themed things to hold me over till the release of Total War: Rome II.

Do people still play Napoleonic Wars?
Do people still play Napoleonic Wars?
Aw hell yeah! Just make sure you join a regiment, you'll participate in Linebattles and Stuff.

Also, I'm having trouble installing Imperium Romanum, it says the installer or something is corrupted and I need to download it again. I downloaded it again and it said the same thing. Any help?

I got the DLC a few weeks ago, only played it once so far, what's the easiest way to get into it? It looked quite confusing.

NW is a strange beast, one that I've been riding since the beginning. I always recommend to new players to join a regiment for NW, you gain experience, friends, learn how to do melee tricks etc... On top of that you can grab a few of your new friends and invade a public server and kick ass together for the glory of your regiment.
[del]Join the 8th we're the best regiment NA, not the 12th those fools who are co-led by a former 8th member from MM! (I kid, Tico I still love 'ya)[/del].
I wrote a guide on picking a good regiment.
Y'know, in Fire & Sword, I always had a tendency to capture bandits and brigands, then force them to march into battle with a rifle to their backs. After awhile, i had entire penal brigades marching into the meat grinder.

I think AD 1257 is objectively the best warband mod in terms of the volume of content, content qaulity and the overall scale and realism of the mod.
Floris mod and Brytenwalda are also worth a go.
Part if me is worried that Mount and Blade 2 will be like the change from Mount and Blade to Warband. While the improvements make the game better, all Warband really did of huge importance was add another faction and multiplayer if I recall and I hope Bannerlords doesn't suffer a similar fate.
Better animation support, cleaner hit detection, being able to precisely control your weapon swings from horseback, tangent space coordinates support, implementation of normal maps (party like it's 2002!), etc. Warband wasn't even said to be a sequel. It was just mount and blade 1: warband. Handful of engine and graphical improvements and some gameplay changes.
M&B: 2 on the other hand is a sequel and from the very little alpha footage leaked so far, the player models are drastically better at least. Wish they'd finally show some proper media though.
Any mods (other than Floris and Blood and Steel) that add lots of features but keeps the original factions and map?

Funny thing is, is that they apparently are using even better stuff, and the stuff showed in the alpha footage isn't going to be used.
there are only two things i hope they add to bannerlords; the ability to hit multiple targets with one attack and smoother/more fluid animation
