This. Hoping for this as well. Need more nations , more troop types, more single player campaign, more EVERYTHING because it is all so good.
My only real complaint with NW is the lack of diversity. I get that balance is key, but some troop differentiation in terms of stats, and some differing item values (cuirasses, helmets, and jackboots are made of paper) would be amazing if fleshed out and balanced properly.

Maybe an organ as well?

Napoleonic Wars already has an organ, it's just that more maps use the piano

I like to play this game on Permadeath, whenever your character gets killed you delete the save. It's hard to get very far but it really makes the battles come alive. Suddenly scuffles with a few sea raiders becomes super intense.

This sounds fun until get far enough to consider becoming king and the next thing that happens is you take a javalin to the back of the head and die during a winning battle.
Question about Viking Conquest storymode. So I just started and I'm at the part where the lord who gives you the first few quests asks you to kill his king. Right after someone tells you something about it being fishy and then your quests are like 1. go kill the king for the lord guy or 2. if you happen to be in danmark, go talk to some guy for reasons.
I went to Denmark and talked to the guy but nothing happens if I do. Anyone know how to progress that quest?

40gb? Holy shit. Ain't Warband on 2gb or something? Not saying 40 gb is insanely much or anything, but its quite a jump, and from what we have seen in vids and pic up until now, graphics don't seem to have improved THAT much?
Looks like a huge improvement to me from the screenshots. Not just that, but it's not only about quality but quantity. Warband had a lot of copy pasted town layouts and a lot of things looked pretty much the same. Multiply the quantity and quality of assets and you can start to eat up space pretty quick I guess. Remember when titanfall released on PC as 48GB file size and it turned out there was 35GB of uncompressed audio? I do v:v:v
Steam award time.

Any news on Bannerlord II this year so far? I haven't been able to find any.
Also what do people think of Blood & Gold: Caribbean? It's essentially a Mount & Blade game from the people who made With Fire & Sword. Looks good but it has some mixed reviews on steam.

Biggest take away for me is that expecting any alpha/beta release in the next two months would leave you disappointed.
How they've kept us informed about progress on the game seems to have been handled really badly. After telling us basically nothing about the game except extremely short blog posts every few months for several years we finally got to see some more complete gameplay, and then a year after that they tell us (Not even on their site) it's nowhere near ready even for early access, some features haven't even started yet and are still just "planned" and expecting it anytime soon is too hopeful despite it being 4 years since announcement...I'm very much looking forward to the game but none of that is a good thing. They haven't even given us any indication of the year they're hoping to release in.
As excited as I am for Bannerlord I feel like by the time it has finally been released I will have forgotten about it and probably not notice until it pops up in sale one day.
Its a shame how little is communicated about the game and its current state.
It's like they're afraid to release it, fearing that there'd be backlash, or that people would demand that it be a 100% polished game...
...but early access is built for exactly that. Stamping out those problems.
I'm sure a huge majority of M&B players would gladly pay for the early access version, buggy or not, to help the developers understand what needs to be done/what should be tweaked.
Hell I'd pay full price for EA of Butterlord
I'm actually kind of glad they haven't went early access with this game. They want to make sure it's as polished as it can be before even announcing new features, let alone releasing the game. Valve used to be praised for delaying games and taking their sweet ass time polishing a game before release. Now every 2nd game that's coming out runs on the early access model, and I'm honestly tired of it. You end up playing the game before it's ready, sinking countless hours into it, and by the time it's ready for full release, you're already burnt out on it.
I'm most excited for this game because I know one day a release date will be announced, it won't be far away, and the first time I play it will be in it's full glory. The most I'd like to see out of this is a closed beta, and I don't even want to be in it.
I'm kind of torn between both options
On one hand. EA is horridly overused and used incorrectly. As well as the possibility that people will downvote it or flat out hate it since some people think EA means it's 100% polished and that it's just missing features
But on the other hand, I'm worried that they want it to be 100% polished to a shine and have every feature fully done and tested. Which I don't think they'll be able to do without a horde of players to break everything, then having the devs fix it later.
I feel like this wouldn't be so bad if they just talked about what they're working on via blog post or the equivalent of an paradox dev diary. (I know they already do this, but perhaps increasing their frequency)

How does that make any difference? If you don't like early access, just don't but the game in early access. No one is going to make you to play the game before release.
It's not the same situation as just delaying the game, it's poor communication. If the game had a release date announced and then was delayed, that would be fine. That isn't what's happened though, instead they've told us almost nothing about the game, eventually showed us some proper gameplay which suggested it wouldn't be too long until it was out (and they did nothing to correct that assumption), and then a year later in an interview that isn't even on their own site they've told us it's nowhere near ready and they haven't even started some things. That's a lot worse than just delaying the game.
The gaming community is spoiled. We complain when there is early access, and we complain when there is not. Imo alot of people come across as whiny and childish, give it some time. I'm just happy there will be a second Mount & Blade, and I'm happy for the devblogs we get. Nothing has been taken from me, only given.
They have a decent player base and community who are really eager to get their hands on the next M&B game and that can really put on the pressure to put out a good product. The original M&B didn't have the levels of expectations this one has. Not only that people weren't thrilled when the vikings dlc came out and was rather plagued with issues until the reforged edition came out. Also from the info we do have it appears the game still has ideas and features potentially key to the experience of Bannerlord that have not even properly been started yet let alone working concepts. Considering they are saying now is not the right time to talk about unrevealed aspects of the game I think it is safe to say they want the full core experience of Bannerlord to be at least partially working before they put the game into peoples hands finished or not.
I really cannot wait as I love M&B but I understand their hesitance to put the game into peoples hands. The game seems to still be in an alpha state and it is appearing that they want it to be in a beta state or near to it before we can start playing it or aspects of it.
It'll also probably take them some time to make sure the modding tools are working correctly considering how big modding was with the first game.
Honestly, they don't know what works and doesn't - apart from what already exists in Warband. It'll take some time for them to figure it all out, and I expect the game design aspect of the game is incredibly complex compared to other games, so its a huge step between concepts and execution. I'm all fine with them not having shown much because its still in such an early stage. Im sure they will show off much more closer to release.
[editline]19th January 2017[/editline]
It doesnt even seem to be in alpha state if you ask me.
During the pc gamer interview i kind of remember taleworlds saying they wanted the game in the players hand in some form before the end of the year (2016).
Hate being this hyped for a game that seems so far away zxzzzzzz
I think what I want most is an improved political system that makes being a noble more interesting, playing the political aspects in eventually in a campaign.

The original Mount and Blade was early access and it was because it was being developed by 2 people by themselves and they needed whatever income they could get. Buying the game was literally paying the devs to keep working on it. It was one of the only good examples of early access I can think of. For Bannerlord though, they have a full team with the resources of the publisher behind them, there's no reason to do early access and the only reason people want it is because they're desperate to play the game.

For me it's less about just wanting the game and more they've mishandled keeping players up to date on progress and haven't really told us much at all, we haven't even have a release year for the game mentioned yet. I know games development takes a long time but it's been 4 years now and after telling us basically nothing for the first few years, they implied it wouldn't be too long until release and then suddenly said months later it's nowhere near ready at all, and some things haven't even been started. I just wish we had something and they'd keep us informed properly.
