What difficulty do you guys play at?
I typically play the game at the hardest it lets you, or equal everything.
Went recruiting earlier on NW EU Official 1 earlier, me and 10 of my other friends in the regiment managed to get nearly our entire team into a line. was really impressive seeing this massive line being led through the map while getting picked off by enemy muskets. should have the video up soon

Anno Domini 1257 got a big update and it's at it's final 1.0 version. http://mbwarband.nexusmods.com/mods/1746/?tab=2&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D1746&pUp=1 Looks like it has a new phong/specular shader as well, similar to the one used in L'aigle. Also some crossbow textures I made got put in :v: [editline]5th August 2013[/editline] :quagmire: [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/CWyhMh.jpg[/t]
Did they fix how laggy the map is? That's literally my only gripe with it.
That's not something you can fix when there's like a thousand+ parties on screen at once. I just make sure not to use ctrl + spacebar when I'm in hostile territory, that avoids running into any unwanted dirty peasants
When one plays single-player, would you consider it wrong to, every time your character reaches a medium-high level, level 35 or something, reset your XP so that you never hit the stage of nigh-impossible levelling up and can still level up skills and attributes? I've had a lot of fun doing it, because getting a character with many level 10 skills and incredibly high weapon proficiencies is brilliant, being able to casually march around a battlefield and hammer Swadian knights into the dirt with a wooden stick you took from looters is just so much fun. Also, getting all the named characters together in the same party, all with high levels of trainer is down-right OP.
How do you reset exp?
Export the character, change the XP to however low you want it to be and then import it back in.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. I do it whenever I create my own kindgom since conquering Calradia (or wherever) for yourself is difficult and time consuming, so to make it less tedious I just make myself horribly overpowered. Considering I still have to face armies that outnumber me 8 to 1, I'd say it's still fair.
One of my favorite things is to make a character with silly stats, and then go around in a fine suit carrying naught but a bag of pebbles and a walking stick. In battle, he would run to the enemy army, overtaking the horses and going so fast it is terrifying. Throwing all of his pebbles, it would pierce the armor of even the most heavily armored knight and knock him out cold with a single throw. I would then casually take out my walking stick and proceed to clear the field.
If I start editing my character, I usually either just add money or just add money and max out the more annoying stuff to get. Leadership, Prisoner Management, Charisma (to 30), and Weapon Master, or whatever that damn skill is that limits your max weapon skill levels. Primarily just the last one, because fuck I hate that skill.
Me and a few buddies downloaded the persistent world mod, and we unanimously concluded that all the servers are full of assholes

My character's name is Barash the Hateful and basically the entire campaign he's been going apeshit on the Crimean Khanate. I buy Muscovite mercenary riflemen, equip them with the best armor, cheapest horses, a gun, ammo, and a sword + shield. I then take this squad of what is basically dragoons in heavy armor and have them raid the Crimean villages, stopping only to sell my wares as well as killing off any Crimean forces weak enough for my men to tackle. Over time, as I destroyed more and more Crimean armies, I eventually got an invite from the Cossacks. The factions in WF&S are really stingy about deciding whether or not to invite you. Unless you want to dedicate a couple months to slaughtering their enemies (which you'll do anyway as a lord), you're better off just walking up to their leader and asking to join.
How exactly do you edit your chars stats this sounds fun
How exactly do you edit your chars stats this sounds fun
When you press <C> and open the character screen, in the bottom left corner there's a button labeled "Statistics". It opens a new menu where you can Import/Export your character. Exporting your character creates a text file in C:\Users\(yournamehere)\Documents\Mount&Blade Warband\Characters that you can edit. When you're finished editing your stats, simply import your character.
Does anyone here play the multiplayer anymore? Last few days I popped back on for a little hacky slashy, and ended up finding that the only populated server was a siege server that was virtually always Nords defending against Sarranids and resulting in the usual "Nord Team wins 3-0, having raped everyone with two handed axes that break your shield in two hits and kill you regardless of armor in 1." Am I missing something critical regarding blocking and combat, or are they really just that fucking overpowered in MP?
I rarely play the game these days but when I do I play Mercenaries online, though currently I'm installing cRPG and I'm gonna try that - it's been like years since I played it, when it was still in beta.

Also manual blocking is probably the most important mechanic in the game if you want to live.
I've been looking through some of the game dialogue files. Some of the mission failure dialogue is pretty funny. You know that quest where you have to take care of a pesky merchant? Well, here's what's said if you actually lose the fight against the merchant.
Oh, it's you. Enlighten me, how exactly does one lose a simple fight to some poxy, lowborn merchant? Truly, if I ever need my guardsmen to take a lesson in how to lay down and die, I'll be sure to come to you. Just leave me be, {playername}, I have things to do.
AWWW YEAH Europe 1200 just got updated! http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,286197.0.html
http://steamcommunity.com/groups/baguettes I'm going to try and revive this. We're not an actual serious group but what we'd be doing is just going around having fun on different servers, and just general fuckery, the whole thing will be recorded and edited to hopefully be funnier so if you're interested, join the group and send me a message http://steamcommunity.com/id/eeshton
Been playing 1257. Started as a low english noble with a French holding and supported the crown in their wars against Wales and Ireland, come the eventual war with France I gave up my holding and started a life as a captain of a mercenary company, trading along the way, I found wealth in the salt trade. Buying from poland and selling in various places as currency for the iron and tool trade. I buy iron in various places and sell it in Italy for three times the price. From my work as a mercenary I invested my pay into my trade and various shops across europe. Being a mercenary for the crown of Aragon for some time, I eventually settled in Hungary, who was waging war in the Baltic lands for some land in Prussia and lithuania. I took part in it as a mercenary and after a month and a half of service under the command of the King, I asked for permission to be a vassal and was granted a fief in the conquered heathen lands. Though my lands, I cannot use the heathens as a levy, for they are not righteous and cause a morale penalty, and so I continue to employ my company. Using men from all over Christendom, I have welshmen as Archers, my loyal nobleman companions as heavy cav, mercenary horsemen as cheap, affordable and expendable light cav. Various heavy infantry to support the cav, and a solid mind to form the men up and the proper tactics to exploit them. I'm rich, have a wife and a brother in law who rules, and though deposed from the lands I came from, I find friends and riches to the east.
