The retro lancer took a good 3 seconds to kill anyone, the hammerburst only takes 5 rounds. Pretty much every weapon is better for actually killing than the retro lancer, which is more useful for pinning people down.
In the beta I almost never died from the retro lancer, it was mostly the gnasher and the lancer.

You're either lucky or never actually played against people that used the retro lancer constantly. Retro lancer downed me in nearly 4 shots every time.

I used the retro lancer all the time, and it does not take 4 shots to down people. Also the retro lancer has an effective range slightly farther than the gnasher.
They changed the retro lancer that when you blind fire with it you'll end up looking at the ceiling within like 3-4 shots so now you have to aim.
I personally think I'll like the retro lancer more than the normal one. Bayonet is pretty badass, even moreso than the chainsaw.
Can't wait for Beast mode. I've always wanted to play as a berserker and fuck shit up.

Bumping this, curious to see if anyone is playing the new one or is interested enough for me to make new thread for Gears of War 4. I've been playing it quite a bit and it's honestly fantastic
Well since the thread is already bumped, I just wanted to let people know that there isn't true crossplay. You can crossplay every mode except PvP, which might be a problem considering Gears of War's relatively weak PC playerbase.
Also yeah a Gears megathread would be neato, but I doubt it be very popular.
Bought the PC ultimate version since my brother is a huge Gears fan and I have fond memories of split screen horde in GoW2. So far I'm really liking it, but my opinion may be different as I've never really played much gears. Runs very well, I'm on an i5 2500k, R9 390, at 1080 and high-ultra settings I'm like at a very stable 60fps.
Mostly bought it for horde mode and adversarial against bots with my bro, unfortunately wingman is no longer there, loved that mode, but at least warzone and guardian are still around, love those modes.

Only Gears of War games on PC are the original, the remake (Which is on the windows 10 store), and Gears 4 (Also W10)
