You could've at the very least read the game's description. For what it is and what it's trying to be, I'd say it deserves the 94%.
I did. The description doesn't go into detail about how tedious this game is. From reading it, I expected at most an hour of work/prep and then fun.
PERKELE.
Just got done building my car, had it on a test run to make sure it wouldn't stall and yadda yadda, all fuelled up and just sitting nicely on my driveway, and then I go to sleep, didn't notice the rain outside and answered the phone, was greeted by death through electrocution.

Guess the steam store description is fairly accurate.
Wait, so answering the phone during rain kills you?
Instantly?

The game markets itself as a life survival simulator with an autistic approach on car building, and that's exactly what it is. It includes all the tediousness of life and the car building is autisticly in-depth. Don't blame the game for your own lack of research and wrong expectations.
Wait, so answering the phone during rain kills you?

I died instantly that time.
Later on I found out that sometimes lightning strikes but you don't die, or your lights cut off for a few seconds.
RNG I guess?
so I had a moment where the car didn't work so I swore at it and managed to punch the dashboard off along with the front left fender
I was going over 100 km/h on the dirt road with Death Grips blasting from the radio when my front left wheel decided to come off and I flew into a tree on full speed.
OH SHIT I'M FEELING IT
Everything was going grand, got to the village stocked up on food, beer and car stuff, almost home, take the turn in just a few meters away from the house (the T junction that leads to Loppe and the village) I was so pleased with myself and thought I was safe, it's a straight stretch from here, and then I hit a small dip in the road and died because the van went bonnet into the ground. I didn't know weather to laugh or scream in frustration.
The system for detecting where parts fit is fucking horrible.... but I love it.
Lowered the engine into chassis, built up most of the front end and a large amount of the rear. Lacking wheels and auxiliaries
Pop to shop and die in a car crash.
I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry

Especially with that death screen music

What the absolute fuck is a warning triangle? And where do I get one?
They got the vehicle inspector attitude right, one mistake and "This car is a total pile of garbage you know"
What the fuck do you americans do when your car breaks down at night?
If the battery is still running, we turn on the four-way flashers... otherwise, well, we're kinda fucked ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
MY SUMMER CAR is the ultimate car owning, building, fixing, tuning, maintenance AND permadeath life survival simulator. You start the game with hundreds of loose parts and assemble both car and engine. Not only you need to maintain your car, but yourself as well. Sausages, beer and sleeping will do just fine.

Warning, this game is not for fainted heart. Severe car fever is required to play this properly due to it's autistic approach on car building.
Dunno man, I thought it made it quite clear that you'd be assembling everything yourself and that it would not be easy.
Hear me out on this one..
Can't build car so i take the van and hit the road
Bored, drink all the beer while driving
Get into ditch, somersault and survive the crash against a tree
Moving on, i eventually got on the highway
Police is blocking the road!
Hit the break!!
Hit a police man!!!
Police start chasing me
Go over a field and they stopped chasing me after a while
Back on the road, turning around to go back where the blockade was
Get chased again, hit a road cop again because beer was blocking my vision
The cop flies into my car, breaks my windshield and gets stuck on the front seat while looking at me with his dead face
Can't drink beer because dead cop is blocking the case
Get taken over by some green sport car
Attempt to grab beer
Not paying attention to road
Van goes out of control and hits green sports car because it crashed against a slower car
ded
What a game.. Damn ShadowPlay didn't record the game sadly :pudge:
I figured out 15 year old me's password to paypal and bought it. Now it closes after starting a game from the main menu.
So long spent watching this game and I can't play it even though it's right here, so close.
turn off steam overlay for this game
No luck, it cuts out right as the sound starts and the status bars show up. Even if I can't play it I will never refund it because it was already worth the price at the trailer for me.
Can't say I'm a fan of how this game is crashing my display driver when nothing else did that in years.
Oh well, at least it recovers straight back into gameplay without locking up and erasing all my progress

If you flip you're car, it's over?
It's a goddamn wonder I haven't been shot by the police yet

Try pushing it with J, or make the long trek home to get the tractor.
How do you do the sewer jobs? I drive to truck to (what I think is) the right house and put the hose in as deep as I can, but after I empty it I have no idea where to go to get paid. Also, I can't figure out how to put the hose back onto the side of the truck when I'm done
Have you figured out the getting paid bit? Putting the hose back is as simple as grabbing the end and holding it against the place where it belongs. You should get a context option to put it back.
so what could i have done wrong if the engine wont even start. The only mechanical parts i have left over are the exhaust and handbrake cant work out how to attach them.

Are you sure you have fuel in the tank? Fluids tend to leak if you forget to tighten some microscopic bolts.
Is there any way to prevent the car frame from spazzing out like fuck when you mount the wishbones? Also I can't get the bearings to fit on the engine after mounting the crankshaft, they simply wont attach.

Robbaz time
They need to add an option to remove permadeath. It gets old after a while and you die really easily.

Each bearing has a specific place. I don't know my way around an engine enough to really tell you what goes where, but bearing2 goes in the middle :v:

There's an option you can untick at the bottom of your license when you start a new game.

Just make a backup of your save file every time you save under users/appdata/locallow/(developername)/mysummercar/saves or something

It's really much easier to just use the ingame option :v:
