Building the engine is infuriating, because parts don't go together randomly, but then go together in completely spastic positions. Also got a few parts I just don't know where to put. A manual is starting to seem necessary.
There's a good guide on the wiki, copied it and made my own notes along the way.
14.7 according to my ~mechanic~ friend.
14.7 is stoichiometric, but most engines make the most full throttle power at around 12.5 mechanics don't have any reason to know about air fuel ratios since they just do plug chops to tune the engine. ask an engine builder or a dyno operator next time
what the fuck. is it possible to buy a new hose for the truck? it's stuck at the bottom of a sewer now.
Happened to me, it was back when I saved and reloaded the game.

But then again, they've been trained to just make em' pass inspection and be as reliable as possible. But I've always been told 13:1 is a good rule-of-thumb for naturally aspirated, while 12.5:1 is for boosted.
Is there any guides (with pictures preferably) for assembling the chasis? I'm having trouble figuring out where I need to put the trail arms.
Is there any guides (with pictures preferably) for assembling the chasis? I'm having trouble figuring out where I need to put the trail arms.
trail arms are for the back wheels, the arm itself points into the car with the wheel disc being where the wheel normally is
trail arms are for the back wheels, the arm itself points into the car with the wheel disc being where the wheel normally is
That's what I thought but I just couldn't get the thing to actually show a check mark to place it.
hmm, got the car running long enough to drive it into my garage to try and tune it because it had no air filter and valve timings are off suddenly the car starting revving really high and now it won't fire, checked to see if spark plugs are loose and they aren't but i can't think of anything else. anyone got any ideas? also my brakes aren't working properly and it won't hold in one gear for very long this is good fun edit: had a fuel leak lol

So somehow this wreck... [t]http://i.imgur.com/a6ge9lV.png[/t] ... managed to pass the inspection :v [t]http://i.imgur.com/T7PVxqG.png[/t] Wooooo
can somebody post a screenshot of their valve timings? :v:
Wait, so you die instantly from falling into the shit-tank? That's so unrealistic, I know a dude who fell into one and lived
Speaking of shit-tanks, these people fill them up way too fast, like what the fuck. Are they like shit-collectors or what, hoarding shit from the whole country in their shit-tanks to impress me or something? Is this a covert way to sponsor rally racers in Finland?

All these guys have in their life is eating, drinking, shitting, and calling you up to empty their septic tank. This is true survival horror.
Got a question. What does it mean when the radiator is spraying what I assume is coolant out of the top, and after a while of driving the engine goes bang and totally dies? The radiator has enough coolant, but when I'm driving the battery gauge or whatever it is (on the extra gauges) drops pretty rapidly and when it's empty is when it goes kaput. It's totally full of coolant and nothing else seems wrong, what's up with it?
I have the same thing where the radiator sprays coolant after driving for a while but no other issues. Other than when I shifted into 2nd at 160kph and the pistons shot out in different directions and tore holes in everything.
I found out you can drink the water in the shower. Just crouch down when it is turned on.
SHE RUNS! [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/222193264464297598/19F88D887BCCF058C89ACC72D004065583C5DF26/[/t] I got it put together, and it started up the second try. First test drive I had no brakes, but I must have won the lottery because my valves didnt tick and the carb pulled like a freight train. I came peeling out of the driveway, jumped the road, then lost the drive gear, grinding to a stop at the mailbox. You can see the drive gear sitting on the road behind the car. [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/222193264464297905/2F14DC8D6ABCE02EE1625BD17B3EC2B85DF3785E/[/t] PERKELE That trip on the forklift ripped the exhaust off, so it backfires and lost some low end torque. Second test drive, I fixed the brakes, put the drive gear back in, and took off without the exhaust. It was pretty blubbery starting off, but still accelerated like a flaming beast at high rpm. I got it up about midway through 3rd, then started fishtailing and rolled into a pond. Still drove back home, but the brakes are gone again. Shit, I love this game. It reminds me so much of the sand rail a friend and I tried to fix up last year.
what's the most optimal way to get my car into the garage without destroying it
i still can't figure out how to put the hoisted engine into my datsun i lower it into the engine bay, and what next
i still can't figure out how to put the hoisted engine into my datsun i lower it into the engine bay, and what next
A lot of fumbling and swearing trying to precisely position it so that the little screws appear near the front of the subframe.
i still can't figure out how to put the hoisted engine into my datsun i lower it into the engine bay, and what next
make sure you have the subframe installed, otherwise you can't put it in took me 30 minutes until I tried putting in the subframe first, then it worked
what's the most optimal way to get my car into the garage without destroying it
Add wheels. Push it with J.
can somebody post a screenshot of their valve timings? :v:
Not possible I'm afraid. The understanding is there's 18 positions for the valve screws, but they'll turn forever. This means that correct settings won't visually match.
Not possible I'm afraid. The understanding is there's 18 positions for the valve screws, but they'll turn forever.
Not possible I'm afraid. The understanding is there's 18 positions for the valve screws, but they'll turn forever.
what's the most optimal way to get my car into the garage without destroying it
Tbh I've always just rolled the engine out and installed it, then drove the car into the garage to finish the exhaust. Pushing with J might work as long as your alignment isn't totally fucked
Tbh I've always just rolled the engine out and installed it, then drove the car into the garage to finish the exhaust. Pushing with J might work as long as your alignment isn't totally fucked
my usual route is to build the engine, chassis + wheels then push it forward and hope to god it works
what's the most optimal way to get my car into the garage without destroying it
Ask the owner why it's not in the garage in the first place and wait for an update to fix it. Really, it's next to impossible for you not to damage the car in the garage without completing it. The frame is made out of tissue paper, and you're going to end up damaging the car if you use a forklift or if you push it with the van.

Your car will look brand new no matter how far into building it you are You can also use this method to savescum a bit if you are tired of having to restart because of random death crashes that seem to happen Dont open any of these files while the game is running or it will instantly kill you
