My toolbox has disappeared Does all stuff at the landfill spawn near the shitter where you can save? Because it's not there :(
Anybody?
Anybody?
Well unless you have a GPS tracker to it, it's fucking gone. Retrace steps, sweep ditches, all that stuff. [editline]3rd November 2016[/editline] Also not really sure how the junkyard works, if things spawn in one location only or if it's spread around it.

I tried to replace the relevant bit of text in the save file with the one from a new save, but that only leads to the game reverting to a backup, and if I tamper with the backup files as well, it crashes :( [editline]3rd November 2016[/editline] Strike that, I used a Hex editor instead of notepad and it worked!!! My toolbox is back!
My sevage truck beeps at me and won't start up, I'm stuck with 5 cases of beer in the middle of nowhere. What do.
The beeping is likely just the low pressure warning for the airbrakes - rev the engine a bit and it should stop. As for not starting, it could be because you haven't given the glowplugs enough time to heat up. Turn the power on by clicking the ignition, wait for the red light with the coil symbol on it to go out (2nd row down 2nd column from left), then click and hold the ignition to start the engine. [editline]a[/editline]
Also not really sure how the junkyard works, if things spawn in one location only or if it's spread around it.
I think everything spawns next to the toilet / sofa in the middle of the junkyard - two pieces of wheel arch trim fell through the map when I opened a package up and that's where they both appeared.

Finnish space program is coming along nicely [t]https://i.imgur.com/d993cmR.jpg[/t]
You should post what you changed here so if others have the issue, they know how to correct it!
Okay. I wasn't exactly sure where each item string ended and which bits already belonged to the next one. So I selected everything from the first item that I knew I had never touched, which was "PART{~.PortableRadioTransform4", until the beginning of the next name after the toolbox, which is "PART{~.SledgehammerTransform4". But in the end I think it's enough to copy&paste the following:
IN CASE YOUR TOOLBOX DISAPPEARS, you can bring it back by doing this: - Make a copy of your savegame - start a new game - in the new savegame folder, open defaultES2file.txt with a proper editor - Notepad and possibly Wordpad, too, will fuck things up. It's best to use a HEX editor, because hex editors only display plain text for reference. You always edit the hex values, so there's no danger of the editor mixing up any symbols due to missing fonts or whatever. - copy the string in the screenshot - paste it into the same position in your original savegame [t]http://i.imgur.com/WE6a40t.png[/t] Note that each ITEM or PART string is preceded by a HEX value of 04. This is your demarcation for where the next item starts. So even if the string is longer in your savegame, you need to replace everything up until the HEX 04 before the next ITEM. This should make the toolbox appear back in its original place on the workbench
[editline]3rd November 2016[/editline] Of course you need to replace the new "empty" savegame with your old one after that :D
my engine is making rattling and popping noises and the brakes still don't work what have i done wrong
my engine is making rattling and popping noises and the brakes still don't work what have i done wrong
Unscrew the 4 brake line nuts on the tires, get in the car then pump and hold the breaks for 30 seconds. Re tighten and refill the fluids and they should work. As for your engine problems, you might want to go over every nut and bolt to make sure the game didn't randomly unscrew something, also invest in an AFM gauge and tune the carb.
So my car finally idles ok, but now it backfires all the time and doesn't take any gas when in gear.
you could probably ask for real car advice here and it would probably work while everyone thinks you're just talking about a game

I thought the brakes were bugged and reassembled the lines and the master cylinder. Worked, too. Also, in retrospect, I think I should have left the colors like this:
before [t]http://i.imgur.com/cjU9uJ6.jpg[/t] after [t]http://i.imgur.com/gxLnsIL.jpg[/t]
Also, how did I get the doors, boot and hood rusted black instead of clean black? Does that happen over time if you leave the parts sitting in the garage for a while after spraying them? Cause that's what I did.
you could probably ask for real car advice here and it would probably work while everyone thinks you're just talking about a game
Going between here and the automotive adicts thread is extremely confusing at times.
Where do you drop off the wood? I drove to the dude's house and opened the back of the trailer and lifted it up then drove in circles around his house.
Where do you drop off the wood? Do jobs reset after saving/loading or am I just really bad at finding out where to take my sewage truck? I really don't want to take that long trip back with no cash and a lot of wasted fuel :/
No, they do reset. Though I've heard that you can actually pump out a completely filled sewage well and get paid even if you didn't get the call. It just has to be full.
I keep getting a bug where the sewage tank suddenly changes from full-ish down to the last drops, but my sewage truck stops sucking anything up even though my hose is resting at the bottom. Moving the hose around constantly makes my guy start making the sounds that indicate you started sucking shit but it just wont suck it up.
Is there a day the police haven't got a checkpoint up?

When my truck gets full and stops sucking the pump will stay 'on' even after opening the spill valve, but won't actually suck anything up. The only way I've found to get it back to sucking is to turn the pump off then on again, no amount of pipe jiggle helped. [editline]a[/editline] It's kinda frustrating how expensive it is to apply a custom paintjob to your car, even with the discount. Most of my gameplay right now is just trying to wait for people to fill their septic tanks up so I can actually afford it :v:
The story of how I killed 4 cops and locked up a police car in my garage
So I just drove to Teimo's, threw my envelope into his mailbox and went home. Got out of the car, the phone rang and, I shit you not, it was Teimo telling me that my stuff had arrived. Amazon hasn't got shit on 90's Finland mailorder business. On a more serious note: It's amazing how through all that jankiness and hilarity the game does manage to convey this special atmosphere of being a teen in a remote place with too much time on your hands. I find myself tentatively feeling about the NPC's in the same way I used to feel about that certain set of "grown-ups" in our village that were always present at the same spots. In a way, they're boring losers who have never seen the world beyond their frontyard, they have bad hygiene and always smell of cheap booze, but at the same I time you can't help liking them. It brings back memories of these types who were already hanging around outside that stuffy pub at 11 in the morning when you were a toddler, and they still do now that you've got your driving license and your own car, and somehow the relationship is still the same - they were always kinda gross, but they were also always nice to you and you were nice to them.
I got my car put together, successfully backed out of the garage. It was having a bit of trouble with teh rpm falling in neutral, so I tried tweaking the rocker arms. Cue the car not starting at all and stalling with a popping noise. I've managed to conclude it's gotta be something with air or the mix of fuel, but really I don't know enough about cars to conclude anything useful. I will probably just remove the engine, take it apart and put it back together. Might have to go to the shop to get more oil, coolant and brake fluid.
Should invest in the A/F meter and check the ratio through that
