It seems that everyone in this town has gas heating and is perpetually sitting on the toilet, cause i only managed to get one call about firewood and the rest have all been for septic tank pumping. I have a fully loaded trailer of firewood just sitting on my lawn. might as well piss on it and push it into the lake, cause no ones taking it. :v:
Is there a day the police haven't got a checkpoint up?
Is there even a way to go through that thing without getting ticketed? I once drove through the thing at exactly the highway speed limit, in the right lane, and completely sober, yet I still got fined. Then just to add insult to injury, some other car then sped through the checkpoint at 120 while I was taking the ticket, and it wasn't even the green car. Is it possible to make profits in races? Is that a feature yet? If so, has anyone here made profits from a race?

I finally dragged my shit heap to the mechanic and he was able to turn the melted pile of slag under my hood back into a working engine. I got the carb tuned "close enough for sausage run", and took off to the shop, excited to pick up my speed parts. Turns out my envelope had fallen through the bottom of the store mailbox and had been sitting on the ground for a week. Fuck, it feels so nice to drive this thing, worth every hour of finnish cursing and breaking things.
Should invest in the A/F meter and check the ratio through that
Doubt it's the A/F mix though. It worked fine until I tried adjusting the rockers and I tried messing with the carburetor, it didn't do anything. Plus it's making the pop noise when it does actually run, it's something else. [editline]4th November 2016[/editline] I mean, no doubt I've messed up the ratio, but that shouldn't cause these problems. [editline]4th November 2016[/editline] Well I say shouldn't, but I don't actually know for sure. I'm just thinking that adjusting the rockers shouldn't mess it up that bad to the point where it doesn't want to run even after adjusting it back.
Pull the choke and see if it wants to run, if so, it's lean. I have mine tuned to an AFR of 15.3:1 hot (the AFR numbers make no sense in this game, a real one would be happy around 12.8:1 at full throttle under load, and mid to high 13s at partial throttle), and it starts without the choke, oddly enough. FYI, It takes alot of travel on the mixture screw to make a significant change. For the rockers, pull the valve cover, and loosen each one a whole bunch, they turn infinitely, but the adjustment range is like 20. Once they're all out, screw them all back in 7 clicks, that should get you right where they're all happy and quiet, yet on the loose side so you don't burn a valve when it gets hot (is that even a feature in the game?)
After I restarted the game, the car runs, but with low rpm. Choke makes no difference. Can spark plugs get blown? Is it a thing you can buy from the mechanic? I've double checked they're all properly seated, but I might have loosened one when screwing the rocker cover on and off. Not sure if that would damage them.
My valves behave weirdly. I have them at 20 clicks down, 7 up. But when I touch them while the engine is running, more often than not a single click up will send them ticking and I have to scroll down several ticks do stop them from ticking. Do you maybe have to adjust them when the engine is hot? If I remember correctly, in real life you're supposed to do it at room temperature.
Made my first successful trip to town with groceries, fan belt and car liquids and finished the frame of the car yesterday.
Is it possible to make profits in races? Is that a feature yet? If so, has anyone here made profits from a race?
I dunno if you'd call it profit but, you do get prize money for getting 1st, 2nd or 3rd place. Starting from first, 5000, 2500, 1000. (I think, I only got 3rd) Also, sometimes you can do jobs without having the fellow call. The firewood guy you can p much deliver a flatbed of wood every new day just as long as it isn't past midnight I think, then he disappears. For sewage I am not 100% but people say that as long as their well is full you get money for sucking it.

What are your top speeds with the stock carb? And what are the settings you use for that? I'm having trouble going even 100kph. Carb is set to 14.1 at operating temperature, valves are 20 clicks down, 7 up. Tie rods are all the way in, then 50 clicks out. I can't even get to Peräjärvi without overheating, even if I take it slow, i.e. going 60 down the highway. (no oil leaks, no radiator leaks, fan belt is tight, fluids are topped up, frame is not dented)

Obligatory.

Is perfect now. Will go 140 on the highway. It's also a surprisingly good shopping cart:
Christmas time! :3 [t]http://i.imgur.com/CRyDGB9.jpg[/t]
I had, however not expected this to work:
[t]http://i.imgur.com/lfowHj6.jpg[/t]
So roadkill is a show about car butchery, reminds me of this game.

Ok so nevermind all that engine trouble I had, I disassembled my engine and put it back together, but it was really just the rocker arms. I thought I had them the way they were, but I went with the 20-8 method.
Alright I "beat" my summer car. Built the car, got it passed inspection. Can't say I liked the journey. A lot of bugs ruined the game for me, and a lot of bullshit such as wheel alignment (Are you telling me that this dude doesn't have a measuring tape around the house?), bootlid detachment bugs, game information solely being based online, car frame being made out of tissue paper when building it, and parts phasing out from the world. Will have to check back on this game in a year.
well, my van is somehow vanished into thin air and with it my jerry can. wat do [editline]5th November 2016[/editline] lmao nvm it was in some ditch and even held a case of beer ready for me
Does anyone know what the difference between "Engine Adjustment" and "Motor Tuning" is?
Why does my radiator piss out the cap when I'm above 5k rpm and not overheating?
Why does my radiator piss out the cap when I'm above 5k rpm and not overheating?
Educated guess but I think RPM actually controlls the speed of the fan since a temperature sensor would be too complex for a junker.
Educated guess but I think RPM actually controlls the speed of the fan since a temperature sensor would be too complex for a junker.
seeing as its an electric fan I'm gonna have to say no. it would be more complicated to run it off engine rpm than to just have a temp sensor.
Wasn't sleeping on the bed made the game save?? Cuz I'm back to fucking square one again and I hate it.
