Driving to and from the shop is a major pain in the ass then. I need to drive slowly or else I hit a bend and flip my van.
Going to the grocery store and back, I flipped my van four times yesterday. But I was also definitely overconfident because I had finally connected my steering wheel.
It is enough to make the left onto the Highway coming out of Peräjärvi (the village with Teimo's shop) at high speed in order to throw the van onto its side...

When this happens, what do you do? Reload the save?
I'm just getting started with this game. I doubt I'll get the car running since I know literally nothing about this, but I find the game really charming.

You press J and try to find the sweet spot on the van that makes it fly into orbit and land on its wheels after re-entry.
If you can't handle the van on its way to the store, how will you handle the rally?
Also, how long does painting take? Does it matter that when I drive past the car is still in his driveway?

Another question has anyone tried making course notes for the rally stage?

I've seriously considered this but have nobody to read them to me.

My Summer Car discord and have someone watch your stream. :v:
Actually the delay would be catastrophic.
I was thinking just make a program with a button that'll read the next line.
Also someone please assure me the mechanic is actually doing things to my car.

I don't know about paint but generally he should be done within a day or two.

if you did it on the weekend he might take longer since on Saturdays he's off working the race.
Ok that means I need at least another day of doing burnouts in his car to pass the time.
I made a savegame editor (pic) for MSC if you guys are interested. As the name suggests, it can load, edit and save the binary save files. It also highlights your changes and can make backups.

Holy shit, thanks. I need to fix my lost fan belt.
Help. My flashlight ended up in the toilet somehow (I just found it there one time after coming back from a save) and now I can't get it out since clicking anywhere on the toilet saves and quits to the menu.

it was a needed sacrifice to our toilet gods
may he grant you good fuel air ratios and bountiful peer
[sp]seriously you could probably lodge it outta there with a beer crate or something[/sp]

Probably use that save editor someone posted on the last page
I accidently punched out my front window. This guy is too strong.

Nah, it's just a parallel reality where they make the cars out of cardboard and plastic foil. You can gently put a shopping bag on top of your car and dent the whole roof to shit.

To be fair a single shopping bag can containe everything on Tiemos shelves at the same time.
Anyone try to swim across the lake yet?

Btw it would be really cool to have a minimap view that displays the part coordinates and would allow you to edit the coordinates there.
finally finished the car, the AF gauge is insanely useful for tuning the carburetor without tuning yourself to death
runs perfectly, wheel alignment is a bit to the left but that's fine. engine doesn't explode at 160 km/h
my optimal start from now is the AF gauge along with the racing radiator along with the jerry can, shit is so nice to start with

I swam across the lake while carrying a case of beer once
Okay so my car was running perfectly fine for a while and then I started seeing some liquid squirt out from somewhere under the hood while driving. I checked to make sure that all the caps are screwed on tight and none of the liquids seem like they're really going down at a crazy rate and everything else in the car is running perfectly fine. What could that mean?

Get the air/fuel ratio gauge in the catalogue and tune it so the needle stays within the green part.
Later with the racing radiator and passed inspection you can tune it so its a little bit to the left of the green zone in the gauge.

Go for 14.1-15, your engine shouldn't overheat unless you push it hard

So what's actually happening? And which way should I tune for the time being? There's a fair amount of driving back and forth I gotta do just to get the parts and I don't want to drive the van any more than I have to.

I think for now, just leave it as it is and just stick with the van to the store to get the AF Gauge. Or, take the sewage truck since that thing is tanky as hell.
I came 4th in the rally with 6:03:23, winner was 5:45. I had one spin and stall, so I think Icould vet atleast podium. Better luck next weekend hopefully

Playing with a wheel
Did you do much recon beforehand? I would try to learn the track but thinking I know it might be the fastest way to get killed by it.

isn't the track just the dirt road from somewhere near your house, through loppe to the town?

Since everybody else decided to ignore your question of what's actually happening:
Your car was apparently running hot and spraying a bit of coolant through the cap due to excessive pressure in the system. Did you look at the water temp gauge?
There are 4 basic reasons for a car running hot in the game:
1) Lack of coolant
2) Lack of oil (more oil means that more oil stays in the oil pan and gets more of a chance to cool down before it's circulated through the engine again)
3) Engine is running too lean
4) you're driving like a madman, constantly revving it in the reds, especially at lower speeds when there's less air flow through the radiator.

I think it was just the engine not being well tuned. My coolant and oil were mostly full and I'm not really spending too much time in low gears.
