My game is definitely busted. Car has sat at the mechanics for a week, and the envelope that I intersected into the mailbox and had vanish from my hands hasn't gotten me any parts after 5 days.
Same happened to me, I ended up cheating the money and ordering all of it again, came next day
got the car inspected, i had to do it twice because i forgot some screws on the drivers seat.
also is the car supposed to use oil so fast? i filled it up at the house and by the time i was in the city it was completely gone

Are you sure they're not ready? Sometimes they just don't bother to call you (or you miss the call)

It's not supposed to burn oil at all, it's not a two stroke.
You must have left a bolt loose in the engine.
I think it uses some oil but not that much. I'd start by checking the sump plug.
Also does anyone know if oil changes matter yet or not?

Four strokes can burn oil too y'know
i have no clue what is wrong, checked the oil filter and drain plug. i have the gauges and it loses oil even when idling
[editline]30th November 2016[/editline]
i highly doubt there's a screw loose because i double checked everything when assembling but i might be wrong

you're probably wrong
check the screws that are hiding inside other parts, like on the oil pan or inside the engine

After my first 2 builds I've quadruple checked because holy shit
Four strokes can burn oil too y'know
not on purpose
yeah apparently i forgot a screw on the oil pan
i feel like an idiot but the car runs nicely at least
There was a bolt I missed on the oil pan, it dropped to half on a run to be inspected.
I don't think it drops below half from that leak and you can get away with driving it like that for a bit
It always seems to burn a little oil though, but not a massive amount a top up every few days, which you would probably check fairly often if you daily drove a 40 year old car you put together yourself.
Once you've got it running nicely, and don't crash it topping up the oil is the only maintenance required
is there a way to dive? my gas can just fell through the boat
or am I about to start over again for the third time this week

Can't you just reload a save?
Can't you just reload a save?
yeah but my most recent save is when I started the game. I just finished mashing the car together in an hour and was on my way to get fuel when my gas can decided it had enough of adhering to the laws of physics
doesn't really answer my question anyway. if it's possible to dive then it'll be easier to dive than to reload since I know where it went
There's a savegame editor floating around though that'll let you spawn it back at the garage.
Alternatively you could sink one of your other vehicles in the lake, then get out, walk across the bottom of the lake and retrieve your jerry can. At the cost of one van, truck or tractor obviously.

The cylinder honing process leaves areas oil can stay and lube the cylinder, they do burn oil intentionally but its a small amount.

if you're noticeably losing oil, something is wrong.
The cylinder honing process leaves areas oil can stay and lube the cylinder, they do burn oil intentionally but its a small amount.
not even close
the cylinder honing process creates a file-like texture so that the rings can form to the shape of the cylinder. it gets worn perfectly smooth in under an hour of runtime.
if oil can get into the combustion chamber, then combustion byproducts or even raw gasoline can get into the oil. I don't have to tell you why that's bad.
Are you sure they're not ready? Sometimes they just don't bother to call you (or you miss the call)
Been to the store and back several times across several days, I ended up using a save editor to set the "wait" flag to true, the price was correct in the file but the invoice on Teimo's counter says 0.00mk and it spawned no items when paid for.

Well, but that engine there in Mr. Summer Car's garage is probably old. And who knows whether he numbered the pistons correctly?
Generally speaking, usually one replaces the rings when they tear down the whole engine and put it back together.
Just got the game and got the car mostly put together. Needed some brake fluid and decided to do some sewage pumping jobs on my way to town. Went to open the sewage cover and fell in and died. Perkele
So, is this worth the price?
It looks janky as fuck kind of like Jalopy but more in depth, wondering if there is more to the game other than just tuning it up for a rally?
Earning money to get those parts in the first place, and also avoiding a horrible fiery death on Finnish country roads.
The game has two main goals so far:
- Get your car registered
- Win the Rally
Each will take you many hours to achieve. Also you need to have a rough idea of how to build a japanese 70's FWD shitbox and keep it running.

Is there any development plans to extend those goals and or add other goals?
I have no idea how to build an engine, so, sounds fun.

You reaply dont need to know. Everything is labelled, and if you wave it over the motor, a checkmark shows up if it goes where it belongs.
You can try and guess for the most part, but the hardest thing is when things need to go on in a specific order. There's at least two parts I can think of that might leave you scratching your head.
For example, you can assemble the oil pan, gearbox, cylinder head and rockers to the engine block all without adding either the crankshaft, pistons, bearings or camshaft. At which point you won't be able to add those parts to the engine(At least I don't think you could still get those parts in place)
Some parts require the prerequisite parts to be in place first, but not all of them.

These added car upgrades sound really sweet, haven't tried them out yet
