Splatoon is actually the first new IP from Nintendo EAD (their biggest division) since the restructure in 2003.
That makes sense, and I concede that their biggest studio is extremely unoriginal and has been for 15 years. At the same time, the phrase "Nintendo has not made a new IP in 15 years" implies that about the company as a whole, which sounds a lot shittier than it actually is. But anyway, I'm done ranting about this, I feel satisfied with my answer.
Japan has a promo in 7/11 for smash bros

What is it with Animal Crossing and 7-Eleven?

Villager and Isabelle are regular customers.

But it says right in that article that the EAD made Nintendogs, Big Brain Academy, Wii Series, Steel Diver, NES Remix and Nintendo Land. :v:
so I had an idea for the wii u star fox title that I think would help solidify it as a return in series quality tbh
what if the prologue has fox, slippy, peppy, falco, and krystal flying some mission to start the game off, and a torpedo just kinda comes out of nowhere and unceremoniously blows up krystal's arwing. everyone's just kind of like, "oh, ok" and the game starts
and that's the last mention she ever has in the series or anything sf related
To this day I still don't get why people think Krystal automatically makes the game bad.

Like those games would of been just as terrible if she never came around.

true enough but she does kind of represent the era of decline and she's a shit character who's only worth is furry wankbait so I think it'd be symbolic enough to mark a return to 64 quality

I don't think I'd care as long as the games good. Like if the games fantastic return to 64 quality will she suddenly be a good character?
It's not like any of them are that deep. She's just "the blue one."

Fixed that for you.
To me, she just felt like added absolutely nothing to the enjoyment of the game, and only there for the mixture of romantic subplot and Furbait McBluetits. The many endings of Command further just shit all over her, the endings themselves are just cop-outs or just predictable and badly written. Maybe it was better in the original Japanese, but all I get from Command (and the other games after 64 to an extent) is that Star Fox game really should keep plot as a bare minimum, otherwise when the writers fuck up, it feels like they really fucked up. Krystal would be fine to stay if they can write her not to just be the token love interest and female crew member.
is commanders even considered canon? I know a lot refuse to acknowledge it
What is it with Animal Crossing and 7-Eleven?
7-Eleven is really popular in Japan and Nintendo pairs up with them for this kind of stuff because it's an easy way to get more customers.
is commanders even considered canon? I know a lot refuse to acknowledge it
Command isn't canon because it implies that Fox and Falco are in a new FZero game
and we are never getting a new FZero
G-Zero

Fox's dad already faked his death, un-furried himself and got into the greatest racing franchise of all time.

So this came out of no where.
great, so it's not japan only. looks like a great sidescroller and i'll probably get it
Okay, so they are literally leaving the best for E3 and removing any small stuff.
I cannot wait.
Also, LBX looks interesting. Reminded me of Metabots.

I'm interested by how customisable this game looks and by its multiplayer. Apparently hype related to this series pretty much died in Japan two years ago? Can anyone confirm this?

Skimmed most of it..so western Chibi Robo and what i thought was going to be Custom Robo...turning out to be Little Battlers Experience. apparently Gamefaqs found Bravely Second to have too many flaws like reusing most of the original world and dungeons...[sp] supposedly it pulls out the same loop BS like the original did[/sp] shame SE had to blackmail Nintendo with the rights to the first game's publishing rights just to stop them from attempting to translate any other Dragon Quest games. think i'd honestly prefer DQ VII, VIII, and maybe Monsters 2 than Bravely Second. (purely to make up for the lack of Joker 2 Pro, plus almost all the monsters from the previous games stacked up in Marvelous Mysterious Key, the remake of Monsters 2)
Actually I was getting a lot more Castlevania vibes from the new Chibi-Robo game than anything western.
Also regarding LBX, the only reason why I have any interest in the game is:
1) It reminds me a lot of Medabots.
2) The English dub of the show is being done by Canadian dubbing group Ocean Studios (including some actors from their budget sister group, Blue Water Studios), and the music for the dub is done by the same people who did the music for the Ruby Spears Mega Man cartoon and the AB Groupe/Westwood/Ocean dub of Dragon Ball Z.
I found out why I'm having trouble with Tropical Freeze, there's input delay between my HDTV and gamepad :(
I don't know how to fix it. I play on the gamepad and it's 100% better.
Anyone know how to fix this?

I wonder if i have that problem too. Because i am terrible at the game and it seems like im always missing the jump or something.
At first I thought, damn, Donkey Kong is a heavy sack of 'nanners in this game. I was legitimately dying all the time in the first world. The first world's boss was so hard for me to beat since it almost felt like slo-mo at times.
I really noticed it on the first level of the second world, I would duck, remove my hand and let the stick rest, and in that half second donkey would then duck.
I switched to gamepad and boom, dunking and slamming like always.

Does your TV have a Game Mode? Look around in your display settings and see if it's there.
Unless you're already using Game Mode, in which case I don't know what else could be causing it.

It actually doesn't. Moved it to a smaller HDTV though, it works fine now. Game feels amazing now.
Game is amazing. Finished the first world, the first boss has the most amazing music. My sister kept shouting VAL HOLLA AWAITS VAL HOLLA AWAITS during it.
I have no idea what that meant, but the game is just kicking.
