I can feel the new Metroid already.
I can feel the new Metroid already.
If they announce a new one I'll shit the carpet. HD, on the Wii U... it's the dream.
I can feel the new Metroid already.
This time, it will happen. Trust me.
I pose a question to all you Metroid fans in this thread: If Nintendo were to announce a new Metroid game at E3, what kind of game would you like it to be? a) 3D FPS (like the Prime series) b) 2D Platformer Another question: If they were to make a new 3D Metroid game, how would you like them handling the overall progression of the game? a) Like Prime and Prime 2 (which were a lot less linear and had the amount of Plot Mcguffins higher and more cryptic to find). b) Like Prime 3 (which was a bit more linear than the previous games and you didn't need to fine all the Plot Mcguffins, just half of them. Also: If they to made a new 2D Metroid game, how would you like them handling the overall progression for that? a) Like Super Metroid (where you had a map, but it was up to you on where you had to go and what you have to do first). b) Like Metroid Fusion (which gave you the place that you needed to be at, but how you got there wasn't always so straight forward). c) Like Metroid: Zero Mission (which gave you a general direction on where you had to go, but finding out where exactly you need to go and the way to get there was all up to you).

I would appreciate both.
That's some of the best animation I've seen in SFM. Wow.
I'm honestly glad it wasn't wasted on TF2 assets and it's something new for once
Judging some rumours they might working on two Metroids anyway. I would appreciate both.
Actually those rumours you're talking about were just stuff that was said during E3 2014, where they said that they had two ideas for new Metroid games, but nothing concrete yet. And while yes, I would appreciate both, if you had to just pick one game, which one would you want the most (along with the other questions I asked also)?

Recently played Fusion and it was fucking amazing. Tight controls and creepy atmosphere.

Heck, the entire soundtrack I think is one of the best of the entire Metroid series, and one of my absolute favourites. And while I agree with you on the controls of Fusion and how really tight they are, I actually prefer Zero Mission's controls, as I think they pretty much had it perfect with that game. Hell, everything in Zero Mission I think was done the best (sans the music, as I prefer Fusion's soundtrack over Zero Mission's).
If they announce a new one I'll shit the carpet. HD, on the Wii U... it's the dream.
provide photographic evidence if it happens

Fusion was an example of how adding actual plot and dialogue to a 2d Metroid can work really well. I'd love another game made in that style.
provide photographic evidence if it happens
why would you want to see that
why would you want to see that
to prove the hype is real btw its a joke reaction if you think I'm serious

I hope it's 3D. Not because a 2D Metroid game wouldn't be fantastic, but because I'm so done with 2D sidescrolling platformers which have reached saturation point for me. I just want to be able to explore in 3D, that's all I need. Note that a 2D Metroid is still a 9.5/10 on the hype-o-meter.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/a7Wx0Z9.jpg[/t]
Another nitpick from someone who played Super a ton, Samus is too big.

I prefer sitting on the couch with the big TV and surround sound and feeling like I'm in that world. I just hope they don't make it too easy.
I just want it to be good.
HD, on the Wii U... it's the dream.
it's a reality.
I pose a question to all you Metroid fans in this thread: If Nintendo were to announce a new Metroid game at E3, what kind of game would you like it to be?
a-b. a lot of people give mp3 shit for being linear and having weapon ability upgrades instead of weapon switching, but i think the amount of required bullshit for you to have to search for to even progress is cut down considerably. metroid prime 3 is the first game i 100%'d on hardest difficulty and i replay it every year. if it were to be a 2d metroid, then b-b.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/a7Wx0Z9.jpg[/t]
That neck is wrong.
Having played Super Metroid; the fact that Mother Brain is on the right of the screen instead of the left in this picture bugs me way more than it should.
This was done for aesthetic reasons; since Samus has her arm cannon on the right, it thus makes for a more dynamic flinch pose if it's not being covered by the left arm.

After they complained about how MP2 was a backtracking simulator?
I don't think anyone who actually likes Metroid as a series would complain about backtracking.
i don't mind backtracking unless it's ad nauseam coughPHANTOMHOURGLASScough
