They are currently playing Metroid Prime: Federation Force at the nintendo treehouse. I'm still not sure what to think. The gameplay looks like a simplified version of the prime games.

I'm really looking forward to that Paper Mario/Mario & Luigi Crossover. Like a lot, I love both of those series so much.
Mario Maker reminds me of that childish glee I had when I got my hands on LBP all those years ago, so really looking forward to that one too.

I just find the idea of Paper Jam to be unusual, originally people were predicting that Mario & Luigi would jump to the Wii U after Sticker Star came out due to the semi-redundancies in having 2 RPG subseries Mario games on the same console. personally i think they're just going to go slowly with them.
I could see Luigi being brainwashed again and turning into Mr L, also the idea of variable powers for the Mario Bros is mostly limited to just Hammers, Jumping and Paper Mario's thinness, with 4 characters, how else would they liven it up unless they're just limiting the Hammer as stacking and crushing Regular Bros for holes whilst Paper Mario might...burn with Mario's Fire Hand if they use that old chestnut again, or Paper Luigi's super jump from Super Paper Mario. Paper Mario's flag is yellow with a P on the level up screen though...

Partners in Time and Bowser's Inside Story used the same asset IIRC.
Besides the Dream Team sprites are too amazing not to use twice.
I feel like the game will be more Mario and Luigi than Paper Mario, which I'm fine with, but we haven't had an actual Paper Mario game since 2004, I'd like to see it lean towards that series, if that makes any sense.

My class started exactly as the Nintendo conference did, and I was mildly upset that I might miss something good. Based on reactions here, I'm pretty okay with missing it. Too bad that wasn't an actual Animal Crossing, I've been looking forward to a Wii U one for quite some time.

well after finishing up watching Nintendo's E3 presentation, I have to say it was pretty lackluster. That new Metroid game looks super underwhelming, and christ they sure do like advertising the Amiibo, which is hilarious given they manufacture them in sets of one.
The animal crossing board game looks horrible, it's Mario Party without the minigames to break up the slog of getting dicked over by chance spaces on the board game. Oh and having to buy an amiibo per player? Ouch.
Still hype for Mario Maker though, I think it's gonna be great.

Yeah I'm still probably going to get a Wii U.
I mean, i'm kinda disappointed by nothing really amazing being announced. But otherwise it looks like the few games I looked at before E3 are still on track.

Because the American market loved Metroid Prime and hated Other M, they're specifically trying to play to that.
Notice how the Space Pirates and Troopers both are much closer to their Prime designs than their modern OM designs.
Maybe that amiibo board game is free, but to play you have to buy an amiibo
