Anyone else went to a Mario Maker event today? I had a fun time and got a lot of swag.
What they could have done with the animal crossing amiibo festival is make it not just limited to animal crossing. It could have been our first nintendo party game! I think they could have also kept the amiibo system if they wanted but its not exactly needed. The game being free is pretty nice though and I can't wait to get as may of the animal crossing amiibos as I can.
Imagine a Nintendo Party game. It's a $30 title that comes with a (small) All-Star cast available from the start and minigames. Tapping any of the amiibos allows you to play that character and also unlocks more minigames that are themed to the series they come from (not sure what amiibos for the preexisting roster would unlock, maybe alternate skins?). And even then the amiibos aren't even totally necessary, like with every session you complete, the winner keeps the amassed coins they achieved which can be used to purchase new characters, minigames, boards, and other features. A rough idea, but it sounds good to me, despite not having played a Mario Party game since 3. Amiibo Festival is certainly not this, however.

Whatever the NX turns out to be, I'm sure they'll give it an absolutely awful name that confuses consumers.
Anyone else went to a Mario Maker event today? I had a fun time and got a lot of swag.
They weren't doing it at my best buy...which sucks
Whatever the NX turns out to be, I'm sure they'll give it an absolutely awful name that confuses consumers.
the Nintendo Wii U 4 Mii

Can't wait to buy the New Super Wii U XL next year!
They couldn't be so stupid as to repeat the same mistake twice. ...right?
We are proud to announce our new console: the Wii U Next
Actually the Dreamcast controller was pretty comfortable and a predecessor of the Xbox controller.
The original Xbox controller aka the duke controller is probably the most uncomfortable controler I've ever used.
The original Xbox controller aka the duke controller is probably the most uncomfortable controler I've ever used.
Could be worse, could have been one of these. [T]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b3/Atari-Jaguar-CD-wPro-Controller.jpg[/T]
The original Xbox controller aka the duke controller is probably the most uncomfortable controler I've ever used.
i actually quite liked the duke, i wish microsoft would make a gag controller for xbox one that's pretty much the same shape/size.
Can't wait to buy the New Super Wii U XL next year!
Strangely enough calling it the Super Wii would've likely driven home that it's a newer, stronger console.
I just realised that the PAL and European name changes to the Mario and Luigi games are the weirdest thing. Dream Team got changed to Dream Team Bros, Paper Jam got changed to Paper Jam Bros, and in SSB Duck Hunt got changed to Duck Hunt Duo. Is there somebody at Nintendo of Europe with really bad OCD or something?
Strangely enough calling it the Super Wii would've likely driven home that it's a newer, stronger console.
I'd love it as its a play on SNES.
Yeah but everyone would call it the "swee"

Is there somebody at Nintendo of Europe with really bad OCD or something?
meh, i just assume the reason the Mario and Luigi titles seems to have different names is probably just marketing. they usually have to put the word Bros just for brand recognition, maybe even more so since there might just be 1 boxart with no variants. the word Bros would at least spark up Super Mario Bros in pop culture to an extent. Wasn't there slight script differences between games? might just be a case of divergent translations, like Advance Wars: Days of Ruin/Dark Conflict. traditionally EU is slightly more closer to JP releases if the Kirby's Return to Dreamland, Splatoon's translation and Rhythm Paradise Wii's Dual-tracks mean anything.
Strangely enough calling it the Super Wii would've likely driven home that it's a newer, stronger console.
I mean nobody thought the Super Nintendo was the NES did they
Yeah but everyone would call it the "swee"
Better than "suh-ness" or "ss-ness"
Better than "suh-ness" or "ss-ness"
Most people I know (including myself) called it the "Super N-E-S" or "Super Nintendo", though I do often hear "ss-ness".
Yeah i only say Super Nintendo. Saying "ss-ness" is just weird.
I almost always hear it as "sness"
Super Nintendo is generally what I called it. My naming scheme for Nintendo consoles is pretty simple: The Nintendo Super Nintendo Nintendo 64 Nintendo GameCube (or just GameCube) The Nintendo The Nintendo I never liked the name "Wii" :v:
Most people I know (including myself) called it the "Super N-E-S" or "Super Nintendo", though I do often hear "ss-ness".
I personally say the letters individually, but I have heard it ss-ness a lot.
I say Sness, I'm not joking when I say it was probably one of my first words, I used to play it all day nearly every day with my Dad or sister when I was a toddler.
So after Sakurai is done making smash dlc, they are going to make him work on a brand new smash game for the NX.
What was this Nintendo title Gamespot talked about?
