Honestly, for now, i'd rather just not give a damn about the NX until we know much more about it.
Guys, is it possible to play Wii games I buy on the eStore using the Wii U gamepad? Or would I have to get a nunchuck an a wiimote?
If you get a wii game on the eshop and if it normally would support the classic controller, then you can use the gamepad as one. Games that needed the wiimote on the wii still need one.

Nunchuck and Wiimote. The Wii U Gamepad doesn't work with Wii stuff.
This will cover pretty much every control option for Wii: Wii Remote with Motion Plus (the motion plus part is important) + nunchuck + Classic Controller (or Classic Controller Pro).
If you don't plan on playing Brawl or the Wii Virtual Console or ports from other consoles (e.g. Call of Duty on Wii) you can probably omit the Classic Controller.
If you don't mind buying used, this'll probably cost $15-25 (depending on if you get the Classic Controller or not). I would highly suggest only buying first party or reputable brands, though. I've bought quite a few generic controllers and generally they've all been shit.

No, you cannot use the Gamepad as a classic controller.

Welp, seems you're right actually. I didn't know this had happened. Still, make no mistake, this only applies to Wii games bought in the Wii U eShop.

Where do I attach the balance board?

Please tell me they've backported this to playing Wii games via disc as well. Because having to dig out specific setups is a pain in the ass.
I wish I could block it out of my memories too.
Federation Force is a game we just have to accept.
I keep reading it as Fedora Force. What is wrong with me.
Though no not actually shitting on it- I consider it a unaffiliated spin-off. It's a team based arena shooter without Samus that (from what I understand?) has no story to it. The only thing metroid about it is the title and it'll most likely feature a metroid at some point or another.
Reggie's pin was of samus from the NES game, what I meant is we still don't have a new 2D exploration based one like it or even a real prime type game.

Reggie with an interview with Forbes, called the NX the next system within the interview:
But doesn’t the fact that the NX has been revealed, that people know it’s coming at some point in the future, make it difficult for you to get the message out there about the current platform?
Honestly, no. Consumers know that effectively, as we complete one piece of hardware, we always start thinking about the next. So we’re constantly challenging ourselves. What’s new? What’s different? What’s coming down the pipe?
The way we approach it is when there’s a game or an approach that we can’t do on the current system, that’s when we begin in earnest to focus on the next system. So what that means is that our developers, a number of them must have certain ideas that will be enabled by the NX. We’re going to have to develop those ideas and get that software ready. And that’s going to drive the timing for when we provide more details on NX.

Didn't Nintendo already say the NX isn't a successor to either the 3DS or WiiU, and is instead going to be their third platform?
Just like they said the DS was going to be their third pillar? There is a good chance it will end up replacing the Wii U.

That doesn't necessarily mean it's a replacement, it just means it's the next piece of hardware coming from Nintendo.
That fact that they're making it because there's something they want to do that can't be done on the Wii U could mean anything, hell it could be VR (unlikely), it could be a mobile device, it could be anything.
Friendly reminder that you have 26 hours left to redeem any Club Nintendo coins you still have registered for digital goods.

Did they ever announce the successor program?
150 dollars for a complete new system? Yeah right, the original 3DS started at 250 dollars. No way that it's going to be this cheap.

Are you sure thats right? I checked the Aus Club nintendo site and it says that they will expire from September 30th onwards.
http://www.nintendo.com.au/news/discontinuation-of-club-nintendo
Idk maybe it's different in America.
[editline]30th June 2015[/editline]
Well after checking the Aus Store I'm happy to say it's no longer completely crap. However I'm not sure I would want to use all my stars to buy a Captain Toad Lamp.

Yeah, let me rephrase; it expires at midnight Pacific Time for America. Europe and Australia get to keep it for a bit longer.
I spent all my coins on this:

Was worth it, but I wish I had enough to get Wonderful 101.
Guys, how much do you think will Ocarina of Time cost on the eStore when it releases for WiiU?
Guys, how much do you think will Ocarina of Time cost on the eStore when it releases for WiiU?
10-20 euros is my guess.
Seeing as there is 3 N64 titles on the eshop and they all cost $10 each with tax. i am gonna guess Oot is gonna be the same.
Just like they said the DS was going to be their third pillar? There is a good chance it will end up replacing the Wii U.
It might end up replacing the 3DS. It would make sense, it's getting old and outdated, and I'm pretty sure this E3 was the last big bunch of 3DS games we'll get. After that it will slowly die out until a few months after the NX is out.
I ordered NES Remix for 300 coins, but I didn't get the code and it still ate 300 coins

Give it a little bit, and if you still don't have a code email Nintendo's support.

I got the same thing. It's nice, but quality feels cheap.
This is most likely fake, but here is a 'leak' presentation Nintendo did for third party developers:

painfully fake
the controller is a photoshop of the Wii U Pro Controller
and the hands on the controllers faded out before the controllers did in one of the transitions.
I've yet to see a credible "leak" posted in a Nintendo thread that wasn't the result of datamining.

ESRB Leak for Smash 4?
I've yet to see a credible "leak" posted in a Nintendo thread that wasn't the result of datamining.
Nintendo is pretty good at keeping stuff tightly knitted in secret.
So far, leaks have been done through datamining with a touched of mistakes, usually from other studios, like Koei (Hyrule Warriors: Legends posted by accident).
It's one of their big cards in the industry. It also allows them to innovate on ideas without getting doublecrossed by others.
So far, the only thing confirmed is the name "NX" which could just be a codename, like Dolphin (GC), Revolution (Wii), Project Cafe (Wii U) and Project Reality (N64).
for a company who lost out on millioms because they didn't make it clear enough that the Wii U was not the same thing as/not an upgrade to the Wii, it seems awfully silly to have designed the NX to look exactly like both of its predecessors, with a gamepad nigh-identical to a Wii U controller

When you're able to datamine their secrets then they're not very good at keeping secrets. Seriously. All because of that accidental patch in Japan, we found out about the biggest update Smash 4 has ever had before it happened.
