David Wise is doing something for nintendo if these guys are telling the truth.
No details on what it could be or even a guess but still. (1:50:00 in the video)
When you're able to datamine their secrets then they're not very good at keeping secrets. Seriously. All because of that accidental patch in Japan, we found out about the biggest update Smash 4 has ever had before it happened.
Again, the only reason we knew about it was because of an accident. That's the key word here. Accident.
Otherwise, good luck datamining what is still in their studios. Nintendo's big E3 surprises were spoiled by mistakes, most likely due to misunderstandings or miscommunication.
And if you call out on the 3DS sound files, forgetting to remove files and code in an update happens to many others. Just happened to be files that pointed to upcoming content. Same goes for the yellow/green arrows icons, which led to the speculation of pages on the select screen and ended up actually showing up in the last update (if you purchased/unlocked all maps).
Now to see if Nintendo learned about the leak in the West and eventually be a lot more careful with stuff like that.
But other then Smash and "NX", I can't really see what could be potentially leaked.
Zelda U, maybe?
Remember, Valve was breached and had the entirety of the in-progress alpha of Half-Life 2 stolen before they knew what was happening. It was some time ago by now, but more minor breaches still do frequently occur even today.

Not to mention that breach wasn't even Valve's fault; the guy got in by hacking into another company's server which were connected to the Valve servers.

Most likely it's another DKC, though it would be real neat if it was for a Retro Studios reboot of Donkey Kong 64.
It could be an accompanying stage music selection for K Rool in Smash.

Miiverse is getting a redesign sometime this summer.
Reggie knows you hate Federation Force, but hear him out...
What the fan at home saw was something in the Metroid Prime universe that they weren't expecting. The reaction has been negative. There's no sugar coating it. This is an example where fans who aren't able to get their hands on the game may be at a bit of a competitive disadvantage. Everyone who has played what we are showing regarding Metroid Prime, they've come across really pleased. My ask is that fans trust us.
So far, things are playing out very similarly to Left 4 Dead 2; game is shown, fans cry foul, people actually get to play it, and they come away no longer cursing its existence.

I don't think the comparison to L4D2 is really applicable because the negative response to L4D2 was that it happened less than a year after the first one in place of content patches that were promised for the first one.
The negative response to Federation Force is that it's been eight years since the last proper Metroid game and Federation Force looks nothing like a Metroid game or a Metroid Prime game at all. It's a co-op multiplayer shooter with a bad art style that is a Metroid game in name only. Many people view it as a waste of effort, an "I'd rather have nothing" situation.
Like, whoever is making Fed Force made a Metroid Prime engine on the 3DS and then just made a co-op action game with SD characters and no Samus in it. It's wasted potential.
A lot of people at the show floor have gone on record saying it was slow and ugly and not very fun as well. C'mon Reggie.

something tells me the MP:FF engine wouldn't even be that suitable for a proper Metroid game, it's so different already

Maybe it should get a demo near release so skeptical (see: the majority) people can get an idea of how good the game is before they spend 40 dollars or so on it.
Guys The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time is now on the eshop!

Am I the only one who thinks that the complaint of the game not having Samus in it seems incredibly petty? I mean yeah, it does suck that we're not getting a main line Metroid game (as it's been more than 8 years since the last GOOD Metroid game), but to automatically dismiss the game as a wasted effort because it isn't a main line Metroid game?
...I'm sorry, that just seems incredibly petty to me.
I haven't seen a single person that the game lacks Samus. All the complaints I've seen are that the game looks shite.
I've only seen Reggie claiming that people are complaining about the lack of Samus, which just feels absolutely ridiculous coming from him. It's just dancing around the issue that your handling of the newest game in a series that is in dire straits has been offensively shit.
It's a waste of time imo. Nobody asked for this so why couldn't they made something better that Metroid fans would love instead of a soccer game and a ugly co-op game? It's the definition of a waste of resources.
It still seems to me like the engine demo came first, and how it looked influenced what the game would end up being. Kid Icarus: Uprising was another case of that.
In this instance, they probably made a multiplayer 3DS FPS engine and showed it off, and something about how they presented it made someone say "this should be Metroid"
[editline]2nd July 2015[/editline]
Is it a waste of resources if it still might've existed without the Metroid name? Is the name all that matters in determining such a thing? Would you be happier if it wasn't Metroid?
Probably. If they came out with a game called just Blast Ball, everyone would be fine with that but they attached Metroid to it and fans of that series are mad about that.
Probably. If they came out with a game called just Blast Ball, everyone would be fine with that but they attached Metroid to it and fans of that series are mad about that.
The blastball was probably a test thing they did to set up the movements. Once they realized it could be fun, they added it to the main game. The whole thing about Federation Force is a 10 year long dream for the Metroid Prime guy, so I don't think the two could be separated.
I've finally finished the first adventure map for Hyrule warriors and unlocked the master sword/ultimates.
Now I have a problem on the master Quest map where none of the tree can be destroyed. Candles don't work and I have no recorder, so I literally can't advance on the map. Which is a shame. The other problem I have with this map is too many character specific levels, characters that I hate at that.
How does OOT play? Good?
How does OOT play? Good?
About the same as you'd expect from playing it on an emulator. I'd suggest the 3DS version if you have a 3DS.
fuck oot, shadow dragon is where it's at
seriously though that's the sort of game the virtual console needs imo. i've been looking for a copy of it everywhere and they just plop it on the VC so that's 10 bucks from me they're getting. also advance wars 2 is on there as well now.
If I buy the Metroid Prime Trilogy from the Wii Virtual Console thing am I able to play it without the nunchucks?
Also, is Paper Mario worth it? Only played Legend of thousand year door and thought that it was great.

July 16th, Pokken launches to arcades in Japan with two other characters.

I'm assuming more characters will be added over time, and/or when the game gets a console release.
Cross post from the modelling hacks thread, but I've been so bored and in love with f-zero that I've started screwing around with the idea in unreal 4.
Here's a PBR texture I did for the blue falcon.

Man thoses textures are garbage, they look really strange on the simple designs that pokemon have. They should have settled for a cartoon/cell shaded theme imo.
Was probably a compromise between the two teams working on the game, one wanting cartoony and the other wanting grit.
Doesn't look that bad though, in my opinion. Certainly better than Brawl's weird style mishmash.
