I like that the roller coaster ghosts don't look like they're having fun at all. One of them is just glancing at it's friend like "why are we here."
To be fair, he's probably wondering why the track just disappears right in front of them.
50-180 bucks, shit. I hope shipping is not too hard on it as well. Not much of a problem right now tho.
If it comes out to more than $100 to repair, ask if they have any refurbished Gamepads you can buy as a replacement instead. Considering $180 is nearly 2/3rds of the cost of a Wii U, that's a bit ridiculous. You might as well spend an extra $20 and get a whole refurbished Wii U, gamepad and all, from Nintendo for that much. Also, did you drop your Gamepad from a second story or something? :v: I drop mine CONSTANTLY and the little tucker is no worse for wear. Maybe invest in a hard-shell case?

What a shame.
Itagaki just addressed this on Facebook: I guess we will see who is right about the game in a few days.
I thought you could buy Gamepads separately? Or maybe that was only possible in Japan, not sure.
You can, but I haven't seen them online or in-store. On eBay they're like $180 which is, as I previously stated, a ridiculous price for them.

To be fair Disaster got most of its cult popularity in the states from not being available in the states. People are more willing to overlook the flaws in something if it is perceived as rare or exotic.
To be fair Disaster got most of its cult popularity in the states from not being available in the states. Not publishing it was being shitty especially because NoA thought countless shite titles were worth being published, as if fucking excitebots was SOOO much better, let alone the Wiiware garbage that was coming out weekly
Tried out Star Fox Zero at a convention today. It's pretty fun. Gyro controls threw me a bit because you can't really aim by moving your ship anymore. But once you get used to it its all good.

That Bowser sprite is surprisingly cute.

Mario looking a little Fix-it Felix Jr. in that art
Why was Reggie such a cunt about Disaster?
The disconnect between men in suits and actual human beings is pretty wide, and the idea of liking something because of how janky it is is totally lost on them. It's why we have to depend on younger companies like XSeed to give us things like Earth Defense Force, because a businessman would look at that game and think "wow this is shit nobody would want this" when pretty much everyone that's ever played an EDF game has loved it. That said... I dunno about Devil's Third. NoA hasn't made a good name for themselves lately with them just opting to not release things that people want (see Xenoblade, Last Story, Pandora's Tower, Fatal Frame 5), but I feel like maybe Devil's Third might be applicable this one time? Like if the game really is as bad as people say it it, I imagine they're just trying to prevent a second Sonic Boom incident.

The only thing that looked interesting about Devil's Third is the map editor for multiplayer, and that's basically just putting down a bunch of prefabs on pre-existing maps. Only the Japanese channels covered that tidbit. Otherwise it seems like a mediocre third-party action game that wants to be both a shooter and a hack-and-slash and forgot to refine both elements, combined with a cheesy protagonist who runs around shirtless killing tons of dudes with guns and a katana like a baritone russian badass while everyone else looks like either anime or Call of Duty. As someone once put it he's literally Russian Samurai Vin Diesel who is nonironically named Ivan. It's so all over the place and conflicting, and it makes me wonder if Itagaki leaving Team Ninja made Ninja Gaiden 3 suck as much as it did or if it was alternative reasons given how crappy it looks.
I've been looking forward to devil's third because of how janky and silly it looks. I absolutely ADORE Japanese companies trying to make games that appeal to Americans because the results are always so weird and technically messy but ultimately fun. Stuff like EDF, Vanquish, Disaster, Binary Domain, hell even the MGS series applies. Devil's Third looks like it has a super weird MGS styled sense of humor and I'd love to get my hands on it. That said: looks like we don't have to worry about it. NoA just indirectly responded to the Unseen64 video.

Looks like the Unseen64 guy Tamaki put his personal Twitter on protected after being bombarded with harassment over this. Hope he comes back soon. Edit: Looks like Unseen64 is trying to distance themselves from his statements.

That game was a mess when Nintendo took their first look at it. Wasn't fun to play, was buggy as hell, and aside from the sanity effects it wasn't very compelling in story or direction. What we got was the result of a harsh intervention, a lot of hurt feelings and dampened pride, and 7 additional months of development. [editline]11th July 2015[/editline] They came to Nintendo expecting intrigue and praise, but what they got instead was basically "Wow this is terrible. Half the game needs to be rebuilt from scratch, we'll show you how to do it right."
when did super mario maker get a souls style comment system?
I only dislike how nintendo themselves are not following their own style on SMM, that giant bowser sprite on SMW looks so weird and this one doesn't even respect the NES pallete [editline]11th July 2015[/editline] The Airship theme for SMW doesn't even have SPC instruments wtf
While the SMW Bowser is weird as shit, this is an Amiibo Bowser sprite. The Amiibos are SMB1 only I believe, but only direct sprite imports (like Link) adhere to their NES sprite limits. The rest just do their own thing. I need to hear that SMW Airship theme to really comment on it though.

You're buying 4 physic engines from the games, not the actual games themselves. Edit: Wait I'm gold now. When the hell did that happen?

Mario Maker might have a lot of conflicting styles but as long as it's easy to keep within a single style I believe a lot of more spectacular levels can be made using it. Given that many people have been grasping at mods for New Super Mario Bros. as a fresher experience in level design and freedom, I really see this game sating even the most determined level builders.
