What's that game below the Netflix app?
I thought Meme Run was a fun little game.
Sure it got boring after playing it for about 60 seconds, but it was an entertaining 60 seconds.

Electronic Super Joy I think.
To own the rights to the Trollface image is like to own rights to a steaming turd. A golden steaming turd that no one wants anything to do with, but you can proudly caress it at night before going to sleep in your bathtub.
Regardless, good on them for taking that garbage off on the E-shop.
I hope Nintendo refuses to put it back on, just because he tried to get away with copyright infringement before the DMCA.
Nintendo will surely pressure them to re-evaluate all content now that they've had multiple use violations and a DMCA.
If it does come back, it might look totally different.
Woo! I just got kirby and the rainbow curse for my birthday today!

i have several questions

Looking at this, I started wondering. Was if Nintendo bought the rights for the CD-I games and makes them right?
Like, imagine a Hotel Mario that has cutscenes in the style of the New Super Mario Bros. cutscenes with text bubbles, that is balanced properly and feels right? And if you beat it normally, you unlock the "voice" options, which allows you to replace the text bubbles with voice acting from the official voices. And if you beat it on the highest difficulty, you unlock the original version of the game, aswell as new options for the new version which replaces the cutscenes and voice acting with the ones in the original.
A pipedream, sure, but a man can dream.
so i finally got this mayflash thing, and it came with one of these ancient things called a 'DRIVER DISC'
i don't have a cd drive or a record player for that matter, is the first link on this page pretty much the same thing?
[editline]edit[/editline]
or better question: would this thing function no problem without drivers?

Nah, what we need them to buy the rights to is Mario's Time Machine, but with the plot being travelling to different time eras in the Mushroom Kingdom, rather than Earth.
(Granted, since Mario and Bowser have already figured out how to time travel in at least two separate "canon" games, they don't really need the rights I suppose aside from having a relevant title)
.

Yeah, you need to download from the driver page if your PC doesn't accept the disc format for the peripheral to work. They keep all of their drivers online for free download for this purpose.
Planning to buy a Wii U in the near(?) future, so I'm making a list of games I will get for sure. So far it's basically just platinum titles (bayonetta 1/2, Madworld, Wonderful 101).
Anyone got suggestions that I should add to the list ? No official nintendo games like mario kart/smash/captain toad because these are pretty obvious already.

I'd recommend Shantae and the Pirate's Curse and Mighty Switch Force: Hyper Drive Edition on the eShop ($20 and $10, respectively), not sure if they're your type of game, though.

If you don't already have it for another platform: Shovel Knight

Oh shit.
"You see those mountains? You can go to them. Isn't a fucking mazing?"
"But you know what else is better.'
*Snap fingers to show over the mountain*
"YOU CAN GO FUCKING FURTHER."
*Anouma then stands up with his arms up and leaves*
THAT is how it should have been done.
I'm taking that with a grain of salt. Furthermore even if we can run up and down the mountains all day it doesn't mean much if there's nothing particularly interesting up there.

I find it funny how every trailer for a game with an open world, is introduced with "See those mountains? you can go to them."
Who cares if there's "nothing interesting" on top of the mountain. Isn't one purpose of a game is to immerse you into the world? My mind doesn't need flashy things going on all the time to be entertained. In Skyrim I climbed everything just for the hell of it and walked everywhere.
It's an exploration game. And they are making a huge emphasis on that this time around, while improving the battle system and maybe new puzzles.
If you had to fight every 5 meters, it would get tiresome and you wouldn't want to keep going. It doesn't mean it will be empty. You can fill the world with dozen of others things like likable NPCs, dark caves, old mysterious ruins, environment-based mini puzzles (like that one in TP near the castle, there is a Greek-like auditorium where you use the Dominion Rod to move pillars), creatures (like the wild horses that ride along with you), etc. There might be other short activities you can do to, like apple picking or material hunting (if upgrades are a thing again. It was a great thing in SS). Or grass cutting (as a sidequest thing, it would be funny).
Plus, if it's a mountain, it's pretty much going to be Death Mountain, where danger is imminent. I would love to see that region become really treacherous to pass by, even if it's a shorter route. Not just monsters but stuff like rumble that triggers at random at your feet, massive drops, tiny roads where you have to make your horse go slowly and other stuff that gives the player the feeling of constant danger from nature itself.
Shit that would make yourself shiver if you were there yourself.

Oh, cool. I've been wanting to play that, but it's one of those games that would just instantly disappear in my Steam library if I bought it on PC, know what I mean?

holy shit i've never seen footage of this before. it's like a classic sonic 'clone' but still hella unique. i always thought the original sonic games were rad (more rad than anything past sonic3+k) and i always wondered why there weren't any other platformers like it back in the day.
some of those sprite animations are really impressive.

There might not be anything /over/ the mountains, maybe, but who knows if there's a whole city of gorons lying inside of it? That's how I think they'll do it.
Man, how awesome would it be for Zelda U at E3 to be like "Well, here's the map we've shown off before, but we've been hiding a secret" then scroll up to reveal a larger continent up above it all. With Xenoblade Chronicles X reaching 400km^2 (with zelda u's map being perceived as 50-55), it could be very possible.

I still think that the map shown at the Game Awards is only a part of it. The dark sections on each side really feels like uncharted territory. They never touched the map itself to move it. Only the zoom buttons.
And it zoomed out to black sections? It's very suspicious.

Look, it's fair to be concerned. You can say "there doesn't need to be a fight every 5 minutes" but if I'm playing a game and I'm going through a generic field for 5 minutes that's some straight up bullshit. Sure first time through I'd probably dig it but imagine going back and forth and each trip taking that long adding up to possibly a hour or so of backtracking for just one area. It's not okay at all.
Hell with them boasting how HUGE and NEVERENDING the map is or whatever I'm terrified of how they're going to handle heart pieces or the fact the towns are going to be filled with cardboard cutouts that don't really have much more then a single line of text.
It's fair to be excited but don't be blindly excited and instantly think that bigger is always better. They really need to release more footage sometime soon to show how it's coming along.
