Just because you dislike something doesn't mean it's a god given fact it's terrible and everyone who likes it is in the wrong.

Just because you dislike something doesn't mean it's a god given fact it's terrible and everyone who likes it is in the wrong.
Where did I say you can't like it or you're a lesser person or anything bad about you as a person in general. You're doing a awful lot of implying. It is a bad series and when someone goes "can I get opinions on said series" that is what tends to happen. Please grow up and realize that because someone thinks a series is bad (and has given proof in the past as well as explained the reasoning) it doesn't mean I suddenly hate you or anyone who disagrees. It's just that. For sake of argument here's why I think it is bad. Feel free to discuss, - The plot is a mess. The rules of how psyenergy and the characters motivations are flipped and flopped at the writers whim. Things are constantly explained and never shown and plot holes and railroading (at least in the first one) are literally introduced in the first few seconds of actual gameplay. Most characters end up being entirely interchangable and nobody ever has a defined personality despite having books worth of ramblings and reactions. None of your choices matter in what you say and all freedom is a illusion of the worst kind. A enemy will tell you to hand over a item to save someone for example and if you say no your party member without even remarking will go "here is the item we are all in agreement you can have it." - The gameplay is extremely barebones and boils down to spamming the best summon you can. There is literally no stratagey in any of the fights- it's just call the coolest flashiest thing you can then recharge your djinn. The music is great and at the time the graphics were fantastic but outside that the battles are completely dull and uninteresting. - Most "puzzles" boil down to insanely lazy block pushing puzzles. There is almost nothing aside from pushing a block or freezing a puddle. They introduce a handful of different powers but almost none of them are used to any extent to the point where in the final light-house the most exciting thing they do is have you read the minds of statues before pushing them anyway. This sucks. - Seriously though the characters change on a dime and they contradict themselves constantly- sometimes multiple times in the same scene. Even the ending of the first game is a utter wreck having [sp]Felix betray the two that saved him to save Sheba. They get ready to fight but when you show up they suddenly 180 and act noble as if the confrontation they JUST had never happened "Felix quick you must save Sheba even though we just said we'd stop you!" (best part is Felix doesn't leave, and congratulates you on beating them up) (Also they turn into that dragon for literally no reason despite being a human and it never being established that that is a thing humans can do. It makes no sense).[/sp] The writing is bad. It is really really bad. It expects you to care about a handful of characters and none of them matter. People only remember Isaac because he is the main character of the first game and Felix because he is the main character of the second. I can keep going if you'd like.
Gonna go against it and say pass on Golden Sun because GS fucking sucks and sold on visuals alone [editline]20th March 2015[/editline] I mean I've said it before but only get it if you like Tim Buckley's writing style and anime characters going ...! for 20 minutes every cutscene. Or if you enjoy a assload of plotholes. Or just garbage in general.
You wanna' fight mate [editline]20th March 2015[/editline] Also, thinking about posting the entire 8-page passcode of my character builds on Miiverse so everyone can just cheat and use my stats for when The Lost Age comes out. :v:
You're doing a awful lot of implying. Please grow up
Ack, the cringe. Never mind, please continue along your merry way. My apologies for replying at all.
How about them wiiu games, guys?
Ack, the cringe. Never mind, please continue along your merry way. My apologies for replying at all.
So no actual response? Alright. [editline]20th March 2015[/editline]
How about them wiiu games, guys?
One time I jumped on a goomba and got some points. Though actually kinda curious- would people rather have a Sunshine 2, Galaxy 3 or something completely new from the next Tokyo EAD game? Going back to just playable Mario and nothing else at this point feels like it would be a step backwards after 3D World personally.
I want 64-2 i loved the abstract level design of that game.
I wouldn't mind that but I think the levels would have to be a lot more elaborate. Going back to 64 recently the levels feel like playgrounds but kinda empty and some stars felt like they ran out of things to do so they just put them out in the open or made them randomly obtuse. (Namely thinking of the one in Whomps Fortress where you had to shoot yourself at the wall to reveal a star). 64 DS was a step in the right direction though Luigi was way too good. I don't remember using anyone else really unless I had to because he just seemed better.

i want Sunshine 2 for dem visuals
Mario's not being sold alone in the states either. It's solely to push Mario Party 10.
That's...unusual. Surely there's a reason for this?
Force MP 10 sales. They know its probably gonna bomb among non-collectors so there you go.
I saw three Mario's at Gamestop when I went with my girlfriend to get her Kirby and the Rainbow Curse.
So Mario Party 10 sounds pretty bad. Not really surprised considering the last ones were pretty shitty.
I heard that Mario is only bundle exclusive at launch, and will be sold normally not too long after the others. This source says April 3rd for standalone, so make of that what you will. http://www.thetanooki.com/2015/03/10/target-indicates-standalone-super-mario-series-mario-amiibo-coming-april-3rd/
Figured I'd mention it for Wario fans but in Mario Party 10's amiibo party, when a player is using a amiibo they have a song from their series play when it's their turn (it's a generic song if a cardboard cutout is used). Luigi for example has Luigi's Mansion and Toad has Toad houses. Wario's is a jaunty lil remix of Stonecarving City (I think that's what it's called) from Shake It! and it's really cool. Can listen to it in the shop.
you're a bad poster
I wouldn't call Sift a bad poster. He's brash but that's about it. It's refreshing to see a counter to the general opinion and that's usually what Sift does. Not only that, but he at least backs up his opinion and doesn't just post something controversial and never responds to his critics.
he a pretentious fuck about it and shits me more then anything
Not really. I back up my claims and am more then willing to talk about it where you jump straight to name calling and rating bombing everyone who doesn't agree with you. Like come on dude, the reason I said I was going to ignore you is because you have this weird hate boner for me.
i was excited about a new mario party until i learned you're all in the same kart. again. it's not fun at all. there's so much less competition. wake me up when we can roam the board individually again. until then i'm not buying any mario party games. fuck that.

Please.

i don't think anybody prefers the unified board roaming either. why do they do it? [editline]21st March 2015[/editline]
Hey there's always Amiibo Party!!!
one mini mode great!!!
Everyone in a vehicle is basically a different game. It has advantages over the old way - it's quicker, for starters - but it's just too far removed to really feel like Mario Party anymore. It should have been the start of a new "party" series. Nintendo Party?
i don't think anybody prefers the unified board roaming either. why do they do it? [editline]21st March 2015[/editline] one mini mode great!!!
I kind of like amiibo party honestly. It is nowhere near as good as classic mode but it does have it's own twist on things. The boards I know about are Mario: His board has 3 block shops on it and the main unavoidable attraction on it is the mushroom guessing game. You can either get a coin which is just a coin, a mushroom that grows you big and you do a lap stealing 2-3 coins from everyone or a mega mush which does the same but also spawns coins to pick up on the lap. His board is kinda boring. Luigi: He has 3 luigi banks that fill up with coins every turn and landing on the space in front of it empties it. There's also the poltergust that works like boos from classic games. You can steal coins from everyone for free (1-3) or pay 10,20,30 or 40 coins to steal a star. Higher you pay more likely the steal will work. I like his. Peach: Has a teacup minigame where you spin around and push a button and what you stop on you claim. It's main attraction is a gambling pipe room, 5-6 pipes are lined up and you select which one you want and get a reward based on the flower that pops out. You can pick as many as you want but a Pirhana Plant is hidden in one of them and if you pick it you lose all your winnings. The boards themselves are all simple squares but during gameplay you can get equips that shuffle slices of the board around so you can start with a Luigi board but end with a Luigi/DK/Wario board by the end of it, you also get items you can equip and use that do various things like double coin winnings and a pretty interesting one that lets you travel the entire board- but you'll be forced to deal with bowser in return. It's alright.
