The Gamecube game is actually a port of the 64 version. Shares that merit with Doshin the Giant and (though the 64 version was cancelled) Cubivore.
It's not a straight port, though. It includes a lot of extra features that weren't in the n64 release, due to time constraints. Several of those features were ported to the first re-release of the game for the gamecube in Japan, and then several features were added in e+ (the re-re-release) that weren't ever seen until New Leaf. AC's history is fun.
even without zelda, the rest of 2015 is still going to be a great year for nintendo. splatoon, mario maker, yoshi's wooly world, star fox, and animal crossing are enough for me.
I'm a little annoyed right now because my code for persona q says that its already used even though i haven't registered it. It is even the last code before I can make it to gold too.

They might also announce a new line of amiibos too. Maybe a Star Fox one or a new wave for the SMB series.
Maybe a Star Fox one
My wallet. Ow.

I've had a few occasions where the code will claim to have been used, but the survey pops up a few minutes later. Probably just the site being wonky.
Contact support. Codes being stolen by keygens/random chance happens all the time.
This is one of the main reasons why they wanted to move away from this system in the first place.
At this point, are there any ways left to gain 10 coins on the CN before the 31st? I didn't realize last week was the last time you could get post-play surveys and I'm 10 shy from being able to get something.
Contact support. Codes being stolen by keygens/random chance happens all the time.
I did already, but each time it got to the point where you have to call them and I'm not really in the mood for that at the moment. I guess I will do it later today or tomorrow.
Someone handed me a Club Nintendo code I can't use, no one I know wants it. Feel free to just have it : UENCUTXIEPY1PUE4

You actually have to open the case and pull out the cover to find it. I don't know if they did the same thing for the wii u version. I'm a little sad I'm missing out on the dlc, but I'm sure they will make it available some other way. Like maybe through an amiibo.
It's been two months, Nintendo. Where's my often bimonthly Nintendo Direct?
Holy shit I hope not. If amiibos started offering content like that with them the scalpers will have a fucking heyday
Well, hopefully, Nintendo will start producing vastly more amiibos. After seeing they sold more Amiibos than fucking consoles I'm sure they'll be eager to have more in-stock next round. Also, I really don't like that Amiibos can only store data for one game. I feel like it's a ploy to get me to buy separate (possibly multiple) amiibos every game. Amiibo Party in Mario Party 10 is obviously a ploy to get people to buy Amiibos, but at least you get something in return, y'know? The game data thing is just "we're intentionally limiting the functionality of this product so that you have to buy more if you want to use it more." Even if it could only save two games I'd be happy with that.
They can only save one game's worth of data because they only have about 32kb to work with. It's a tiny printed circuit that isn't even self-powered, what did you expect? As for new stuff being amiibo-exclusive, Nintendo has expressed interest in making cards with the actual functional amiibo bits inside of them, cutting about 90% of the potential cost and being significantly easier to mass produce for people who want the feature, but can't be arsed to find the figure. They could make thirty amiibo cards for the same production cost as one figure, there would be no shortage whatsoever. [editline]29th March 2015[/editline] Also there is an amiibo thread. Please resuscitate it and continue this discussion there.
Are you telling me they couldn't be arsed to put 64kb instead of 32kb? I'm not claiming to be an expert but somehow I don't see that as a very big jump. Regardless, $1-$3 Amiibo cards would be a fucking godsend, particularly for Amiibos you can't really get in stores. It might also cut down on the shortage of figure amiibos since some people may only care about the functionality and not the figure. I'd totally get a Rosalina model printed by Shapeways and stick one of the cards in the base :v: [editline].[/editline] Didn't see your amiibo thread link, but this is pretty much all I had to say about it anyways. If you have a response just post it there and let me know I guess :v:
Super Star Saga on VC is like 100MB :wtc:
Super Star Saga on VC is like 100MB :wtc:
Not really that shocking for a SNES game. I downloaded EarthBound on VC the other day and it was like 70 MB.
Not really that shocking for a SNES game. I downloaded EarthBound on VC the other day and it was like 70 MB.
Its a GBA game. I've downloaded chunky DS ROMs that were only 50MB. Does Nintendo package an individual emulator with every VC title?
yes
Not really that shocking for a SNES game. I downloaded EarthBound on VC the other day and it was like 70 MB.
The cart that Earthbound was originally produced for is 4MB, and it doesn't even fill it. I think Superstar Saga was on an 8MB cart. For perspective, the largest Nintendo 64 cartridge ever was . . . . . . . 64MB.
I believe the game's digital manual takes up most of the space, with high-res illustrations and whatnot.
I believe the game's digital manual takes up most of the space, with high-res illustrations and whatnot.
Didn't actually consider that before, but I could see that being a possibility . . . . . . still, that's a rather high amount of memory considering the context.
Plus, they intentionally obfuscate the ROM's data until it's actually built at runtime, to make it significantly more difficult to extract the ROM for piracy purposes. Basically the ROM is hidden in pieces amidst a sea of junk code so you can't just rip it and use it elsewhere. That junk code takes up space too.
While anti-piracy is probably one of Nintendo's biggest concerns, it is quite annoying that 12 GBA games is gonna take up a whole gigabyte.
Especially with the low official hard drive space. There really should be a 120GB or 200/250GB model so that people don't have to take the hassle of getting another drive. [sp]I still find it ridiculous that the New 3DS does not even have enough memory space with the default card to hold Xenoblade Chronicles 3D by itself, the game they are using to push the system[/sp]
