Sounds too similar to Sonic & All-Stars Racing imo.
Funny enough, Mario Kart 64 was almost Super Mario Kart R, ala Sonic R.
Dunno what a better name for the Wii U would be though.
The Super Wii.
The Nintendo U ?
Honestly I think that "Wii 2" would have been better than "Wii U". At least you wouldn't have people who think it's an accessory to the wii.
dk64 is on eshop now
Oh, you guys had to wait for it? It came out immediately after the direct over here.
Sure enough, it is Donkey Kong 64.

Hi, welcome to Nintendo of North America, here's your complimentary gettting shanked over in comparison to other regions.
Why are they only releasing like one game a month to the eshop? I'm sure they have the rights to more of the n64 library than just those two games.

They do but they're slow as shit. The Wii VC has all the titles and now they have to do the process of porting all over again.

Remember that they're not ports, the games are emulated. Nintendo just has to make slight changes to a generic Wii U N64 emulator then prepare all the instructional manual/promotional stuff. Nintendo absolutely has the resources to churn out every first party N64 game for VC in well under a year. They just don't have VC titles as a priority.

If I had to name the system and it absolutely must include the moniker "Wii" in it, I would have called it the "WiiToo".
Of course, I would have named it something else besides including Wii if given the chance but that's besides the point.
I have no idea why I held off Sonic Colors for so long, and i'll probably say the same once I get around to Super Mario Galaxy.
You definitely will.
SMG2 isn't nearly as good as SMG by the way
[editline]17th April 2015[/editline]
like you can skip it if you want, but i feel like if it were to be released today it would be a $15 expansion pack/epilogue to SMG
I still prefer SMG over SMG2, but that doesn't mean that SMG2 isn't an amazing game.
Get both ya nerd. :v:
I much prefer SMG2 because it takes all the concepts of 1 and refines them to perfection.
I found SMG2 to be a little more, I dunno', soulless maybe, than SMG. I mean it was a good game and it did serve to refine the concepts introduced in the original, but it felt more formulaic than the original Mario Galaxy.

I think it's only because Galaxy 1 was y'know
Completely new. The concept was never done before so when 2 comes out then you already know what to expect physics wise and such.

Also 2 had the best implementation of Yoshi in all of the 3D Mario games.
I've been holding off getting the DLC for Mario Kart 8.....but it's getting to the point where I might just buy it.

oh trust me its very worthwhile even before the second set it was pretty good now its going to be incredible
So lately my WiiU gamepad has been powering up on its own. It lights up seemingly randomly, displaying a message about DLC from the store, and then powers itself off again after a while. The light on the console stays red (not orange) so I don't think it's related to any automatic updates.
Can't find an explanation of this from googling it, does anyone know what's up?
- Ugh never mind, I just stopped Googling like a spastic and found the answer.

it's growing defiant

Apparently there's a setting in the Quick Launch menu that says the gamepad will periodically come to life to display eshop ads. It was a bit creepy at first!

This one includes the steadily increasing pitch :0
Looks like SEGA is skipping E3 this year.
