I posted this in the 3ds thread but it may become relavent here too. When I went to best buy I noticed something in the amiibo section. [t]http://i.imgur.com/NbGJFLM.jpg[/t] That is clearly a Tom nook amiibo. This could be for the 3ds game but there could also be a Wii u game coming.
So I ordered myself a Mayflash adapter since I feel like emulating GC games with a proper controller and Smash with how it's supposed to be without the overpriced bullshit of the normal adapter. Hope this turns out well for twenty bucks.
Part of the reason though was that Argonaut Games decided to ditch Nintendo when Nintendo wouldn't allow them to make an N64 game based on Yoshi as a 3D platformer. Agitated at being turned down, they left their partnership and turned the 3D Yoshi concept into Croc: Legend of the Gobbos. After making Croc 2, they proceeded to make medicore game after mediocre game which is why the company is dead. They lasted all of the way until 2004, Star Fox 2 was not the only reason for their fall.
I'm not saying it was, it just might have helped. Croc was planned for the N64 originally but they couldn't fit it all on a cartridge, so they released it on everything else and they even made a 2D sidescroller gameboy version. It's not like they just decided fuck you Nintendo, we'll do it our own way, Nintendo never really had any control over them and there was no rigid partnership other than "you guys are incredible with 3D technology, we could use that."
It's not like they just decided fuck you Nintendo, we'll do it our own way
They took a concept to Nintendo, had it turned down, cut close ties with Nintendo and searched around for a publisher interested in the game after modifying the concept to no longer have Yoshi characters. That's pretty much exactly what they decided.

Not saying that it isn't possible, just that it's possible that this isn't happening.

What about that says "fuck you" to you? What other option did they have than to take the game they'd put time and effort into to another publisher after the first one turned it down?
For some reason its cheaper to buy N64 games through the Wii Shop and then transfer, instead of buying them through the eShop.
lol
You're a few days off, just sayin'
For some reason its cheaper to buy N64 games through the Wii Shop and then transfer, instead of buying them through the eShop.
I thought Wii Points were retired though?
You're a few days off, just sayin'
Just a silly thing, but your avatar syncs so well with this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXgEB26vrxU
I was going through the DeviantART Appreciation Station thread and this was posted.
I thought Wii Points were retired though?
Apparently not. A huge saving of 20p.
New patch for Mario Kart 8. It just unlocks Mirror Mode and 200CC for everyone!
what was the pre-requisite for 200cc before?
what was the pre-requisite for 200cc before?
Beat all (non-dlc) cups in 150cc. I'm not sure if they required golds, but I got gold and no stars on most of them.
wait there's some people who don't have them unlocked yet? :v:
Is it just me, or does it seem like the game picks the same nine courses over and over again online? And the random does the same thing.

Ugh, The more I play mario kart 8, the more I hate it. The gameplay is quite fun and really good, but the items just plain suck. If you get hit by anything, it's absolutely devastating and near impossible to catch up without good rng. Screw the coin powerup for starters. Absolutely useless, and you lose all your coins anyways because the guy behind you got red shells. Mushrooms are useless imo. Due to the increased speed of the game, any speed boost you get with them is not really noticeable at all, and many of the tracks don't have effective shortcuts. Bombs are annoying. I've screwed myself over way too many times because my bomb hit something and caught me in the explosion. Also being chained hit by items is the most frustrating thing ever. Because they ramped up the last few place's items. Items were overall nerfed, but now they're somehow more annoying than wii ever was. MKWii had overpowered items, but they balanced out because you could regain lost ground with them more easily.

It's a good game but it just pisses me off like no other.

But this is what it always was like in Mario Kart It has the same philosophy as Mario Party, what you did and what you will ever do in Mario Kart doesn't matter, it can easily all go away within a blink of an eye.

I can beat Double dash150cc with my eyes closed but in 8 it's so bland. I love the graphics and music and most of the maps but gameplay it's boring
So I just beat EarthBound What is it with Itio's games that always manage to make me shed a tear
Itoi has a very unique and interesting writing style. I don't think there's another like him in the business. I wish he'd make more games.
Look on the bright side: Blue Shell finally has a hard counter
I'll be honest, I've gotten the horn like, 3 times. None while a Blue Shell was on my tail.

Mario Kart Wii had op items that let you cruise from last into first in one lap. In Mario Party you could steal your stars back and then some. Games that can change in the blink of an eye need a way to tilt the tables back in your favor. Mario kart 8 has no such thing. (unless you have super good rng, but you'll most likely get mushrooms or coins)
Sometimes MK8's RNG is completely against you - I could be in 8th place and all I'm getting are fucking coins and banana peels. But then other times...
Online is fucking bullshit sometimes. I swear the item roulette's RNG gets worse the higher your VR score is online.
And I was in 3rd place when this happened too. I think they should really patch how the RNG works lol
It's not so much your position that dictates which items you get I think, it's your distance from the first-place player. You might have been far behind 1st in 3rd place just then.
But the thing is, in mario kart 8 it's near impossible to recover once you get screwed over.
Continue the cycle and screw over the next guy. Then it'll be impossible for him to recover.

MKWii had overpowered items, but they balanced out because you could regain lost ground with them more easily.
I feel people who haven't spend a lot of time with the game tend to think this. There's a super good reason why players who get 1st tend to keep getting first even when blue shelled. I'm trying to think of a way to say it other then the typical get gud meme but... it's really the case of it. Mario Kart 8 is a lot more technical then the others in the series and if you can tell how to cut a line well you can snake through items and reclaim spots pretty easily. Nothing's going to save you on lap 3 if you get item fucked and it's frustrating yeah but... it's also mario kart. It's what's been in the series sense the start and it would feel odd to start getting mad at it 8 iterations in. Just practice if you need it I guess, Mario Kart 8's easily the most balanced out of all of them- coin items are the only things I can find frustrating but if you don't just throw them in the trash the second you see it in the characters hands you can hang onto it in case you get hit and... suddenly you're back to 10 coins and full speed. Mushrooms negate all off road traction so you can take a assload of short cuts if you're patient enough (as well as cut corners, there's a lot of physics objects in the game that act as "walls" you can blow through). Hell off the top of my head I can't think of a single course that doesn't have a spot that you can't use a mushroom to shave a ton of time off of a lap and catch up with if timed right. MK8's probably the best the series ever been from a pure racing standpoint. [editline]5th May 2015[/editline] Does FP have a room for 200cc? I wouldn't mind racing a bit now that I've talked about the game. [editline]5th May 2015[/editline]
It's not so much your position that dictates which items you get I think, it's your distance from the first-place player. if it wasnt for the crappy battle mode Mario kart 8 would be my favorite one
