Yeah, I never put many hours into battle mode myself tbh
At this point I can honestly feel safe saying give up on battle mode. It's... not good and it probably never will be but I doubt they'd go "wow pack 3 battle mode!!" I know I'm not in the majority here (or I don't think I am anyway) but it never bothered me too to much. Battle mode has always been a fun novelty for me that I play a few rounds of then never again. Do people actually sink a lot of time into it?
With friends yes. Battle mode was the other half of Mario Kart for me. We played the crap out of the balloon game and the bomb-omb game was crazy with a full stack of bombs! They half-assed it and we deserve a proper battle mode. No other Mario kart is like that.

I'm just saying to me, it's weird how people are still hung up on it. For me personally (and why I find it so odd) is when growing up I'd have friends over for 64 and we'd laugh and play battle mode for like a afternoon yelling about the bomb kart player when they were KO'd and the next day. "Nah I'd rather just race." with maybe like... one round in there before we got bored of it. Up to I think the DS or 3DS all of my friends would kinda play like... 2-3 rounds before going eh this isn't really that fun and just going back to racing. When 8 came out I planned to try it out but it wasn't like... this big draw to the game. It was just kind of there and bad and I shrugged it off because it wasn't that fun in the first place to me. Months later people are still pissed about it and I'm just baffled *personally* [editline]6th May 2015[/editline] And just to be extra clear I'm not trying to excuse 8 for being as lazy and thrown together as it is. If there was a battle pack earlier I'd just kinda shrug it off and be like "cool for those who wanted it!" We're a full year out from the release at this point (or around it) so it feels strange seeing people go "surely they'll fix battle mode any day now." when at most we'll be getting more cups.
That's pretty cool, does it actually feel right or can you tell right away that it's a replica? It looks kinda big n' all. Another example as a aside. I kept getting hit with items and getting literally nothing but mushrooms and coins in this race. I wish I could put up the whole thing but recovery is possible in these maps if you can handle it.
Cheese land is a bit different than exite bike arena. (and a number of other courses) You can actually go far with good driving on those courses, but if they have lots of straightways, mushrooms aren't useful at all.

I have Smash and Mario Party for friends games. It would nice for something though since im sure its pretty easy to make a smaller map for battles.

Ramps actually slow you down quite a bit (won't stop me from hitting them though) so with mushrooms cut into the grass and you can get some time on people and do some catching up. It's not as SUPER DRASTIC but there's still uses and rewards to skill
So I've been playing Famicom Detective Club II lately, and man, it's a damn shame that Nintendo doesn't make games like this anymore. It really is a treat. Also probably the creepiest Nintendo game I've ever played which is pretty good for a change.

If you like Famicom Detective Club, I'd also suggest trying out Metal Slader Glory. It's similarly dark for a Nintendo game. Also, Famicom Detective Club II's SNES port has one of my favorite credits themes ever, the title theme is also pretty good:

Yeah the soundtrack is amazing too, the music is just so atmospheric. My personal favourite is In front of the school gate, but really, I like all the music so far.
The Wii Virtual Console still works right?
Yeah, but it uses the nintendo points so you'll need those instead of eshop cards.
Figured it should be posted here but Universal Studios and Nintendo have officially teamed up and now they're working on rides based on Nintendo Properties.

http://au.ign.com/articles/2015/05/07/nintendo-and-universal-to-create-nintendo-theme-park-experiences It's on all the news sites ATM

Real life 200cc Baby Park confirmed.
I've always thought a Go kart Mario Kart would be amazing. With the technology we have these days I bet they could implement some cool ideas for items
Or they could just do something like this with the Mario Kart theme and all.
http://www.twitch.tv/nintendo Little under 10 minutes till Spaltoon Direct. Approximately 33 minutes long.
What the hell was that Miku shit When he said live performance my mind immediately went to the Dominos CEO
Interesting. Each amiibo adds 20 missions. That's a lot more then I thought. Plus more free content over the year and a demo.
Squid costumes for Smash. That'll probably help sales.
quick someone give me $60
Pretty awesome that we get a demo
Squid costumes for Smash. That'll probably help sales.
*Pre-order bonus at Gamestop Will probably become available afterwards for purchase.
Okay, dogpile me but the Direct has me straight up worried about the game for various reasons. I was already on the fence and this practically shoved me off. *Online being restricted to two maps that cycle at random periods of the day sucks. This one is what basically has me the most worried. If I get off work and find out the maps I like won't be playable for over 8 hours that is inexcusable. What the fresh hell. *I won't be able to make a room with just friends right away- I have to wait weeks? That is also inexcusable. I'm fine with no voicechat, I can work around that, but let me play with my friends how we want to play at the least right out the gate. *Only 5 maps. Nintendo push this game back so the other maps get in. That's nothing. I'm going to get this game but next time they announce they're releasing such a barebones project I don't care if it's supporting a new IP, I'll just hold off. This sounds like a real skeleton game.
Post game DLC at least seems to be strong. Looked like 6+ maps will be added, along with new gear, rules, probably game modes, and possibly weapons.
small amount of maps and some weird rotation system are odd but not enough to deter me.
For those who missed it.
[t]http://f.e.store.nintendo.co.uk/i/37/2094105615/650x822-n-wk19-ch-splatoon.jpg[/t] They updated the console bundle. Now it's not just boring black.
