...Why would you not just change the voice over and release it? That's a perfectly appropriate trailer.
The JP Splatoon looks badass as hell, yet they went with the more child-like approach. It's the exact opposite of the American Kirby covers!
If I have to give the American one credit, it actually shows gameplay. It's not as stylistic or impressive as the Japanese one but at least you get a idea of what the games like in the US one.
Do you need to have the Girl Amiibo to get the School outfit? Or is all the costumes for Amiibo and Non-Amiibo's?
Played 2 of the 3 sessions. First hour I was spending a while getting the hang of things figuring out what to do. I felt like it wasn't gonna be as intense as I hoped, what with rollers stomping people and this awkwardly slow feeling movement. I got to try again for another hour and I suddenly felt like I understood what I was doing horribly wrong. The moment I started abusing the hell outta squid form and aiming properly and using my sub weapons at just the right moment, everything clicked. I knew what had to be done to win, I knew to divide and conquer and how to watch the map for trouble spots and how to hold chokepoints. It was fantastic and I can't wait for it now. Oh and to Xonax, yes. The 3 outfits are Amiibo unlocks for beating their missions.
Oh and to Xonax, yes. The 3 outfits are Amiibo unlocks for beating their missions.
Seriously? That sucks, looks like I gotta waste 18 bucks for an Amiibo.

[t]http://i.imgur.com/zB95taq.png[/t] The schoolgirl outfit is really the only one that looks somewhat relatable to the regular gear we've seen so far. I feel the boy's and the squid's outfits don't even look similar.
Making things Amiibo exclusive really doesn't work in places where we'll never be fucking able to get them.
So... Nintendo's next console may or may not be region-locked. I really hope they lean towards the non-region lock. Glad to see Nintendo being more open minded as time goes.
Implying you'll find any lol
I've been watching preorders since they began this round; splatoon stay up the longest, and have gone up the most times.
I assume it's easier for Nintendo to keep a set of 3 figures in stock compared to the dozens of characters for the smash bros. line

If that extends to being able to access the Japanese Virtual Console for the Wii/Wii U, I could name a ton of games I'd want off the top of my head that are not accessible at all in the west. (Still disappointed that the 3DS is their first region-locked handheld, there are some pretty good Japan-only games available for it that I want)

They do that because of licensing issues, I believe. This would just mean if you import a physical game from Japan, you could play it.
I loved there current excuse though, "making current consoles region-free is just too difficult to do" Cmon Nintendo some hacker just made the 3DS region free.
I loved there current excuse though, "making current consoles region-free is just too difficult to do" Cmon Nintendo some hacker just made the 3DS region free.
They're not talking about the technical difficulties of doing it ya git. I'm 95% certain there's literally just a boolean in the 3DS OS that says "region locking yes or no". They're talking about licensing issues and things like that. It's entirely possible they just don't have the rights to distribute some games outside of Japan. Not to mention censorship laws may cause issues, especially with countries like Germany. It's not as simple as "hurr durr even a hacker could do it nintendo". Hackers don't care about the legal ramifications of removing region locking.
i personally think it's because Nintendo is embracing the digital age much more. in the past, region locking for the DS was only limited to DSi enhanced games for some reason. but now that Nintendo's eShop could get games that even appears on Steam, the side effect of region locking is that you can't physically play foreign games. because they need to localize the currencies and whatever. In the older days, people might have bought Pokemon games a year earlier than they come to the US; for a series like Pokemon, there's just so many fans, so the series can endure people getting imports from sites like Lik-Sang (RIP, dam you Sony) and Play-Asia without hampering total sales; but for smaller companies? it enables them to take risks in Europe by having digital-only releases like Rune Factory 4 and SMT IV. the only real major problem is Nintendo is much more buddybuddy with some devs either by publishing, Amiibo or even crossovers. If Nintendo went entirely digital, worldwide sales could be more abundant, except for languages that isn't English/Japanese would have a lot of waiting time, if they went with same-time physical releases, they would likely lose money except for their most largest franchises like Pokemon, if there's logistics/development problems for 1 region and the others come out before then, then that single region's sales would look more falsely unpopular which would make companies think that there isn't a worthy investment there at all which might outright kill sequels being released there. it might be magnified if there was several AAA titles that were going to be released but all the fans bought the American/European version. (IIRC, it's more worse if Europe imports US games than US importing Europe's. less languages = less money spent. Australia generally gets US/UK's script with minor changes) Nintendo probably can only do so much on their own, they could probably do near-same time releases if they spearhead localizations like they did for Bravely Default and Monster Hunter 3/4. EDIT: How about ingame spotpass advertisements for games that other people played? spotpassed 5 people with X game?...does Mii Plaza even have equivelent codes? like if it bumps into american versions of Pokemon Y, does following it to the eShop connect correctly?

Nintendo could probably do the same.

According to a 2ch user, a Paper Mario game for the Wii U is in development, via Intelligent Systems employees at a job expo booth. http://wktk.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/ghard/1431178408/ http://i.imgur.com/nIJ4BAu.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ldwRuEa.jpg

Under the wii 3 lines down is Super Paper Mario. Under the 3DS is a new Paper Mario but nothing is listed under the wii-u about it. Also it has Mario Story on n64 which is already out as is Fire Emblem Awakening.

[editline]10th May 2015[/editline] Of course, the pamphlet can be faked too, but he claims that several people were told about the game. Either way, E3 is in a few weeks.

Just to wrap that up for anyone possibly curious It's that time again!!
I just hope the next Paper Mario game will be a proper RPG like the thousand year door. I did enjoy super paper mario tho, sticker star not so much.
well if this is true i hope the realized how much a mistake sticker star was and stay as far away from that formula as possible

It was one of Nintendo's long runners and the only systems that it doesn't have new games on are the Virtual Boy, Nintendo 64 and (so far) 3DS and Wii U. I doubt that they'll continue the original Advance Wars continuity (AW: Days of Ruin is not part of the same continuity as Advance Wars, Advance Wars: Black Hole Rising or Advance Wars: Dual Strike), but I'd still like to see something come of the series in the future, even if it is one of the many series reboots it has had. Bonus points if they actually do bring back the Advance Wars continuity that everyone pretty much considers the archetype Wars game series and give it an actual reason for continuing considering the finality of Dual Strike.
Dual Strike was fantastic. Huge shame there is nothing more.
