Being both viewtiful and wonferful is something that no one else on Earth will ever be.
Seeing him in interviews and videos, Kamiya seems to be a great guy all round. He's creative, he's passionate, he's super nice and he's fucking cute.

Would it, though? The games haven't really changed since the original arcade version. I don't think the Wii U one would look much different either.
The Punch-Out!! on the Wii was pretty derivative of the originals, but it was a solid game. I can't see them doing another one unless they come up with a ton of new fighters.
Splatoon will be the first game I buy digitally because I would be too embarrassed to buy it in retail

You'd have to pay tax and shipping (if you want it on release date, unless you have Prime) but I'd rather pay that than risk my Nintendo account being lost somehow in the future and losing Splatoon. That's just me though.
I usually just order physical copies off amazon. For some reason amazon stuff usually arrives the next day regardless of what shipping I buy :v:

Imagine if Nintendo made Punch Out!! their traditional 2D fighter series.

Thought a new IP with new characters and a technical game (in which they teach everything to the players, similarly to Skullgirls or Guilty Gear Xrd) would be interesting and fresh, just like Splatoon.

2 games, a tv show and merchandise.
From what I heard, the TV show is not that bad and people actually enjoy it more compared to the 2 trainwrecks the games are. If it was the show only, it would have been a pretty decent thing.

It most likely is a joke, considering no sane professional would tweet something like that, especially an hour before a big announcement video. He [I]might[/I] leave after, but hopefully it'd be because of his own accord.
Also, can I just say how amazingly silly the announcement video will be? Yesterday we got a tweet that announced an announcement that'll tell us about E3, a glorified announcement center. That's some dedication right there.
