An all new Iwata Asks about Splatoon? Count me in! One of the more interesting parts I read out of that is the fact they didn't really think about Super Mario Sunshine while developing this game, which is kinda surprising because everyone believes they're rather similar. I guess that's just how game design works sometimes.

Also, I would love to play a hidden Tofu game if they put it in Splatoon.
Reminds me a lot of Due Process, that one SWAT based indie game that had such good gameplay no one cared it was only made up of giant blocks. I'm pretty sure they had the same decisions, which led to the game becoming as we know it. Another fun fact? What we saw at E3 was about 10% of Splatoon done. No matter what you think, that's pretty impressive.

They pretty much anticipated everyone's reactions upon seeing the product and reacted accordingly for the better. I think that's pretty impressive.
Amano So we all worked hard for ten months to add depth to the game, but there was something we were worried about. Iwata What was that? Amano We were worried that people would mistake the game for a shallow game for beginners, because it’s kind of cute looking. Oh, of course it’s really important that beginners play the game too, only that we worried, "The game might come across as easygoing." Nogami Like, "Isn’t this for kids?" Amano Right. Because of how it looks, some people might think "Does this game have any depth?" but they shouldn’t worry. The game gives a lot back to a player who wants to get invested in it. Sakaguchi We’ve been playing and still haven’t gotten to the bottom of it. I just keep sinking deeper in, and I’ve still got a long way to go. Iwata So even the team who made it hasn’t gotten to the bottom of it.
So at least they see the issues of simplistic designs and bright colors, it turns people off when they think it's a game for kids.

I didn't see this posted here yet. The 8GB White Wii U has been discontinued in Japan.
The 8GB Wii U is "slated to go out of production shortly," reads the Nintendo.co.jp page. However, the black Wii U 32GB Deluxe model will still be sold, as well as a new white 32GB model starting in June.
http://www.vgchartz.com/article/259157/basic-8gb-wii-u-discontinued-in-japan/ http://uk.ign.com/articles/2015/05/21/basic-wii-u-model-to-be-discontinued-in-japan http://gematsu.com/2015/05/wii-u-basic-soon-discontinued-japan
Man, wish I could get a color change. Black is the color of "give me dust please."
i want neon orange transparent wii u
atomic purple please.

As expected, the costumes found with the amiibo are unisex. I wonder how this is going to work with the girl amiibo's clothes. Actually I take that back, there's a skirt you can underneath the armor that is not there for the boy's version.

I hope there's a suit of medieval knight's armor in there somewhere. Or maybe space sci-fi armor :v:
The amiibo clothes are probably the closest thing you're gonna get to stuff outside of the urban/street theme. Cept the stuff you get from the single player of course
atomic purple please.
[T]http://i.imgur.com/mECli8l.jpg[/t] They have transparent red and blue 2DSs, why can't we have atomic purple?
I had the silver Pikachu gameboy color but I sold it to get a copy of Pokemon Sapphire
I noticed how there is a level meter and a rank meter in this video, has it been explained how they work yet?
Level is tied to Turf War, you get experience as you level up your gear and yourself. The guns unlock Rank is for Ranked Battles only and that goes up based on how well you do there. [t]http://i.imgur.com/oKec7Pt.png[/t] There's also this one which resets everyday. When you win or play a bunch and you level up, you can talk to Judd in the plaza to get coins.
I noticed how there is a level meter and a rank meter in this video, has it been explained how they work yet?
Shopkeepers stuff they offer is determined by level. If you're not good enough they call you lame and shove you out the door for wasting their time.
I think I'm going to be a man and shell out the money to buy a Wii U game. :v: It's so hard justifying spending $60 on a single game, but my Wii U really has been collecting dust since Smash. I think I'm going to go with Donkey Kong Country Wii U; the other day I noticed I owned every Donkey Kong Country + Land game... I hope it's worth it!
How come Splatoon seems to be more expensive in other regions? I got it for 35€ here
How come Splatoon seems to be more expensive in other regions? I got it for 35€ here
I got it for $60 at the time. but i hear thats its up to $80 at my place now (CAN)

I want to recommend some games.
What games do you have? I want to recommend some games.
Super Mario Brothers Wii U, Super Luigi Wii U, Wind Waker HD, Mario Kart Wii U, Super Smash Brothers Wii U, and a few dinky little titles like Zombi U and Wario Ware Wii U. I kinda want a game that gives me a solid bang for my buck, but isn't crazy long. Like, I'm finding it harder and harder to stay fully engaged in monster 50+ hour games.
Get Bayonetta 2. It also comes with Bayo 1 and is super fun.
Holy shit. I totally forgot about that game. Yeah I remember hearing that it came in with both, I'm glad that wasn't a limited edition thing. How's the frame rate? I heard it was a bit wonky in the original version of the game.

You shoulda got it when it was $30 though. [editline]22nd May 2015[/editline]
Holy shit. I totally forgot about that game.
