But then they would need to implement things like controls that don't suck and good level design, and then it wouldn't really be Sonic 06 anymore.
Sonic 06 has really great level design actually. It's just hindered by horrid controls and camera.

But even if you fixed the controls and camera, places like White Acropolis are pretty awkward, especially in the last section which is just pointlessly large and attempting to be some weirdly interconnected mini-sandbox for no good reason when you can skip just about all of it.
sonic 06 was pretty good in the two seconds you get to play as blaze
Well, part of the end-goal of that 06 Unity port is to try and make the game actually fun. They're working on getting the bare-bones in first and then they wanna start rebuilding the things that need it, and polishing and adding things in to make it fun and playable.
As far as I know they want to make 1:1 port
at this point someone find a way to mod classic amy or blaze into mania or sega give us rush 3 on pc and i'd be over the fuckin moon

Crisis city is the best level in the game.
As far as I know they want to make 1:1 port
Are they going to recreate the long loading times? :v:
Are they going to recreate the long loading times? :v:
Ironically, emulation of '06 can already cut down the loading times so much that they're barely an issue.
Sonic 06 has really great level design actually. It's just hindered by horrid controls and camera.
Haha.......what?
Sonic 06 has really great level design actually. It's just hindered by horrid controls and camera.
not sure if i would go that far it had good themes, but that's the most i would give it.
Sonic 06 has really great level design actually. It's just hindered by horrid controls and camera.
Horrid platforming, gimmicks, constant automation that is basically the only way to go fast in them outside of mach speed sections, a billion sections where you're closed off and need to combat enemies in a slow fashion....what's the appeal?
Sounds awfully similar to SA1 and 2.
Neither Sonic Adventure is perfect but you're saying the level design is as bad as 06? I quite like Sonic Adventure 1 it is nothing like 06.

If anyone is running Sonic Generations with a wired 360 controller on Windows 10, could you post a copy of the contents of your PlayerInput.cfg? It's usually in Documents\My Games\Sonic Generations\Saved Games It worked fine when I was running Windows 7, but now I can't get my controller to work and its driving me insane. It'll only work with the default keyboard bindings. The configuration tool is broken and will not save when I switch my input device to the Xbox 360 controller. Edit: Never mind, I fixed it. Edited the config file myself, which initially didn't work, but then I installed the Windows 7 X360 controller drivers and now it magically works.

Infinite is a Jackal.
It actually is really uncanny. Especially considering the eyes.
It actually is really uncanny. Especially considering the eyes.
Heterochromia tends to result in one blue eye when naturally observed in animals IIRC.
We finally got a new Adventure game to look forward to!
Jeez I get Sonic's main thing is running. But how many of these endless runners do we need.
It's almost Christmas so you know what that means. We gotta relive this old gold.
Anyone feel as though the past few 3D Sonic games have lost their soul? The reason is simple. Sonic Team lost most of their talent and has to rely to on contract work and new staff. People who are praising Super Mario Odyssey and Galaxy 2 are by extension praising Sonic Team. Just some examples of Sonic Unleashed / Generations staff that in time jumped ship to Nintendo: Tetsuya Kobayashi (Production Manager Sonic Unleashed - Mario Kart 8: Deluxe Course Design) Makoto Yonezu (lead field artist on Sonic Unleashed - Planet designer on Galaxy 2 - lead landscape artist on Zelda BOTW) Daisuke Amakawa (field artist on Sonic Unleashed - Character modeling for Zelda BOTW) Hideaki Hakozaki (field artist on Sonic Unleashed - Producer Xenoblade Chronicles X) Keihan Fujii (field artist Sonic Unleashed - Landscape Modeling Zelda BOTW) Ryoichi Yamagishi (field artist Sonic Generations - Course Design Mario Kart 8: Deluxe) Masahiro Ukai (Programmer Sonic Generations - Programmer Xenoblade Chronicles 2) There's a clear pattern here as well. It usually goes like: -> Sonic game -> Mario & Sonic Olympics -> Nintendo -> Sonic game -> random contract work -> Nintendo SEGA doesn't seem to always have large scale Sonic projects in production so staff moves on after finishing the game. Usually within the company itself (say from Sonic to Yakuza or from Sonic on console to a mobile Sonic game or Puyo Puyo). I imagine that for projects like the new Valkyria Chronicles they also pick the best staff from the different teams to form a new project team. As Nintendo is heavily expanding and investing (and between Nintendo EPD, Nintendo EPD Tokyo and Monolith Software has dozens of large scale projects in production at any given time) people simply move on to work on Mario and Zelda games. So if you think a planet in Galaxy 2 or a challenge in Super Mario Odyssey is inspired by Sonic gameplay it's probably because former Sonic team members have worked on it. It seems like Sonic Team staff working with Nintendo on Mario & Sonic games has also accelerated this trend in recent years. Poor sonic just give the guy a break
It's clear now Their best move is to outsource a Sonic game to Nintendo
But they're SEGA! It's them that should do what Nintendon't, not Nintendo do what SEGAn't!
Only reason I never want them to do another deal with Nintendo is so I can actually play their games on a system of my choice.
It's clear now Their best move is to outsource a Sonic game to Nintendo
how is it for every single video game franchise in existence giving it to nintendo magically fixes all of its problems
Unpopular opinion here, (and admitly I'm pretty blinded by nostalgia) but I really wish they would remake Sonic Adventure 1 again. I would love to play that game again with the graphics we have today. Imagine how beautiful the stages would look. Stuff like Emerald Coast,Wind Valley and Red Mountain would be such a eye candy. Honestly, I think I never been happier ever since I played Speed Highway in Sonic Generations. That stage was so truthfull to the original and yet felt like a complete different experience.
