Haven't seen anyone talking about it, but with today's release of IDW Sonic #4, the series is switching from a weekly release back to a monthly.

Not sure if this is the right place, but are there any bands like Crush 40? If I try to look up related artists on Spotify or the like, I get artists that did music for Sega, not really artists similar in style.

after the disappointing news that is pokemon? I'll take this, I only hope that they took some pages off SAASRT. I'm pretty stoked, guest characters would be awesome
Transformed had the tightest kart racing drifting mechanic in general, i hope Sumo Digital are working on this.
Kotaku reports that it is being developed by Sumo Digital. Unsure if that is confirmed.
At least it's Sumo Digital thats making it so we know it will play well (hopefully).
Sonic racing transformed is probably my second favorite kart racer after Mario Kart Double Dash so I'm stoked as fuck for this.
My worry about the game is the balance with car stats. Transformed showed it so well that as long you picked Shadow or Vyse you'd get away so fast. Also hopefully the items are decently effectivr against leaders. The Wasp attack is pretty weak and relied mostly on the map. I wish someone would take something from modnation racers in terms of weaponry (serious races would tend to become chaotic mess because of the weapon levrl system like a lv3 would target every racer ahead of you so you were encouraged to not waste on every single person next to you)
Although Speed and Boost (4 2 2 4) is king, I find acc/handling characters to be usable in very hectic matches. But yes, further fine tune is much appreciated. Wasp is pretty much the reason why I believe Blue Shell is such an effective design, and items like Super Glove is something I don't want to see return.
I wonder who's gonna write music for it. Teaser music sounds a lot like something Jun Senoue would've made.

That "teammate trail" reminds me of Trailblazers, that other racing x splatoon game also yet to be released. Too early to say if it is an improvement or downgrade from SaASRT, but without course obstacles it can feel kinda empty
No one shuts the fuck up, but they also have actual original dialogue recorded for this one. I'm conflicted. We need more gameplay footage to begin thinking on things in-depth, it looks like a real basic beginning game course, but i'm gonna miss how awesome the transformation system felt from the previous game. Even with gameplay footage though, you can never tell how 'good' a racing game will actually feel unless it's just really damn sluggish even in footage or you get your hands on playing it personally.
I really hope its just that footage but that game looks really slow.
Looks like they're probably on the 50cc equivalent, that and they don't chain drifts much, which is half of what makes racing games as fun as they are. I think it's worth noting that poor players can make a game look ten times worse than it is. This almost ruined DOOM 16's reputation before launch, and made it look super un-fun. And it ended up being great, just that all the presenters were playing horribly.

Looks less like All Stars and more like Mario kart so I have to say my interest is a bit diminished. Straight courses with little challenge seems rather lackluster compared to the more challenging courses transformed had. Guess we will have to wait and see more.
yea its pretty disappointing and i feel like they are going a few steps back from transformed. will most likely still check it out, but the appeal of only sonic characters is limited in comparison to sonic characters AND other sega characters & crazy guest characters.
I know, "it's not fair for Sonic to run on foot" and blah blah blah, but couldn't they ironically enough use the "Speed/Flight/Power" motif to their advantage to create a more evenly balanced on-foot racer? Speed characters go fast but with no special perks, Flight characters are slower but can fly through special short cuts, and Power characters are also slow but can perhaps destroy parts of the level to create other shortcuts and/or use special power ups or something.
That's because good lookin' cars sell. Also they are cheaper to animate and presumably feels better to control due to their shape and size. Speed/Flight/Power having distinct features would be nice yeah
All stars Racing transformed is way better than Mario Kart. If this game turns out to just be a 1:1 mario kart and ditches everything interesting about Racing Transformed I'm going to be pretty disapointed.
