Another pair of underrated soundtracks is Advance 2 and Rush. Rush's soundtrack is so different from the rest of the series but works beautifully.
For me I love Sonic CD and Sonic Adventure 2's soundtracks because of how beautifully done CDs is and how intense Adventure 2s is.

I will say generations because I love the act 1 city escape:

Sonic CD's JP/EU soundtrack, both Adventure 1 and 2's soundtracks, and Unleashed's. Self-explanatory.
Knuckles Chaotix though, oh man is it underrated: for me Door into Summer is absolutely iconic of the Classic series, if not the franchise overall (not like say Green Hill Zone or City Escape but still) despite only being heard in two games and its debut game being considered non-canon on top of that. Then you have tracks like Midnight Greenhouse, Seascape, or Evening Star that are just pure soothing serenity and fit with how Newtrogic High Zone was this bustling amusement park with sights to see.

Will admit that overall its sort of repetitive, but again it makes up for it in memorability and calmness.
I could talk for hours on end about nearly every single game and its soundtrack but I feel like leaving it with just that.
Sonic Advance 3 has some good music too.
Particularly Chaos Angel

For what was basically an 8-bit sound chip, the Advance and Battle games did some pretty cool stuff with the GBA. Albeit Battle focused a wee bit too much on that stringy not-guitar instrument.

Despite the fact Generations had like 2 songs one can call actually original, they're both great.

But yeah guys if you haven't listened to the Advance 2 soundtrack check it out. The Advance series is quite underrated since when it comes to Sonic discussions they rarely come up despite being a real natural progression from the genesis days.

I wouldn't say they're too underrated, I see a lot of people that know they exist consider Advance 1 to be the real Sonic 4.
Although Sonic Mania offers some strong opposition to that now.

This is the only reason why you can change the music in a level.
Though changing modern City Escape to Green Forest gets you fucking pumped while trying to get a perfect run down.
I wonder why Sonic Generations never added any of the Advance levels :s:.

Console titles only. That's why you don't see anything from Game Gear or Rush.

I wonder why the 3DS version only included a handful of handheld references and otherwise stuck to mainly console games. Especially since DIMPS made it, you'd think they'd want to toot their own horn since they made every single portable game starting with the second era.

The Water Palace was in the 3DS version, and arguably the DS version of Tropical Resort from Colors.

Any of the songs made by Crush 40 for me basically. Hell I even like the main song from Shadow the Hedgehog.

Fighters is actually a really niche game, not just for the Sonic series but for the fighting game genre overall. Definitely more for casual 2P matches though due to there not being much depth.

Then afterwards after all that shit you have 15 seconds to beat Eggman in a health chunk destroying mech.
When I think of the 1P mode the word "fair" doesn't immediately spring up to mind.
TBH Sonic R might've been a crappy game, but it had some good music :pudge:

It actually has the best story of any Sonic game, with actual character development, real feels, and a plot that doesn't look like swiss cheese.
Only problem though is the game likes to drag on with a ton of people who go "Yes you just beat me at 5 lives, now beat me with ten lives!" resulting in a lot of encounters that drag on much longer than needed.

Wouldn't really say it's the best, not at all, but definitely one of the few titles that bothered to expand on some of the characters (i.e: Amy and boxercising, Cream's inner badass).
Apparently Archie has been hit by another lawsuit over their Sonic comics.
Detailed in Sensationalist Headlines. Scott Fulop, otherwise known under his pen name as Kent Taylor, was a long-former writer for the Archie Sonic comics and helped with some character ideas that Penders and others would go on to use (mainly villains like Mammoth Morgul and the Destructix). He's now suing on infringement for them using his characters for well over the past decade, from 1996 up to 2012. Sonic Retro suggests that the normal statute of limitation on most copyright infringement technically would limit this to 4 recent reprints of old issues with the offending content, but who knows for sure?
It's a money grab rather than a character grab unlike the Penders case, though.
Well, shit.
From the looks of it, it's over the Pre-Reboot characters again, most of them originating from the Sonic and Knuckles Mecha Madness issue and some of which were of Pender's creation (i.e: Sir Connery, Enchantress, etc).

That's a cover of one of the REALLY old Archie Sonic Comics. Might even be in the single digits.
So I gave my hand at trying to pin down Fairy of A.I.F's lyrics for absolutely no reason other than to try the game of "guess those lyrics".
In a field of ice
I am frozen
Like a field of ice
Sure's a paradise
(chorus)
Cleared of my debt
For our counts, in the night sky
She said "adieu"
We're hacking from the doors, aren't we?
In a thin layer of ice
I've called for them
Like a thin layer of ice
I've been away with love
(chorus)
Cleared of my debt
For our counts, in the night sky
She said "adieu"
We're hacking from the doors, aren't we?
My words, beat with emotions
Though clear go through the cold
My words, beat with emotions
When we'll work out our ways
Can't waste...
Asking the man behind Daytona USA's lyrics himself Takenobu Mitsuyoshi would really help but by this point he probably wouldn't remember.

Edited some lines since I think I misheard some of the lyrics. Hopefully it makes some sense. :v:
