ITS FINALLY HAPPENING. THEY HAVE FINALLY EMBRACED THE FANDOM.

i will consider the possibility of making copies of all the characters sega has relegated to being cheerleaders, then pretend they came out of whatever time hole classic sonic was farted out of

[i]you're already making your own head-canon and fan-fic regarding an official fan-character in a Sonic game that's not out yet.[/i] :v: I'll probably do the same just to see if I can and then make My Official Sonic Fan Character™, since character creation is my favorite part of a game and I know I'll spend a lot of time on that screen anyway.

Even if the game turns out to be terrible its probably to last for a century.

That character creator looks surprisingly extensive. I wonder if you'll be able to effectively recreate some of the other cast members, to a point at least. I'm curious whether or not the custom character will potentially be more adventures-y compared to Classic and Modern Sonic, or if he just serves as an avatar during online missions or something. Either way, cautiously optimistic.

Each race has its own trait. Wolf, rabit, cat, dog, bear, bird and hedhehog are avaliable. So no. No team chaotix.

I just want a modern sonic only game is that too much to ask.

I just realized that this thread will become "Post your OC" in couple months time. Can't wait!

All the usual jokes aside, it's a neat approach; it seems stages get tweaked for the Custom or they have new ones altogether alongside pre-existing ones, so either they get side-missions retreading the same stage layouts or they add replayability by customizing your own playstyle to take into the levels differently from the Sonics.

I meant in terms of the gadgets, but then there's only so many they can make I guess.

Looking things over with a clearer set of info, I assume that instead of choosing a base weapon and power-ups, the grapple's an inherent part of the Custom and you carry some weird "wispon" weapon gadget thing. Collecting Wisps probably changes the current active type of the gadget, so Burst is a flamethrower that can be used to also propel oneself into the air repeatedly. Judging by multiple Burst wisps on the upper path in the video, this is also probably limited by energy or ammo of some sort like Sonic's boost/transformation gauge. So really you're just customizing your appearance and your power set is still likely stage determined, though more gimmicky and variable than the Sonics. Giant enemy crab jokes aside, I have to admit I wouldn't of been able to guess that reveal out of that, though looking back the grappling wires make sense now.

Well, I am super happy Wolf is an option. It is the one that I wanted.

It's kinda criminal that there's no Fox option. Pretty sure Tails recolors are some of the most common OCs. :v:

Also, the customization screen showed options for a World Map and Mission. While I doubt there'd be a return to hub areas, even if they're condensed like Sonic Unleashed, that implies to me that either Mission is a quick-select for levels or it's side-mission content while the World Map may be the real meat.

I'm soooooooo curious right now, will the OC have voice acting? I'm also going to assume that everybody in the game will just address the OC as "new guy" or by a nickname. [editline]may[/editline] I just remembered the leak! Your OC is called Buddy.
