I'd imagine the OC will probably be silent like Classic Sonic, otherwise they probably would've had them speak in the trailer. Perhaps presenting the multiple voices you can choose from.

At this point this source is very credible, but I don't see what's so bad about this story arc. I mean if the writing is good it can still work.
I wonder how accurately I could recreate characters from the cartoons and comics.

It might be good, but I have a feeling they will be adding too much unnecessary stuff and will break the flow just to make Buddy (You) have a more "meaningful" part.

I don't see anything wrong with this. I don't even get how it sounds like a "bad fanfic." I've always wanted a game that had an actual "freedom fighters" type of story as opposed to "Stop Eggman because he's up to no good!"

If they do the story something akin to Sonic SatAM, which was pretty much about freedom fighters (and really good show to boot), then you won't see me complaining.

That stinks that Pontaff are back and the character creator looks kind of barebones so far but I'm withholding judgement until more info comes out in the next few months.

I don't get the writer complaints, but then again I don't pay attention to writers names. As long as it's not Lost Worlds weird tonal shifts I think it'll be okay.
Really don't need eggman threatening to eat black hearts again or whatever that mess was.

Pontac + Graff are generally looked down upon for their attempts at making the Sonic series comedy oriented and how they've arguably kept certain characters out of the spotlight.
They also wrote for Lost World.
I feel like the game will be like one of the Sonic Adventure games with how the story/game progresses.
It could be like SA1, where you start off as one character, then unlock the other ones as you progress, but can still get an ending without playing as them, but you need to beat all three to unlock the true ending.
Or it'll be like SA2 or Generations, where you alternate characters between each Act of a stage you beat, forcing you to play as all three of them almost equally.

Weird, I've seen nothing but positive feedback from the comedy focused writing styles of the last few games. It's a cartoon hedgehog that bounces on fat robots to chase a egg shaped dude, it should be silly.

The story is somewhat centered around OC as far as I know. Also this is first character you're gonna play as.
If you're really put off by making a character in a sonic game then I think you're taking a joke too far and being a weirdo about things.
Like it's a silly feature and nothing more. If it bothers you that much just make a 3rd sonic- hedgehogs are a option.
