Back shortly after Unleashed was released, I recall similar comments that the Werehog was strongly considered to return for future games as well. I guess they wanted to find a gimmick from the modern games that would stick, considering their treatment of Classic Sonic/Wisps as well as the comments I mentioned about the Werehog.

Other than the "other dimension" classic Sonic, I can't see Forces having anything to do with Generations anymore.

[Sp]I'm kinda hoping that Shadow is more of an 'illusion' like someone said, rather than the actual Shadow but brainwashed. Or maybe he could even just be acting as a Double-agent for GUN, unless they're defunct because of the Sonic Forces. If he's brainwashed, that'd be like the 3rd game where Shadow's plot is "I don't remember anything clearly, so it's time to be evil and destroy the world- but wait... Maria wanted me to be good? DAMN, time to save the world from myself again!"[/sp]

Let's be honest here, the game's premise involved Sonic getting displaced from time so that Eggman could rule the world, right? It kind of means Sonic may not of been there to prevent Eggman from gathering his entourage too.

Really hoping that isn't the case this time around and Eggman maintains his status as the bigger antagonist.
Bonus points if he keeps them on his side for the entire game (with the exception of Infinite, who may have been the one who gave Eggman power to control the entire world in the first place).

They should make a sonic game where the ultimate evil power eggman is manipulating attempts to overthrow him at the last minute and eggman just instantly shoots them down.
He should have more than enough experience to plan around such eventualities by now.
Wait, if Shadow is a villain, why is Silver still on the "resistance" side in the game?
Shadow is just working as a double agent of course.

Bowser did that in Dream Team and people got pissed off because "ugh they wasted a perfectly good villain."
Like it was super satisfying and foreshadowed but people still whined.
eggman is definitely giving shadow something to work for him. and somehow got chaos and metal sonic back. it's pretty fucking exciting actually. i hope the story is good and explains all of this.

Well as far as we understand this is a world where Sonic never stopped Eggman or where Sonic wasn't around TO stop him, so it's possible that these are that alternate timeline's twist where they're still around for Eggman to command. or something I don't think I'm explaining this right.
i wonder if theyre actually going to take advantage of chaos' full potential in this game? imagine the final boss of the game being perfect chaos, super shadow, infinite and metal overlord at the same time :v:
