Wasn't just Wacky Workbench that had spinning platforms but also Palmtree Panic with the rubber spinny things.

The Penders drama definitely caused SEGA to take a much closer look at exactly what was going on in the comic
apparently they weren't happy with what they found
Wish they had at least released the last issue of Sonic Mega Drive.
Hell I wish they'd go out with one final issue instead of just abruptly getting canned.

Penders has nothing to do with the shut down. He's been gone for a [i]LONG[/i] time.
Like it's the whole reason they had a universal reset awhile back.

From what I know, when they did the reset, SEGA gave them a lot of new restrictions they had to follow, such as no relationships involving game characters with comic characters, which meant Uncle Chuck went from being a real uncle to another hedgehog everyone just calls "Uncle." Characters also [URL="https://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/sonic/images/f/f2/Inline_nkjtolruMz1riafjl.png"]couldn't show an extreme amount of emotion[/URL], and other such things. These were added because of the lawsuit, and most of them went into account during the reset. Archie then fucked up and forgot to renew the license rights, which definitely didn't help them in the eyes of SEGA. Additionally, Archie as a company seems like they're trying to move away from their branch comics and focus more on Riverdale, even cancelling the Ryan North written Jughead comic. All of these factors are what, as far as I can see, played into the cancellation of the book.
Would we still be going without the lawsuit? I'm not sure! I don't work in the industry, I'm going off rumors, I'm not an expert. But saying he had nothing to do with it isn't looking back far enough at the chain of events that led us here.

Problems were mounting up even before the reset. The emotions thing, for example, likely stemmed from the comic cover of Sonic crying and moping over a parchment declaring Sally was getting married; SEGA didn't take well to such an image of their [i]way past cool[/i] hedgehog getting that worked up over romance. You'd think they'd of stopped the whole Echidna shitspiel that Penders blew out of proportion, or the whole out-of-left-field revelation that Rotor was gay, but I guess it wasn't Sonic himself so they just didn't care. That lack of fucks given back then especially shows once Penders gave Knuckles a literal "possessed super green evil mode" and tried to create the whole "twenty years in the future" storyline in which it was Knuckles that killed Eggman and saved the world while focusing on awkward teen romances and horrifically drawn wannabe-anime art.
Say what some will about Ian Flynn (as i've seen a fair number of people angry at him for one reason or another), he actually managed to make the story respectable again. The comic started off fast and loose with status quo and lame humor, but it eventually escalated into a massive mess of anything goes. There's only so far you can let that run until there's absolutely no consistency or sense of reason anymore, and it was under Ian's run with the comic that it stopped being completely off-the-walls retarded, reigned itself in and ceased being a flatout embarrassment to consider reading. And even then he had to be careful about arbitrary restrictions, because supposedly SEGA got all anal-retentive about things like making the comic too self-referential with loads of references and callbacks to the games, and SEGA in general.

The lyrics sound like they're taking cues from Shadow the H[b]edgehog's[/b] soundtrack for the enemy's theme.
I actually liked the soundtrack to that game, so I'm not complaining.
Aside from 4 and the Bioware RPG I can't think of a bad Sonic soundtrack.
Aside from how Edgy the song is, this is a pretty good song. I hope forces can become a passable game as more gets shown for me personally.
