Really didn't want to buy it on PS4, but I'm not sure i can wait 2 more weeks.
What a bad way to announce it though, 4 days from release, and try to hype up a stream for a delay. I understand if the game's having problems they should get fixed but what a bummer.
I just remembered, it takes around 14 days to refund on steam, so by the time I get the money back it will almost be out on PC lmao

Really? Because I got mine approved in about 30 minutes and have my money pending within the next 24 hours.

My email says it can take up to 14 days.

Not that it matters, I do have enough money to buy it, I don't need the refund right away.
Good thing I didn't opt for the PC version, glad I got my Switch collectors edition in the mail from Amazon

That's strange. On my email it says 7 days, but on my steam wallet balance it says 7 days when highlighting it, but within 24 hours below the pending part :mystery:
This is one of the few times I'm glad that I decided to go with the PS4 version.
I suddenly realised I should've purchased Collectors Edition even though it would've cost me twice as much because of the shipping because I want it so badly right now and it's unavailable everywhere... :hammered:
So here I was, thinking Sonic Mania wasn't going disappoint me somehow.
I still want it on PC, but I do own a Switch, so now I'm not sure if I want to basically buy it twice or test my patience.

I mean, Switch does have that portability going for it.
Man, can you imagine if we had to put DRM in DNA? What a world that'd be.
I swear to god if they delayed this game so they can add fucking DRM, all because the SWITCH VERSION got leaked, I'm getting a refund and pirating every Sega game I get from now on. What a massive load of bullshit.

God fucking dammit. I was having trouble sleeping last night because of Mania on my mind and I wake up to a massive delay for the version I preordered?

Maybe, maybe not. I definitely don't buy the "performance issues" excuse though, the system requirements aren't exactly taxing. What's more, Aaron says that they found out about the delay within the last 48 hours, and I can't be the only one who thinks it's a more than a little suspicious that we're getting a two week delay on a 100% finished game set to release in less than a week, the day after the game leaked.
I'll admit that I can't say with 100% certainty that this about adding DRM, but I wouldn't put it past the old out-of-touch corporate part of Sega to make a demand like that in light of recent events.

Even if it's related to piracy I'm sure this is not because they are adding DRM. Far more plausible that they just moved PC release so people go and buy console versions. It's a dick move but it's working.
Honestly its pretty Rockstar Games tier to delay the PC version of a game four days before release but I'm actually half amazed at the same time I'm sitting here in 2017 actually pissed a Sonic game of all the games was the one. Says it all about how much I've cared ultimately about the series since the Mega Drive days.
If Sega is actually being honest, then my guess is something along the lines of "game randomly crashes/bugs on setups we never tested until now" type issue. I doubt it's DRM related, any speculation is completely baseless.
If I had to put any bets on why; it'd be on the new Threadripper CPUs (or new higher core CPUs in general). Given that those were only just released a day or so ago and I've heard of a couple of cases where games simply won't run unless a bunch of cores are turned off via task manager.
They also need to make double sure there are no major bugs or technical issues, thats the last thing you want in what's meant to be a classic sonic game.

clearly they're just the return of eggman's diabolical speed traps
I just checked GameStop and it seems they still have some Sonic Mania Collector's Edition up for grabs.
Even when taken to games other than Sonic Advance 1, Amy's still a boss wrecking machine.
How was Amy in the GBA games?
Eh, guess I'm gonna double dip for the Xbone version of Mania. I was originally going to do so out of courtesy to support the game and vote with my wallet that I wanted more content like this from Sega, but now I guess it's necessary to play the game on its intended launch date at all. :surrender:
How was Amy in the GBA games?
In Advance 1, she's like a toned down version of what you see above. She couldn't Spin Dash or even ball-jump, so she was the game's hard mode by principal of being more technical, but she absolutely destroyed bosses thanks to greater reach and super jumps/larger bounces. In Advance 2 she was just a clone of Sonic you could unlock by getting all seven Chaos Emeralds.. with all four other characters, in a game that is already absolutely retarded on how you got emeralds in the first place. Advance 3 gave her hammer some team techs and so forth, she had traditional Sonic moves but could aid with super jumps and stuff like that depending on the team composition.

I also saw on a YouTube commentary video that, if you hit a Spring with Amy's Hammer in Advance 1, she could get a higher jump out of the spring than other characters.

Yeah, she has that and the downward hammer spin which rebounds even higher off of badniks and bosses than the normal hammer hit or another character bounce. She can also grind rails like Sonic, for what good that's worth in the like, 3-4 rails in the entirety of Advance 1.
I like Sonic Advance's sprite work and art style.
I do really like the graphics and music of the Advance games, it's just Advance 2 never stuck well with me for some reason and Advance 3 (and the end game of Advance 1) feel like a chore to play. DIMPS went kinda overboard with some of their shit.
If you ever played Battle, though, then Advance 3 loosely resolves a plotline from that game.
