Got one! Thanks! (The top one)
Wow, I'm surprised that the last Special Stage was surprisingly easy compare to the previous last 3.
I managed to get a glitch on Press Garden's [sp]Heavy where as soon as the fight started, I ran left, then right, and the tree trunk just disappeared,
I went right, and got caught in the cutscene with the Heavy still attacking me, and eventually had to restart the game cus softlock.
When I came back it had assumed I finished and put me in Stardust. About to beat the game and haven't even fought one of the Heavies lol.[/sp]
One more Sonic CD code:

I'll hop on the Sonic CD give away train.

Took this. Thanks fam.
I'm going to do a little review of my favorite stages from best to worst. Not to say "worst" is necessarily bad, but simply not as enjoyable as others.
1. [sp]Stardust Speedway
My personal favorite from CD as well, not only was I surprised with how they handled Zone 1 but I was also completely taken by surprise with the amount of detail they put into the final boss. Each act, while not necessarily difficult, makes you feel skilled while you fly through corridors at blazing fast speeds eventually launching yourself up into the sky before seamlessly landing into a well-placed ramp or launch pad. There is enough new ideas in each act to make it feel fresh while also maintaining some of what made the CD version fun. The Act 1 boss was a nice callback to the mini-boss in Metallic Madness. The Metal Sonic boss battle was genuinely one of the best boss battles in any 2D Sonic game. The entire fight felt hype, fast, fresh, and stunning. I was amazed to see the 3D Eggman statue rotate around as I was racing on the speedway. The amount of detail was truly stunning, which is why Stardust Speedway is my favorite Zone in Mania. The soundtrack is also incredibly well thought out, with CD references thrown in while also making the songs sound original while keeping good faith to the source material[/sp]
2. [sp]Metallic Madness
Metallic Madness caught me by surprise because I remember it being a total bitch to get through in CD. Fortunately, it's not the case here. The acts are both challenging and rewarding for speed and exploration. Going between the foreground and the background was also such an amazing little gimmick that just goes to prove how much detail the level designers put into each and every stage. While I wasn't a huge fan of either boss fight, they were at least tolerable, while some other stages are completely intolerable. The soundtrack here is similar to my opinion on Stardust Speedway. It's a great callback to the original while making it sound unique and original (nice to see the old Eggman rap still in Act 2) [/sp]
3. [sp]Studiopolis
My favorite original map, this zone is both colorful and full of life and animation. The amount of little detail going into each and every inch of both stages had me stopping and admiring the graphics. I enjoyed the little gimmicks as well. The first boss fight, like the Metal Sonic fight was such a rush. I love how you go into the fight at top speed which makes it seem like a seamless transition from level to boss. The chase scene is a great reminder to how much has changed since Sonic 3. The boss in Act 2 confused me because it was way too easy. The giant televisions were great.[/sp]
4. [sp]Press Garden
Easy the most forgettable map in the game...or so you'd think so by the name. Press Garden surprised me because I thought it would be a generic middle of the game zone. The interesting dynamic and interactivity on this stage was enjoyable, with a lot to mess around with. The environment was colorful and lush. The boss fight in Act 2 was great because it provided a challenge that required you to think without punishing you for not knowing what to do immediately. This zone was short, but incredibly enjoyable and relaxing to go through.[/sp]
5. [sp]Chemical Plant
There's not much to say here. The first act was the same old. Small issues were not addressed. The painful rising pink water section is still there to torment new players into insanity. Act 2 was much more enjoyable than the first act, but also it was a bit too easy. There's not much I can say with this one. Act 1's boss was too easy and a bit boring. Mean Bean Machine was an incredible surprise though, and such a fun way to end the stage.[/sp]
6. [sp]Flying Battery
Flying Battery is a great stage. But it's also a bit of a frustrating one (at least, for me). There are great moments, and there are some bad ones. There is a lot of depth and secrets and alternate paths and a lot of ways to go about the stage. But there are some moments that make it difficult to enjoy it, bottomless pits are one of those issues. Act 2 was a bit frustrating for me because if you take your time, you can find yourself easily hitting a Time Over during the incredibly frustrating boss. My main issue with it is the inconsistency of it, and also if you get hit, your rings go out the side of the stage for some reason. Act 1 is great, Act 2 is partially great. I'm a bit confused on this one because I enjoyed it a lot, but it also annoyed the hell out of me on my first playthrough. I'm sure once I go through it again though i'll be ok.[/sp]
7.[sp]Green Hill
Not much to say here. It's a fun, easy stage. The second act is incredibly enjoyably as well. No real complaints, but it doesn't stand out.[/sp]
8. [sp]Mirage Saloon
The only reason I rate Mirage Saloon so low is mainly due to it's first Act, which is a Tails' Tornado section which I didn't care for. Enemies come out of all sorts of directions which is hard to see due to the amount of foliage that gets in the way. The second act however, was a huge treat. Not only is the art-style beautiful and attractive, but the gimmicks are also enjoyable to go through. The Act 2 boss battle was incredibly fun, imaginative, and magical. I wish there was another actual act I could go through. I would love an entire map based on the moving train from the first act. I know Knuckles has his own variant, but I have yet to try it.[/sp]
9. [sp]Hydrocity
For a water zone, I had a ton of fun with this one. Some segments were stupid like the rising floor, and the boss battles were really strange (was there any sense of danger in the scuba eggman bit?) and the music was a highlight as usual. I don't see myself wanting to go back and play this level as much as the others, but for what it was, I surprisingly had a good time playing it.[/sp]
10. [sp]Lava Reef
I really enjoyed Act 1. Act 2; not so much. Both acts were a bit lengthy for my taste, but at least Act 1 was fun for me to go through. There was a lot to explore and discover. I loved the art design of Act 2, but I didn't enjoy playing through it as much as Act 1. There was a rising lava section that was a bit confusing because it kind of happens out of nowhere. I could have lived without this zone. I personally would much rather have had Sky Sanctuary. Including Lava Reef is basically the equivalent of having Marble Hill. No one really asked for it.[/sp]
11. [sp]Titanic Monarch
Oddly enough, I found the stage design amazing. However, I wasn't a huge fan of the gimmicks. For a final zone, it was not as challenging as it was just plain confusing. There's too much going on and it's easy to get lost and spend a whole 10 minutes trying to find the exit. I don't have any complaints with the boss fight either, but going between the different hard boiled heavies was a bit confusing as I wasn't really sure what I should be doing with them. Otherwise, once you take off his one arm it becomes incredibly easy. [/sp]
12. [sp]Oil Ocean
This stage sucked in Sonic 2 and it still sucks in Sonic Mania. Design-wise, it's boring and drab. The first boss fight is stupid for giving you an insta-kill death without a fair warning (once you die to it once though, it's really easy to beat). The second act introduces a pointless gimmick which covers up an already ugly map with a dense layer of smoke. I will admit it's better than Sonic 2's version, but I still hate this stage with a passion. The second act's boss is just as annoying as the first, with little ability to avoid attacks and an unclear hitbox making so you take what seems like random damage, with the benefit of having your rings sink into the oil with no chance of reclaiming them. I will admit the combination with the fire and the oil was a nice touch, but it seemed a bit pointless and only for aesthetics.[/sp]
Sorry for the inconsistency. I wrote it in one sitting and it's getting late, but overall those are my opinions of each zone. For the most part, every one was a treat to play through, with a few frustrating moments here and there.
Wow, I'm in shocked that the Final Boss is actually hard, even [sp]the Super Sonic Final Fight where it actually deals ring damage to you[/sp]. So I'm guessing the True Ending means [sp]Sonic gets lost in time with the gem and ends up in Sonic Forces, if they're even trying to connect it to Forces[/sp].
Still need to beat it with Tails and Knuckles, and do all of the Bonus Stages for the unlockables.
[QUOTE=KnightRider25;52578312]So I'm guessing the True Ending means [sp]Sonic gets lost in time with the gem and ends up in Sonic Forces, if they're even trying to connect it to Forces[/sp].[/QUOTE]
[sp]What with the Fistbump music leitmotif that the true final boss has, and the pose that Sonic strikes at the end, there's also the fact that the Phantom Ruby (the strange gem used throughout the game) is making the exact same sound Infinite distinctly did in that trailer months ago where they initially unveiled him.[/sp]
So.... one of the unlockables from the Blue Sphere is fucking [sp]Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, like the actual fucking game. You can face the CPU or another player.[/sp]! Fucking Amazing!
How do I get a gold medal in the Blue Sphere stages?
I can barely win them in the first place, but I get silvers
[QUOTE=Mikemaximum;52578596]How do I get a gold medal in the Blue Sphere stages?

Getting all rings as well as the blue spheres. This means encircling what blues are properly boxed (even if they're hanging on the edge of a formation of red spheres) to turn them into rings whenever possible and grabbing every loose ring on a bonus stage too. It's easy on a few stages, and hard as hell on the rest.
These blue sphere stages are hilariously easy for me 'cuz I was a pro at them in Sonic 3 in my kid days. :v:
Found how to do the Secret Level Select on Switch: [sp]On the Title Screen, Hold Y and do a counter-clockwise motion on the Control Stick while pressing B[/sp].

For Gold Medals, you need to collect all rings before you collect all blue spheres. If you see any of these formation, do this first before collecting any 2x2 or single Blue Sphere:

If you need more idea on how to do it, watch the [URL="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9opHxlCDqk"]Sonic 3 & Knuckles Blue Sphere stages[/URL], since they're exactly the same in Mania also.
Also I guess [url=http://i.imgur.com/w73OVN3.gif]this leaked reel[/url] was a preliminary concept for the intro. Which is weird, since Heavy King [sp]only fights Sonic in the true final boss fight, and Knuckles in his Lava Reef act 2 boss.[/sp] Maybe part of the reason why they changed it.
So I really am loving Sonic Mania. Since Sonic 2 was the first game I ever played. I noticed tho that in Chemical plant zone the moving blocks kill you super easy in Mania compared to Sonic 2 which would 99% of the time instead of killing you would push you to the side if two blocks were going to squish you when they moved up and down. Can't wait to beat the game best sonic game 10/10.
I just learned the hard way that perfecting all blue sphere levels does nothing. Weelp.

And i still did it.
[QUOTE=Sift;52578823]I just learned the hard way that perfecting all blue sphere levels does nothing. Weelp.[/QUOTE]
You mean getting Gold Medal is pointless (aside from bragging rights), you just need to beat it to unlock everything then.
Just had my first game crash during my 2nd playthrough in [sp]Press Garden.[/sp] I got the fire shield and air dashed into a tower of ice blocks and right as I did that it crashed.
Had just finished a special stage too.

Things like the special stages save progress automatically I believe, I hope that was the case for you.
I am so sick of Blue Spheres, having content locked to them is a pain in the ass.
Am I the only one who finds rings are a bit too easy to pick up this game? I'm getting hit constantly and things like the Stardust Speedway act 2 boss were handing my ass to me time and time again, but I never died due to having no rings because my rings were so easy to pick up. I kind of wish they did the Rush/ 4 thing where your rings scatter further on each successive blow you take in a short period of time because it turned some bosses into absolute cakewalks, ESPECIALLY during the Stardust boss where [sp]The rings get carried by the moving spike wall, letting me grab them and recover like nothing happened.[/sp]
Besides that I had an absolute blast with this game. Time to go back and get the emeralds.

I was less fortunate, even with Sonic & Tails the game loved smacking me well and far away from my rings or outright having them phase through the floor/walls real quickly. Made certain bosses a real pain if I took any hits at all and wasn't lucky enough to grab even a single ring.
[QUOTE=artDecor;52579230][sp]No, don't worry about me. I mean, that's all Amy is good for, right? Annoying Sonic? ...It's not like they'll ever let her DO ANYTHING ELSE![/sp][/QUOTE]
Besides the fact that she pretty much became a passive Minnie Mouse in Lost World, and now seems to practically be one of the commanders of the Resistance in Forces in lieu of no Sally in the games continuity?
