hydrocity kicking my ass, but DID SONIC JUST BEAT EGGMAN USING A EGG MOBILE

Is it pronounced hydrOH city or hydrAH city
Is it pronounced hydro city or hydrosity
In Generations it's spelled Hydro City, so I assume that's the canon pronunciation.

That's apparently how it's meant to be pronounced but hyrah-city sounds cooler to me. Like a mix between the words hydro and velocity.

I never thought of it like that, and now it sounds cooler.
Trying to beat Oil Ocean's boss as Knuckles is obnoxious, which is surprising as I really didn't have that hard of a time beating it as Sonic compared to what anecdotes I heard online afterwards of other people having to slog through it several times. I know Knuckles is slower and doesn't jump as high, but I'm still surprised it's evidently having that much of an effect on this boss in particular.

I'm surprised I haven't smashed TV with my controller while playing last zone. I was really close to that... :v:

sorry if late but holy shit this is cool
I just finished Stardust Speedway Act 2 and god damn was it a bit of a pain. Though the one thing I'm really surprised about was the fact that [sp]when you fight Metal Sonic he sends out little versions of Silver Sonic from the Game Gear/Master System ports. That and they have the little spin-dash sound and everything.[/sp]

Phew. Finally got it from that seller who set shipping price to 3$. Packaging was shit but surprisingly the box is the only damaged thing.
Man I wish Mirage Saloon had a real first Act. The second act was so good. The first, however (For sonic), was not.

No kidding, Mirage Saloon was my favorite zone in the entire game and there was so much wasted potential. :frown:
New scans with renders of the bad boys. And Zavok.

That, plus the fact that Act 2 can be finished in about a minute are the main reasons that Mirage Saloon is personally my least favorite zone in the game.
It's over just as soon as it starts.
the deadly six are some of the most unfitting and boring character designs and I hate that they keep coming back
the deadly six are some of the most unfitting and boring character designs and I hate that they keep coming back
They're like a low-budget Disney-knockoff cast of characters, as opposed to the Final Fantasy-like bosses such as Chaos, Bio-Lizard, Iblis and Dark Gaia where it was prophetic (or a life-form based on a prophecy) creatures bound on destroying the world.
The one thing that I do like about the Deadly Six is that they tried to go smaller with the threat level, rather than raising the stakes of "okay, here's this gigantic monster that Eggman unleashed which is going to destroy the world forever, again." It follows along Adventure 2 and Colors where he used technology to try to take over the world rather than straight-up unleashing gods and mythical creatures to do it for him. The concept of a team of 6 deadly creatures on an alien planet trying to defend the planet from Eggman's take-over and fighting Sonic could've been interesting if they weren't so bland and mostly incompetent.
That general idea, minus Sonic & Tails and Eggman, could potentially make for a more interesting game than Sonic Lost World, especially if it let you choose to play from 3 factions. The aliens that are being enslaved and resisting, the human bent on ruling and destroying all worlds, and the people who are going to stop both of them.

[sp]Knuckles has a real first act, and it's fantastic[/sp]

I thought an entire act on a train would have been really awesome. So much wasted potential. I'm personally not a fan of the Knuckles stage but I guess it's something.
The special stages in this game are way more fun than they have any right to be. In most of the previous games they were just something I needed to do to get Super Sonic and/or the good ending, but now I actually want to play them. Trying to survive as long as I can to rack up gigantic mach bonuses is surprisingly addicting.

Yeah, agreed. It's really disappointing they don't allow freeplay of Special Stages in the Extras menu like they do for the Blue Sphere stages.
If they patched that in alongside a (non-debug) No Save Level Select so you could use Peel Out/Insta Shield/etc in a level of your choosing without going through the hassle of using debug mode, that would be :ok:

Seeing Shadow as a "bad guy" is still so jarring and weird.
The special stages in Mania are what Heroes's special stages should have been. Keeping the chase and orb collection aspects there, but giving a better fail state and not ruining fucking everything with glitchy controls and physics.
I feel like the Blue Sphere Stages controls are pretty robotic. Was it always that way?

Still really curious how this ended up happening lore-wise.
Seeing how all of them have Infinite's "glitches" around them, either he pulled past versions of Sonic's rivals, mind controls them or they're all illusions.

If you mean that Sonic moves and turns on a fixed grid, yeah it was always like that.
Trying to get the 5th emerald is such a pain in the ass. I've tried 2-3 times to get it and it's so hard.

On one hand, cool. On the other hand, the lack of additional frames for the game's extra animation shows, and the palette just seems meek compared to everything getting expanded now.
