Trying to get the 5th emerald is such a pain in the ass. I've tried 2-3 times to get it and it's so hard.
I'm glad someone else got stuck on that very same one, I swear it's the hardest out of all the emeralds. The ones after that are a breeze in comparison.
The Sonic Forces website got updated but is still obviously a lot of Japanese, seems to mostly be the recent Famitsu scan stuff in terms of info. Also background videos of areas from Sunset Heights and Green Hill that haven't been shown yet, but nothing mindblowing. As it stands, it seems Green Hill and Sunset Heights (I think Park Avenue is now Sunset Heights anyway) seem to be the first two zones of the game, which is three acts, plus at least one boss and an unknown in whether or not every zone will have Tag Team levels too. And that means I can't really sweep these things under the rug as "just the tutorial levels"; my guess is that the Mission mode is going to be the game's padding and method of extending length (and probably unlocking Avatar customization options), and if one were to do nothing but all the zones back to back the game's probably going to be relatively short. Mind you, with no info on Mission yet, it's hard to say for certain, but this is going off of what they've shown of the incredibly short stages so far combined with Sonic Team's track record of jamming stupid things in to act as filler for otherwise-short games.

You have a few easy levels/bosses/special stages then one or two hard ones and then they go back to being easy.
Trying to get the 5th emerald is such a pain in the ass. I've tried 2-3 times to get it and it's so hard.
Focus on getting orbs as fast as possible. It's quite easy once you finally get it.
Watch out for the bumpers on the side boundaries though accidentally hitting those will cause some unwanted knock back unless you know what you're doing with them and use them to boost you forward somehow.
Sonic Mania is officially the first and only classic game where I've got all emeralds. Also the true ending... Sega/Sonic Team/Sonic Mania Team you are very clever bastards. I really hope they will not fuckup Forces.

After decades of disgrace at the hands of Sonic and his pals, Dr. Robotnik finally earned some respect this past weekend at the World Beard & Mustache Championships in Austin, TX. Professional beard boss MJ Johnson took home first place in the Cheek Beard Freestyle category and was possibly the weirdest, most hirsute person in notoriously weird Austin, TX for at least a few minutes. Congrats to AJ and all the competitors who put in the time and effort to maintain such amazing cheek-locks!
The shirt looks real nice. I like it.
Wish they would actually show off some new Forces content. Games out in two months and all we've been shown is the same level 10 different times.
There's a Totino's mod for Sonic Mania now. It also comes with SiivaGunner remixes.
made a centered Knuckles mouth
.......Boom Knuckles? also iirc there's a unique guest character on tomorrow's episode. [sp]Vector[/sp]
Well the Sonic 3 sprites for Mania mod is out, and the title change was a bit.. off. I recommend removing most of the extra stuff, because a lot of it is really badly resized hud and sprite stuff outside of the Sonic sprites.
Found some interesting instances of reused Sonic songs throughout the video. Some are obvious (such as Windy Valley from Sonic Adventure 1 using Sonic 3D Blast music), but most of these were legitimately surprising to me.
Ah Panic Puppet Zone... Them nostalgia feels. [editline]9th September 2017[/editline]
.......Boom Knuckles? also iirc there's a unique guest character on tomorrow's episode. [sp]Vector[/sp]
Nope not Boom Knuckles

Going back to Sonic 3 And Knuckles and playing at 30FPS is really painful initially I have to admit. Soon adjust but damn Mania nearly did spoil the game for me.
Going back to Sonic 3 And Knuckles and playing at 30FPS is really painful initially I have to admit. Soon adjust but damn Mania nearly did spoil the game for me.
Sonic 3 and Knuckles runs at 60fps though. Are you playing some weird botched port or something?
Sonic 3 and Knuckles runs at 60fps though. Are you playing some weird botched port or something?
They're probably playing the European version of the game which apparently runs slower, especially in the special stages.
They're probably playing the European version of the game which apparently runs slower, especially in the special stages.
Yeah, the PAL version runs at 50FPS/Htz, and thus significantly slower on top of the lower framerate. But 50fps still isn't as bad as 30fps, so that's still a little questionable. But that's just me, I've never been great at telling the difference/a major difference between 50 and 60fps (ignoring slowdown) in 2d games.
They're probably playing the European version of the game which apparently runs slower, especially in the special stages.
Not running the European version of the game (Though I have it dumped, and it can run at 60HZ anyway), using the ROM from Sega's Mega Drive collection on Steam. Ran it in both Genesis Plus GX and Kega, the way it handles the fast screen motion shows it is locked to 30.
I'm actually really curious if it'll ever be possible to port the Sonic CD and 1/2 stages to Mania.
I'm actually really curious if it'll ever be possible to port the Sonic CD and 1/2 stages to Mania.
Shouldn't be that hard in theory. As far as I know all of the game code is written in some kind of a scripting language so it's a question if the scripts are compiled or not and if they are compatible between engine versions if they are compiled.
Does the PC version still have Denuvo? If so I'm getting the Switch version I think.
Does the PC version still have Denuvo? If so I'm getting the Switch version I think.
It's been cracked so I'm going to assume they may remove it. Not entirely sure though
