I think my favourite renditions of Eggman are the ones where he straddles the line between comedic and genuinely threatening. Where he's presented as someone who, for all his incompetence and ego, is still able to do a lot of damage if you let him.
For it's problems on the Werehog side of things Unleashed was probably my favorite in terms of overall story and characters
If you want an irredeemable antagonist, Eggman Nega is that way, making trouble in both the future and a parallel dimension.
He's a recolor, and last I checked, not particularly prominent or fleshed out.
he's more fleshed out in rush adventure, though I haven't played rivals so I can't speak for him there he's definitely interesting in rush adventure as a way to show that eggman prime has limits and standards when it comes to his schemes
He's a recolor, and last I checked, not particularly prominent or fleshed out.
Going to have to agree with you there: Sonic got an dimensional character swap in the form of Blaze who's a really great foil, and Eggman seriously got Nega? I don't like how he's played up as being more sadistic than our Eggman either, seeing as how Eggman can be sadistic whenever he damn pleases.
he didn't even get nega since they retconned him to be from the future instead of blaze's world :v:
Eggman's sadistical sociopath of a descendant who moves across time and dimensions. Who, unlike every other minor antagonist, has a profile at Sonic Channel. I'd say, if Silver and Blaze keep appearing, Nega ought to appear as well. I'd say, if anything, he'd work fine as somebody for our Eggman to double cross.
he didn't even get nega since they retconned him to be from the future instead of blaze's world :v:
Technically he's now Eggman's descendant at that, and went batshit insane because everyone treated him like crap for his ancestor's crimes. So yeah, Eggman yolked someone up.
he didn't even get nega since they retconned him to be from the future instead of blaze's world :v:
Blaze is weird, she is simultaneously from the future, and in another dimension/world, and may be two different Blazes.
Blaze is weird, she is simultaneously from the future, and in another dimension/world, and may be two different Blazes.
It's confirmed that '06 should be ignored for her history and origins, only Rush counts for her. She only references Crisis City as a series gag in Generations more than anything else. Silver's also still from the future, but it's the future with Eggman Nega causing trouble rather than the Iblis shit. Really, Nega's the biggest outlier in this due to crossing between both Rush and Rivals but his Rivals continuity being canon.
Didn't 06 retconned itself from existence anyways?
Didn't 06 retconned itself from existence anyways?
I don't know if Generations is canon but it made it very clear that 06 happened.
Do not take the video game where Sonic has a fun birthday party as canon. I just took that game as a excuse to have classic eggman show up and have past stages come back
Do not take the video game where Sonic has a fun birthday party as canon. I just took that game as a excuse to have classic eggman show up and have past stages come back
But Sonic Mania is canon and it basically does the same thing, and time travel and other hijinks have been around since Sonic 2's conceptual stages and CD officially. '06 is just a thing that no one wants to remember, but have to at least acknowledge to learn from past mistakes. Pretending it was never canon and that it doesn't exist is ridiculous, even if the game wiped itself from the timeline proper.
Sonic Mania is canon because it takes it's plot more seriously then not at all and ties itself to forces. Like one is a actual story about chasing a phantom gemrald around time and space and finding a new energy form that can trounce super sonic in the right hands, the other is Sonic goofing off at a birthday party and hanging out with friends while going "haha I remember this that's neat" [editline]15th September 2017[/editline] Least that's how I see it, feel free to disagree :v:
I figured Sonic Unleashed gave it another reboot, then came Colors, then Generations, then Lost World.
I read an interview somewhere about forces where sonic team now considers every game in its own semi-self contained "world", which basically means anything really goes depending on the game

I didn't know they did a stream today: That Sonic the Hedgehog Art Book looks really cool.
I don't think I've seen anyone who loves their job more than Aaron loves his job. I'm glad he's doing well there.
Sonic Mania mods are the gift that keeps on giving
Someone just managed to turn Green Hill into a straight line, even if they couldn't alter object placement. :v:

maybe an unpopular opinion but martin burke (sonic ova) has always been my favourite portrayal of sonic, and i like the way sonic himself acts in the movie. that and the way he is in black knight are probably how i'd prefer him to be - arrogant, but still capable of doing shit when he needs to.
Okay, so from what I can gather, Eggman Nega is a bit of an unhinged nihilist. That's not a bad concept for a villain, but it's something I feel should have been reserved for a brand-new character--not an Eggman palette swap. It should also be mentioned that the very notion of Eggman... procreating is unsettling to say the least. Personally, I prefer the power-hungry villains to the chaotically destructive ones. That being said, I think at the very least, you have to give DiC credit for SatAM Robotnik's design actually fitting the character's role. I can't honestly say the same for a lazy recolor.

[sp]"There is only one Sonic."[/sp]
Well, Sonic 2 HD's still a thing.
I'll be honest if it doesn't have the drop dash I probably won't try it out. I've gotten so used to how Mania handles I just can't go back to the classics anymore
So i recently went back into Sonic 2 and i kept pressing jump mid jump expecting a Drop Dash, You know a new mechanic is really good when it makes you feel like second instinct.
