interbus Vargur? lets give it a shot.
meanwhile the sale of sarum skins spikes 1000% really hope they don't revert this.
goddamn that's hard to do. Fitting modules is laggy but switching skins is instant. I can't get it :( [editline]1st May 2015[/editline] I got it. I ended up having to get the interzone shipping. My vagur is a crumpled aluminum sheet. [editline]1st May 2015[/editline] Holy fuck pirate skins work too. The vargur is now serpentis flavored, as well as my raven.
i'm amazed they want to remove these because some of them look genuinely really fucking cool
This is the best thing ever, I haven't been this excited about eve in months. Even though it's a glitch, it's fun to paint my ships how I want. [editline]1st May 2015[/editline] I hope ccp doesn't punish anyone over this, If anything it should prove that more people would buy skins if we could put them on whatever we like. Besides, isn't capsuleers rebelling against the empire the story now? What better way to do that than to paint your ship the other guy's colors. If people want the sarum/interbus skins cheap, just buy them ones for the imicus/magnate, they are under 10m each and the skin works fine So far, CCP isn't ruling this an exploit, just saying if you die due to a bug that doing this might cause, you don't get reimbursed
they said it wasn't an exploit, so you probably are fine. Chances are they are gonna fix it though.
Even if they do, how are they gonna revert everyone's ship? Literally thousands of people are doing this. [editline]2nd May 2015[/editline] I'd like if it they fixed the glitch but didn't revert ships. That way, people could have special, one of a kind ships. Yeah, that would be awesome.
They'd probably just run a script during downtime to reset all the skins.
Why does Serenity get all the good SKINS. I would totally throw my money at CCP for some of those skins.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/yrrMt0D.png[/t] Well then.
All the responses from CCP Devs about the skin bug really just amount to "the skins need to pass QA before they will work for certain ships to we can justify charging $30 for a single frigate skin"
All the responses from CCP Devs about the skin bug really just amount to "the skins need to pass QA before they will work for certain ships to we can justify charging $30 for a single frigate skin"
4 skins that equal 30 dollars now means all skins are 30 dollars? okay.
4 skins that equal 30 dollars now means all skins are 30 dollars? okay.
I didn't say all skins, I said a single frigate skin, you know exactly what I meant, and I've seen that same response multiple times today on reddit and the eve forums. If somehow you missed what I actually meant, here's a drawn out answer. CCP Is unhappy over the fact that people are bypassing buying their expensive skins by using a cheaper skin that fits a smaller ship to have the same effect. For example, let's look at the Aeon Sarum Skin. Now, as you can see, this skin costs 6,500 AUR, or $30.66. Now let's look at the Crucifier Sarum Skin. Now this skin only costs 1,540 AUR, or $7.26 (both the AUR prices are calculated on buying a $100 AUR package, which has the cheapest rate). If you were to take that Crucifier skin, and apple it to the Aeon, it would look the same as if you applied the Aeon skin itself (I tried this with the Revelation and other sarum skinned ships since I owned the skinned rev, don't own an Aeon but assuming it would too). This is where my point lies. They are charging more money the larger the ship is and the better the skin looks when the skins all apply the same color palate when using the bug. This even works using the Sarum Magnate skin which costs under 5m isk on the market. As someone on reddit pointed out, eve isn't a free to play game, they survive on a pay to play buissness model, yet they are charging the same amount of money on the top-end for a simple paint job that LoL charges for skins with custom models, animations, and effects, and LoL at least has an excuse since it is free to play and they need that income to survive. CCP Can't justify their price points if it's really this easy to interchange skins with little to no bugs involved except some misplaced logos when going interracial.
this is what got them in trouble when they introduced aurum in the first place [editline]2nd May 2015[/editline] nobody would have given a shit about the monocle if it hadn't cost $70
this is what got them in trouble when they introduced aurum in the first place [editline]2nd May 2015[/editline] nobody would have given a shit about the monocle if it hadn't cost $70
Exactly. It's not the price that's getting people up in arms, it's what they are giving you for that price. A single skin for a single ship should NOT cost as much as they are charging. Now if they were charging their top-end price of $30 for every skin, but it allowed you to apply that skin to any ship, or any ship in that class (cruisers, frigates, ect) for a price scaling with the size of ship, say $5 for frigates and destroyers, $10 for cruisers, $15 for battlecruisers and so on, that would be 100% worth the price.
That is how it should have been done. That said, whos to say it wont be done like that later since right now it's just the skins from the other ships being converted.

Some of the minmatar skins are just so similar to the default skins that I can't really see the worth in them for minmatar ships
Not to mention some of the skins like the Sarum one you got for free a year or 2 ago, you can now buy for like 10 mil isk and do the same with it
Yeah, I think I mentioned that somewhere, the Sarum Magnate skin, other good ones to use are the Police Comet, Interbus Imicus, The Heron skin (can't remember the name), and the 30 day destroyer pirate skins, since they're all cheap and readily available.
Some of the minmatar skins are just so similar to the default skins that I can't really see the worth in them for minmatar ships
Yeah they're all pretty bad, they barely change the colors, the only one that looks somewhat decent is the Naglfar Justice skin, ironically enough the amarr skins look so much better on minmatar ships than the minmatar skins.
"You can no longer apply SKINs to ships that the SKIN is not intended for. SKINs that were applied in this way have been reset." NOES, MY BABIES!
I really hope they take a look at the skin syster after this. Some combinations looked extremely nice, even without them being finalized for the particular ship.

They haven't fixed everything yet. If your skinned ship was stored in a POS, it shouldn't have reverted (so I heard, I can't personally verify it).
Had a pretty good gank on our undock the other day. [img_thumb]http://puu.sh/hFuqD/5449a2986f.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://puu.sh/hFurF/7d35ab57cf.jpg[/img_thumb] Guys were agressing everything that undocked, so we baited them with a domi and then undocked the rest of the fleet. The guy with the bling fit is only like a month old, what a waste. https://zkillboard.com/kill/46444893/ Oh yeah, and our corp uniform makes the killmails look pretty sweet.

Wait if your ship with a skin dies is it now gone forever?
