I've always been curious to try pirating or mining with some bros but last time I played. It was during a lock down on...Rita and I couldn't leave without getting destroyed. It was a long time ago and wasn't a good time to start

I wouldn't recommend mining, especially as a rookie, it'll bore you until you quit. Piracy is fun, but the pirate's life is more about attacking anything that isn't friendly, than going around attacking defenseless ships. The golden age of ransoming miners and missioners is no longer there but it still happens. But anyway, piracy is fun, much more than mining.
Well, I just downloaded the game once again and I'll see how it goes. Thanks guys :)

You have a ton of options to go for. EVE is pretty much a dog eat dog world though so you have to be aware of that.

Any traders/haulers willing to divulge some good missioning hubs in Gallente Space? So far I think the one that has the best volume is in Stacmon.
Dodixie.

I'll check it out actually. The margins between Dixie and Jita are pretty large. I also just installed Evernus and I can start putting in some time to study what munitions are worth hauling over and trading.
I managed to turn 100mil in starting capital into 200mil in a month and I'm expecting break 300mil in my wallet with in this week. This sure beats missioning.
Let's see how much the Hecate is used in comparison to the first T3 destroyers. I think it'll be used more than the Jackdaw, but less than the Confessor or Svipul.
I see it being the new wolf rayet ratter for shitting out more than 3000 at least DPS

I love reading carebears that whine in other MMOs about "griefers" or "trolls". EVE tears are good, but virgin MMO tears are the best. I find Star Citizen has some of the best tears around.

The elite tests were great. Listening to some guy bitch because he doesn't know that high waking out spools up the drive faster than low waking is hilarious.
You know with the large influx of games like Rust and Ark survival Eve players are gonna have an advantage because we're used to dealing with awoxers and scams :v
Okay so I've always skirted around the possibility of playing EVE. I've always been interested but never bothered because I just don't play games with subscription based payment models. Now's the first time I'm really considering it.
Is it really worth trying out or am I gonna be at so much of a disadvantage for having waited so long that I might as well not even bother?

it's never too late to start eve, and even rookies can be valuable assets

Does it require a lot of time be dedicated for it to be worthwhile?

Depending on how you go about it within a week you can be on the front lines in 1000+ man battles. It all depends on what you do and who you go with.

Sorry, I don't really know much about the game as a whole but I've read some really unique stories. Could you go into detail on this?

If you join one of the larger alliances (Goonswarm if you have an SA account/other ones I can't really remember since I haven't played in a while) then you'll get into some of the larger battles within a week of joining probably.
If you're more interested in smaller stuff though there are plenty of options, like low sec pirate gangs or Factional Warfare etc.

Goonswarm as a larger entity isn't even that hard to get in any more. Goonwaffe still requires an SA account, but Karmafleet, their rookie corp that is open to practically anyone, partakes in most of the events and amenities Goonwaffe proper partakes in.

The thing about EVE is that it's a highly specialized game. Even people who have been playing for years aren't able to do everything. You don't level up in EVE the way you do in other RPGs. You train skills at a fixed rate (determined by your attributes), so even when you're logged off, your skills will still train.
You can train into a frigate and run as a tackler for a gang in your first few days playing (basically you use a a module called a warp scrambler to stop a ship from leaving the area so your friends can kill it). You'll die a lot, but frigates are cheap and you will learn the mechanics very fast.
What is it about EVE that might interest you? Large scale PVP, small scale PVP, PVE, mining, manufacturing, exploration, trading, hauling, etc. The game has quite a bit of variety to it, and like I said no one does everything, which is why I ask.
I've always wanted to get into wormhole hunting (as in hunting carebears in wormholes) but I always have the issue of getting money to fund my ideas. Missions are repetitive and boring, mining is mind-numbing, the market takes a long time but I am starting out a little bit, barely making profits though. Maybe one day.

The thing is I think I'm interested in the PvP aspect of the game but I know so little that once I start playing it might turn out I like something else even more.

Which is fine. The only utterly useless skills in the game if you're interested in combat are mining and industry. Any skill you train that helps combat in some way, be it a skill for armor or a skill to use autocannons, is going to be useful later.
Okay so is there a single best way to learn the game. I've never been good at just figuring it out as I go with complex games like this. Youtube tutorials or something else perhaps?
