Really looking forward to dailies. I just don't feel very compelled to log in very often. My main account just exists to make money and my alt. account which I'm gonna use for fun stuff like PVP/exploration etc. isn't ready to do anything except some low sec frigate FW yet. Dailies will get me(and many others) online daily which should boost the games activity quite a bit.
Has CCP stated when dailies will be released?

Oh wow, just logged in today for the first time in like two weeks.
Is this still alive? I'd love some advice on a WH exploration build. As of now, I'm currently running a Cheetah with covert ops cloak fitted onto it. I'm skilled enough to easily solo WH space, though I'm unable to do any sleeper sites as I have no weapons at my disposal. I've read that most of the profit lies here and with my current setup, it's untouchable.
It seems like T3 strategic cruisers are the way to go for this but this is something I won't be able to use for a very long time. It's gonna take me 53 days to train for any of the strategic cruisers. I heard that battlecruisers might be a good fit too, and this will only take me 20 hours to train for. Are battlecruisers viable for WH exploration? Can I fit scanning, cloaking and enough weapons / armor to deal with sleepers solo?

You can do things with BCs but if you get dropped at all say goodbye to your ship.
Gang links will soon™ become command boosts. One man and his alt will no longer be as effective 'solo' play anymore. Basically links on ships will have to be on-grid in order
for a player to get their benefits. Dailies were removed thank goodness and we also have upcoming industrial array citadel content to look forward to that is the step towards replacing
moon mining pos's.

Welp I just resubbed to eve because I have no self control. Anyone looking for Logi pilots?
http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/08/31/eve-online-going-free-to-play-after-13-years with a catch tho
After its next expansion, the game will split players into two types, Alpha and Omega clones. Existing subscribers who continue to pay will make up the Omega type, able to use the entire breadth of the game's skills, ships and items.
Alpha clones will be non-paying players, who can play indefinitely but will have restricted access to skills. The skills they do have allow them to fly early-game Frigates, Destroyers and Cruisers.
Hey look
The most brutal MMO in history is going f2p sort of
It's gonna be f2die
f2GETGANKED
This was inevitable, one way or another. EVE is an amazing game, but you need a good group of pals to play with or else you will get extremely bored very quickly.
This will allow people to get well aquainted with the game (and hopefully, have fun) before they decide to spend money. Getting started takes time that players could be spending on more engaging activities, and at the end of the free trial it can feel like you spent most of your time preparing to have fun instead of actually having fun.
It looks like that CCP is taking all of the necessary precautions to ensure that this is will not be as detrimental as most people fear.

Hmm so if you stop paying the skills needed to fly anything above a cruiser will lock.
I wonder if HAC's are flyable then, or if a cruiser really is the max I can fly with my 34 mil sp toon, when not paying.
The clusterfuck of beggars and scammers in Jita is going to explode. Before you could just block people, but now it'll be a never ending stream of new folks that spam local.

How is that different from current Jita?
I don't even think f2p would be worth it for someone who left so long ago, all of my level 5 skills that I can;t use would be even more of a tease than those sick deals they drop sometimes.

Hopefully this revives faction warfare to never seen levels.
Last time I seriously played EVE online, was before Dreadnaughts were a thing.
One thing that I didn't like, was that there was this massive scale, but you always felt small and limited, since you could only control one ship.
Now I'm reading up on this thread, and I'm seeing things about planets, homeworld-like interfaces and fleets. My interest is peaked again!
Does that mean you can control a small fleet of ships, or am I misunderstanding?
And what is this about worlds and stuff?
I feel like I missed so much, is there a good place that summarizes what changes since.. oh... 2010 or so?
And that's it.
All my accounts have died. :(
Bye 2008 toons, bye eve. :(

"Fleet" control is more like being a baby sitter for a bunch of retarded monkeys and hoping that they can listen to you. You don't control the ships RTS style, you delegate tasks down to all tiers of structure in the fleet (wings/squads/individual members) etc. Planetary interaction is more or less a more hardcore form of industry where you set up manufacturing colonies and basically rake in materials to build better materials without really doing much outside of setting everything up.
The game is still as boring as it was when you took off. There have definitely been tons of changes since then so you will definitely find something cool to do for awhile, but no amount of polish changes the core fundamentals of the game.
You don't control the ships RTS style
Carriers allow Homeworld style control of their fighters/bombers. Eve generally is more like MOBA style control of a single unit.
Eve as an MMO is better when you interact with others, its not built as a solo game. Eve requires players to be proactive in finding their own fun. The pve is fairly mediocre but who plays eve for that?
The core fundamentals of the game allow it to be changed and have made it as unique as it is, one server for all [except China] and allow the rich societal interactions that populate it.

I see.
Years ago, there were some rumblings about an RTS interface and breaking out of the one-ship-only gameplay. I guess nothing ever really came of that, which is weird, since it sounded like the next logical step.
Mind you, this was pre-dreadnaughts. Very early in Eve's lifetime.
What I was hoping for is, exactly like Homeworld: You can only control your fleet in a single system. You could only leave it as a group, or leave the ships behind with whatever consequences that would entail.
I suppose, considering Eve's meta-game (from what I remember of it) and the focus on players forming their own fleet, it would cause a lot of issues.
An MMO where you start with a small ship, and eventually manage your own fleet of "nomads" would be an ideal game for me. Sort of a roaming PVP RTS.
I might as well give the game another look, but I probably won't be sticking around if the core game-play hasn't really changed or been expanded upon much.
Started playing EVE again. Citadels, massive industry changes... I have no idea what I'm doing lol.
Most of the big changes don't have a direct effect on meatshield players
Should I resub my hulk character? Haven't played in 2 years at least and I need something to do for a few hours a day.
I've never played EVE but I've been reading a few books on the subject and am super tempted. Space Race Wars sound amazing.

Russians are like that in every game really. World of Tanks on the test server, for example, is a total nightmare due to the Russian players. Impossible to get anything done because they TK you just for having "NA" in your username, under the assumption that you're American.

My wormhole corp caught a couple of russian ratters off-guard once.
Needless to say, they spent more on my bounty than their losses were even worth.
caved in and resubbed
well shit, a lot can change in 13 months
it's really nice not having to live in a fucking bubble in w-space anymore let me tell you

Really liking the new explosions currently on test server.
Welp, resubbed my accounts.
Time to collect the billions in hulls I have and sell them when the patch drops.
I just found 15 zealots sitting in abune for no reason. Along with 3 fitted panthers, all deadspace and one with a officer point. Where the hell did I get that.
I can't even tell, the API says nothing happened since the creation of the account. :v:
The havok on patch drop is going to be hilarious.
