looks closer to the sleeper art imo
But what if the Jovians made the Sleepers in the first place?
sleepers are an offshoot of the jove who developed VR tech for long space voyages before gate travel was a thing.
i thought it might have been a talocan ship at first, but it really does seem like it's going to be a jovian ship. they're implementing character portraits for the 'Heretic Soldier' pilots which would mean they're capsule piloted ships and the jove are a big fan of capsule tech.

"heretic soldier" eh? heretic as in breaking away from the jove?
as in there might be a new breed of capsuleer?
I never thought i'd see the day when the jove were playable.
It's possible the giant fuckhuge star flare was some kind of superweapon used in a Jovian civil war. Jove society was pretty strictly controlled by the government, it's possible the heretics are some kind of breakaway faction who have decided to strike out into the galaxy and use their genetic advances and technology for personal gain. Which very well could mean playable Jove.
stupid things i try to do before DT makes me wanna quit sometimes. must keep going though.

if these are just listening posts what else are we going to get :o
New Jove art style looks better than the original IMO.
Faction Warfare is one hell of a drug.

Looks real nice in incursion systems.

I dunno, i'm kind of partial to the original, organic look the jove had. It made them feel more alien.
I suppose that's a bad thing though, seeing as they're just humans with super advanced tech.
I'd still like to see some kind of organic looking tubes running along the ships though. I love the black, dirty metal look mixed with organic structures.
Think general greivous, what with his exposed arteries and shit.

Actually, that listening post reminds me of the ships of the dark elves in the second thor movie.
when was it confirmed that they're jovian?
[editline]2nd February 2015[/editline]
like, it uses the same oil film shader and color palette they use on sleeper structures and they appeared with sleepers in the last plot event idg it

nvm i just noticed the jove faction icon in the concept
-snip-, you already noticed the logo

get fuckin hype
That is exactly how I thought the Jove would look.
Very borg-y.
[editline]3rd February 2015[/editline]
If it will be for players, I wonder how or of they will do genders? Since Jove got rid of all the "unnecessary" stuff such as gender, feelings, etc. Unless this new guy is the jove's Hugh and they want to be individuals with tits and feelings and shit.
And yes, hype is got.
about time to add a new race tbh
I'm slightly wary of them adding the Jove as playable characters. Introducing content like that, which requires you to start a new character doesn't appeal to me particularly.
Plus, there's the whole thing with Jovian technology being ridiculously advanced in comparison to the other races. Either they're going to be horrendously unbalanced, there's going to be some hamfisted explanation as to why they've suddenyl regressed, or there isn't going to be any new tech for actual players.
I mean if it is a new playable race, either A) you start from scratch (CCP sells a lot of plex to do multiple character training) or B) you start off with some skills.
on the one hand, A) means potentially loads of 'newbies' buzzing about in frigates for a few weeks, but B) makes them feel kinda cheap. Plus, making a disposable alt would basically require you to pick Jove for their bonuses.
wouldn't the only difference be your avatar? Anyone could just train into the jove ship skills
That is, if the jove aren't going to be completely different.

To be fair, the Jovians have been regressing for over a century, while the empires and capsuleers have been catching up with them. The Jovians gave the rest of New Eden quite a lot of their technology over the years, in order to play the empires off against each other and keep them away from the Jovian Empire - hell, the whole battle where a Jovian titan wiped out an Amarr fleet was pretty similar to other empires Titans back in the day, pre-DD nerf. Plus, that battle was over 120 years ago.
Technological regression of the Jove, combined with technological progression of the empires/capsuleers, plus this catastrophe the Jove seem to have suffered recently could bring them pretty much in line. The Jove might not even be that high tech - they could have reached their peak a while ago before their entire race underwent a massive genetic shitsplosion. Their technology and society could just be unusual and alien now, but relatively comparable in sophistication in most areas - barring the experiments of a few Jovian geniuses and tidbits that they've forgotten how to replicate.
Jovian unidentified structures confirmed for fuckhuge

On the bottom is a Trafalger and at the top is an Avatar.
That Drifter battleship looks pretty sloppy in my opinion. Maybe it's the weird smooth reflections or the fact that the turrets/ effects don't look refined.
That structure is over 190km long.
biggest things in eve yet, right?
I think so, im sure it dwarfs stations. I mean godamn, you can warp from one end to the other.
Why is the coolest shit in this game always stuff we can't use
New Jove art style looks better than the original IMO.
No it doesn't and anyway, its not fully Jovian art but merely Sleeper faction art, I am fine with both co-existing.
Tell me you don't want to see Eidolons, Phantoms and Visitants again in future?
