Seems they've added CityEngine, CryENGINE 3 SDK, Multiwinia, and 'UC-Win/Road' otherwise it comes down to gamedevs to include compatibility since the dumb thing doesn't output any sort of joy axes natively and can't just be mapped to shit, and then driver updates or game updates can break it again. Lots of people suggest the device for every single game on their official forums and on reddit, it gets a lot of interest, but nothing ever comes of it. Sad really, the things are super intuitive, moving around takes zero thought after using it for so long, it's really weird. [editline]e[/editline] I should note I'm left handed, if you're a righty you'd have this on your left side and be using your mouse as normal. It does not act as a mouse (despite the name), and even when these things did work like that it felt like you were just forcing yourself to do something different for the hell of it [t]http://www.computinghistory.org.uk/userdata/images/large/PRODPIC-12416.jpg[/t]
I found this video kinda cool, so I decided to post it in here as well.
I fucking love flying in decoupled mode in all the games I play. I usually assign the hat switch to be my strafe thrusters, and two other adjacent buttons to be up/down thrust. Combine with no small amount of practice and you can be doing crazy tricks like this guy. Its not usually practical in combat though, but it is fun to try to do terrain following around objects and asteroids, seeing how long you can go without crashing. [editline]18th August 2016[/editline] two sticks doesn't work as well as just using the hat switch, I've tried. Its clunky and if one of the sticks isn't secured to the ground it'll go flying around at the first sign of sharp manuevers. or, both sticks will go flying. its just not the best solution :v: [editline]18th August 2016[/editline] oh god i'm gonna eat shit in the reliant so much once I upgrade to it. the aurora may not maneuver great, but the profile is easy to account for when it comes to flying near/through things. the reliant is an accident waiting to happen haha

It's the Terrapin.
Man, i really wish i could try a 3D mouse. I'm still not entirely sure i have the grasp on how it actually works.
I like to use 'camera' mode, it's by far the most intuitive. Take your phone, turn on the camera. hold it facing forward like you're taking a picture, but holding it from the top like you'd be holding this mouse thing's "puck". Use your wrist to make the camera look around, use your arm to move it forward, backward, step left and right, etc. That's it, you're just pushing a camera in 3D. an alternative, if you're more object-oriented, is object mode. Essentially, instead of moving the camera, your camera movement in relation to your subject is like you're using your hand to twist and move around the object. While I agree you really need to secure your joysticks, the fine control afforded by a decent control scheme with two sticks is incredibly comfy [editline]18th August 2016[/editline]
It's the Terrapin.
is that a goddamn mini corellian freighter
Nope. Look at the top left of the ship, you can pretty clearly see the reinforced glass. I could be wrong but I'd imagine that to be the cockpit. Visibility looks extremely poor but I guess that's the tradeoff for a strongly armored ship. Reminds me of the Reclaimer, funnily. That thing on the right looks like a pivoting thruster pointed down for takeoff/landing, probably has a matching one of the other side.

The thing at the far right must be some assembly similar to a cutlass engine, tilted down for landing [t]http://a.pomf.cat/yodzpb.png[/t]
Bingo, you got it. Having those sketch lines really helps reinforce it. Really interested in seeing the full image to pick out the little details. I might very well get one of these if it looks neat enough. Either to hold on to as melt-fodder for a more interesting ship down the line, or to have a personal little mining ship/hauler. REALLY hoping that single/duo mining is alive again thanks to this ship, since the Prospector dashed any hopes of self-sufficient mining ops when it got detailed.

I usually just feel hopelessly outclassed. I've always been more of the sort to do my own thing, either trying to go explore new shit or haul stuff across the universe for dosh. I'm trying to contain my hype for this game but it keeps escalating. Freelancer was one of my favorites, Elite: Dangerous is still really cool and you can't walk around at all (and the ship palette is smaller/more boring), and regardless of how many features don't make it to the SC first release it'll still be way too cool. Hell, walking around onboard ships is something I've wanted to have in a space game since I played my first space game (freelancer). And the wide gamut of ships so far just makes me more excited, as much as I could bitch about scope creep because of them. I just want it to run better on my pc though CIG pls. I tried the offline mode thing with cheat engine last night, but shit broke hardcore and a lot of the game assets turned into red spheres. Then, I couldn't join online games and had to verify and redownload some files (or maybe there was a patch? idk). Anyone have a 1060 here yet? I really need to upgrade beyond my 570 and the 1060 seems like a really solid choice.
I've heard the 1060 is the go-to card for upgrading on a reasonable budget. I have a 980ti myself, so I don't think I'll be bumping up my card until the 1080ti comes out, at least. Starting to wonder if I should save money to upgrade my board/CPU/hard drive in the next year or so. 4790k's are starting to get dated right? An SSD would be hella welcome for star citizen too.
I've not had a ton of pvp space sim experience. I usually just feel hopelessly outclassed.
yeah that's pretty common. With NPCs in games like elite, it's hilariously easy to get into a turning-war where you're just above each other trying to spin around for a clean shot, the ability to trade normal flight-style 'pulling up while moving forward' for 'aiming directly at the enemy while down-strafing and maintaining the circle', you can game the AI for risk free shooting. Vanduul in SC are a bit more erratic and will opt for making strafing runs instead of falling into a tight circle with you, but your own use of debris for ducking in and out of cover can save a lot of pain, especially when you're badly hurt (or otherwise flying a fragile ship) and have to deal with elites and missile spam
980ti
don't even bother upgrading for a few more years until you've maxed out everything else on your system. Only reason to bump from that to a 10xx series would be that you're rich and just want the best of the best, or you're running some hardcore rendering and VR content for things outside of gaming
Heh, I don't want to think of full-system upgrades but I have to. Something shorted out on my motherboard and blew all but 2 of the 7 rear panel USB slots, and the 2 left are the ones at the top meant to be used for just your KB+mouse. I'm just lucky that my KB has a usb splitter built in, otherwise I would've been buying a new MB 2500k, 570, and 8gb of RAM have served me very well up until about the last year. I've started to feel some pretty apparent limits.
Still on my i7 4820k and GTX 780 :(
We did it boys.
Almost looks like it's meant to be a space APC. Not seeing many weapons systems or turrets or anything. That's a suitable adjustment to its original concept of "hardened multipurpose". Still could be a hardened multipurpose ship, it's just bigger than a starter, evidently.
that ramp game is strong

I'd say that's how Marines could be transported, but Marines are already established in lore as basically being Adeptus Astartes without quite so much power armor, and their M.O. is orbital drop pod followed by the efficient elimination of resistance with maximum prejudice.
the hexagonal segmenting of the cockpit window probably means it's going to have a wider two seat area in there than the side view let on earlier. Plus the drop ramp on the side of the ship maybe I was right about the whole corellian freighter thing [t]http://i1346.photobucket.com/albums/p689/Steelieboy1/YT-1900/20140316_013223_zpsc1132444.jpg~original[/t]

Neato, great job guys. I want more Carrack details though
[t]https://robertsspaceindustries.com/media/bsr922y8lnjn6r/source/Ext_front.jpg[/t]
Is that a Mako
Well they both have six wheels so obviously yes
Apparently the livestream starts at 9PM CEST, what will they talk about? Procedural generation?
It's strongly implied/all but confirmed that we will see: - Procgen, starring Levski (Nyx) transplanted into a round procgen planet, basically Pupil to Planet V2 - Star Marine (it's in 2.6) - 2.5 stuff, probably, since it's still not live even if GrimHex is "old" news - Terrapin concept reveal (other than just the one pic)? - Probably some sort of demo of the Subsumption AI and other stuff Tony Z and CIG Austin have been doing The first two are the biggest and are expected, but CIG always likes to have surprises for their presentations.
Well they both have six wheels so obviously yes
I really thought it was a Mako maybe from the new ME
Lol
Livestream started yo, anyone got a room where us fags can talk about it [editline]19th August 2016[/editline] https://www.twitch.tv/starcitizen [editline]19th August 2016[/editline] Oops 48 minutes to go feck [editline]19th August 2016[/editline] aaaand 30 min delay :v:
Why do I have to be working during the presentation? Oh well, I'm sure someone will do cliff notes.
