Only watched from the Starfarer onwards, that was pretty cool. Why did some of the players play as pirates though? Are missions where human players are recruited from both sides going to be a thing? Or was it just because they don't have proper AI yet?

Also we should indeed have looked forward to Gamescom after all, heh.
Obligatory its a scam and its never coming out, they don't have anything to show this year etc That was probably the best demo they've done so far, go a little flaky near the end but I thought it was gonna end after the Starfarer blackbox.

He flew it out of the ship and into their freelancer, then used it for a new segment of the mission[/sp]

The huge [I]Mass Effect 1[/I] vibes I'm getting from the airless moon, the rover, and the pirate base are making me very excited.
Cutlass overall is due for a redesign I believe, at least for the internals. It's probably going to see a big facelift like the Hornet. Just got done watching the presentation and holy wow. Game's still the slightly buggy and rough around the edges experience we're used to, but damn if that wasn't incredibly promising. I hope that the end of year build truly does have all the stuff they're planning. I'm still hung up on the 30 stations thing though. Part of me doubts that they can flesh out that many stations with unique character like Olisar/Grimhex. Could be wrong, but they're gonna have to start reusing assets somewhere.

Huh, now that you point it out, yeah. Still 30 stations? Things are gonna get really noticeable unless they throw in a couple custom areas/rooms with every station. Also holy fuck is the Terrapin expensive. 195 bucks? That overshot my upper estimates by a load. So much for being the last "starter" ship. And why does it have S2 power plant and shields? Wasn't it supposed to have "the strongest shields in its class" and "a significant portion of its power" dedicated to them?
I would just point to the 5 stations we already have; olisar, kareah, derelict, repair place and the comm satellite thingy they're all pretty samey but there's enough variation that you can tell the difference. they can't make entire new systems for every station but that doesn't mean you'll be seeing the exact same station copy pasted over and over
